His jet black hair was cropped shorter on the sides. A few longer strands fell in his face, but he ignored them. His black eyes were on me and very slowly a dark eyebrow rose. This was accompanied by a slight grin. I wasn't the only one eyeing someone, though. The Alpha did the same for me and I got the unfathomable feeling that he didn't miss an inch. Several minutes passed in which we simply looked at each other or stared into each other's eyes.
A clearing of my throat finally drew my attention to the boy who had also announced my presence. He seemed about to say something, but was stopped by an abrupt gesture from his alpha. "Why weren't you there?" The Alpha's deep voice couldn't hide the interest in his question. I looked at Mr. Tally, who shook his head slightly. It seemed like he was trying to tell me to just think of some mundane excuse. So I turned my attention back to the huge, black-haired man and said, "I didn't feel like it." Serious and slightly confused, he asked: "You didn't feel like it?" I smiled lightly.
"Yes, as I said before. It doesn't interest me and this matter doesn't concern me either." "This matter affects everyone. After all, we all want the same thing. A lasting, just peace." "So? Do we want that?" He knew I annoyed him.
And he went into it willingly. "Well, at least that's what I want." He bridged the gap between us, so I had to raise my head a little to keep my eyes on him. His dark, impenetrable gaze pierced me, but I held his ground and met his eyes with the same seriousness. He cocked his head thoughtfully. "You're not afraid of me, why not?" "Is your alpha vision meant to intimidate me?" "I asked you something first." "And I you after." Something flashed in his eyes before he lowered his head and then shook it. But he couldn't hide the slight smile on his face from me. "He's usually intimidating, yes."
"Then I'm sorry to disappoint you. The look seems pretty silly to me." The Alpha raised an eyebrow in surprise as one of his pack stepped forward. "What are you thinking, talking to our alpha like that?" a young werewolf snapped at me.
As the alpha growled viciously at the poor boy, I let my eyes wander over the presumably 15-year-old. "Why are you at this event? Aren't you actually much too young for something like that?" Now he straightened proudly, no longer intimidated by his alpha's gaze, whose attention was once again on me. "I am in training to be a warrior." I nodded appreciatively. "Wow." However, I couldn't suppress a mocking grin.
The boy growled at me. I just rolled my eyes and looked back at him. He looked at me thoughtfully.
"What?" I asked. " Have you noticed anything else that you would like to complain about?" He walked towards me, even closer. Finally he stopped so close in front of me that when we inhaled our upper bodies touched.
He lowered his voice. "Quite the opposite. And please stop calling me. It's so... impersonal." "Well, actually, just right for us." "Us." He purred lightly. "That sounds good." I looked at him in surprise. Suddenly his gaze became distant. A few seconds later he blinked a few times. Then he turned to his pack members and nodded once. With a loud crack all the werewolves transformed and ran out into the forest until only the Alpha remained. He scanned the students and said then: "You have a choice." Wow, cryptic. He turned back to me.
"I hope to see you again soon, Alina." "Too bad I can't say the same thing..." "Damian. Call me Damian." He tilted his head slightly before turning into a black wolf with a howl and disappearing. Eventually, only the students and teaching staff remained. Mr. Tally swallowed hard and watched the Alpha go.
Then life seemed to take hold of him again and he began to chase the students back to their rooms with hectic movements. I watched the spectacle and slowly crept towards the forest. I could really do without school now. At home there was still a book waiting for me and a series that I had already watched 10 times. They were probably much better to process or best of all forget the meeting with Damian.
"Alina!" Mr. Tally would yell across the schoolyard and then run towards me, which looked pretty funny as the plump little man used to trip over a rock or something. When he reached me - at some point I had started to feel sorry for the man and I went to meet him - he leaned on his knees, panting, before he fixed my eyes with a reddish face. "Okay, listen to me now, my dear Alina.
You know I totally have your back. The way you defend yourself against the werewolves and at the same time make people feel comfortable here is really great and I have I've always admired, and while that might be a bit of an exaggeration, I feel like some kind of father figure to you. As you know, I don't have any children of my own, and I've never seen your aunt either." He huffed once.
"Anyway, I feel obligated to let you know. Before the Shadow Pack got here, I voiced my concerns and asked you to be careful. Which is why you weren't supposed to come today." He sighed.
"To get to the point: Damian Black is dangerous. He exterminates packs, scares and tortures humans. He stops at nothing. Anyone in their right mind stays away from him. For whatever reason, you piqued his interest. He... he even allowed you to call him by his first name. And the way he looked at you. Watch out for him!
This guy has many enemies and word will spread quickly that one of the most dangerous men in the world has taken an interest in a human girl. So please take care! If something is bothering you or you are afraid, come to me. I'm really worried about you." I stared wide-eyed at the principal in front of me.
I was expecting everything, but certainly not such an emotional speech. I opened my mouth to say something, but then closed it again. What was I supposed to say?” Mr. Tally registered my surprise and smiled slightly at me, then nodded at me again and then turned to run towards the school building. take care of yourself!
