42 THE REPEAT

Drew kissed me! My best friend kissed me. I try to break from him, from the kiss, but he grips my hair and my arm, and he kisses me so strong with full rage that I can taste blood in my mouth. The kiss doesn’t give tingles—it isn’t right. I cup his face and push him away, but he’s just so strong, and I need to breathe, but I can’t just break away no matter how I try to struggle. So shut my eyes close and kiss him back just the way he kisses me, and he moans and loosens his grip on my hair, and that’s how I get to pull away from him.

I slap him so hard like I never slap anyone before, and it feels good.

“You bitch!” He yanks my hair again and kisses me hard that I don’t see it coming. This time is worse as he bites my lip while gripping my hair with his left hand and kneading my breast with his right hand. I scream against his mouth when the pain worsens. I push him away through his chest, but he doesn’t budge. I pull him closer and into me by his shirt and knee him in the crotch, and he falls and curls while holding his crotch.

I step away from him as I watch him whining in pain. I find myself wiping the blood off and the traces of his kiss on my lips. I feel disgusted that the person I trusted the most for three years is forcing me to do something that I can’t stomach.

Before I can grab the doorknob, he manages to catch my leg, and I kick off his grip on me away. Instead, he grabs me so strong that I fall to the floor with a thud. I wince in pain and grab the carpet on the floor, but it won’t hold well. I kick it off when he tries to grab me again. When I look down, he’s already crawling so fast towards me. We are like a cat and a mouse, and I crawl fast away from him, but he catches me on my leg then grabs my shirt and crawls on top of me.

Drew presses me against the floor, making me difficult to breathe when I realize that I should have been shouting for help. He covers my mouth with his hand, and I try biting his palm, it won’t work. He knows what he’s doing. So I reach out for his head instead and take his hand from my mouth, but he is so strong. I am getting weak from the struggle of getting off of him while he’s enjoying what he’s doing to me.

I push his hand into my mouth instead and bite his palm as strong as I can, and that’s when he screams in pain. He yanks and pushes my head to the floor. The pain is excruciating. My vision blurs, and I can see things spinning, and then turn black.

I feel my body bumping, like rolling, but I can’t see anything. It’s hot here, and the space is so small. I can feel the sweat all over my body, and I can’t even move. My eyes are blindfolded, duct tape on my mouth. My hands taped back and my ankles as well. I start to shake and pant in panic. Then it hits me. I remember what happened to Drew and me in the hotel room.

Oh my God, Drew. My best friend for three years is evil. How could he do this to me? He kissed me, yanked me, grabbed me, hit me, and now he kidnapped me.

My life is so disastrous. If I only listen to Sebastian, nothing would happen to me like this. Oh, my God. Sebastian. He must have been worried sick about me.

My ears pick up footsteps. Then I feel cold, a strong hand grabs my arm, then my legs, and I struggle to loosen, but it doesn’t work. Nothing’s working. I feel like I’m spinning, and my hair is falling.

I want to puke right now.

A loud thud comes next then I feel a warm and strong body press against mine.

He carries me upside down like I’m a sack of potato. “Stop struggling, Mackenzie.” He keeps calling me that, and I want to puke with my own name. I suffered a lot because of that name, and he must know now the reason why I changed my name, yet he keeps taunting me to get under my skin.

“I know you’re awake. It’s not that far to our home. Just a little patient.” I struggle more, and I cry and shake, but he seems to be deaf and has no emotions. Our friendship for three years has totally vanished or it was just to lure me to trust him. He came when I was vulnerable when I needed someone—a friend, and he took that opportunity and befriended me.

It happens again. What Sebastian is going to do now? My dad. How are they going to find me? Are they freaking out right now? Of course, they are. I’m sure Sebastian is barking at everyone to find me.

“Stop crying, Mackenzie. You’ll be fine. I won’t hurt you if you behave, sweet Mackenzie.” Oh, my God, he’s the caller. My stalker.

I sob even I don’t have a voice. He stops, and I hear a clinking sound then we are moving again, then the loud thud. That must be the door. I hear the sound of the old wooden floors creak in each step he makes. Then he must have opened another door as it squeaks when he stops. We move again. A few seconds later, he stops, he puts me down on the cold floor.

“You’re heavier, sweet Mackenzie,” he says as he walks away, and may have locked the door then heavy footsteps approach again that gives me shiver.

All the terrifying things that happened to me three years ago come flashing back in my head, and now I am beyond terrified.

“It shouldn’t have ended like this, Mackenzie, but you give me no choice.” I hear a screeching sound. He carries me and puts me to sit.

I wiggle.

“Stop moving, Mackenzie. One move, I will tie you up and flog you.” His voice is strong and it almost sounds like a growl. As scared as I am, I don’t move. He takes off the duck tape around my hands slowly. When it loosens, I wiggle my wrists, and I forget his warning. He catches them and hits me in the head.

“Consider that a warning. One more move, I will hang you upside down and whip your ass. Try again, and you’ll see.”

I imagine myself hang up while he’s whipping me. I sob and sniff, and my body shakes in terror. My nightmare has finally come true. My psychopath stalker best friend just kidnapped me. I may not see my husband again or worse, I may die in here with regrets.

He wraps my arms against the back of the chair and handcuffs me. Handcuffs? My breathing catches. Then he removes the duct tape around my ankles.

“If you will try to kick me, I will hit you until you can’t move and fuck you from behind. Do you understand, Mackenzie?” I nod repeatedly with a sob.

“Good. Now be a good girl, and I will reward you.” I inwardly curse him.

The moment he removes the tie, he ties my right ankle to the leg of the chair and does the same thing to the left, stronger and tighter this time.

“If you behave like a good girl, I will remove your blindfold, take off the tape on your mouth. I will give you food to eat and let you pee and use the bathroom.”

All I can do is nod. I can’t allow him to hurt me. I need to eat to get my strength.

“Good, let see,” he says calmly. I don’t move even a bit, and I’m even holding my breath. I hear him dragging something, probably a chair, a hand on my head, loosening the blindfold. I blink once, twice, and many times until I see him in front of me sitting on the chair. I blink again and swallow hard.

He looks nothing like my best friend who was handsome and treated me like a sister. The man in front of me is the devil in my nightmare, a heartless, lunatic, sick, a psycho, and a stalker, and I will be lying if I’m not scared at him right now. I can’t fight him even if I want to escape because I know I don’t have a chance of winning.

I look around, and it looks like an old empty room with cobwebs everywhere, dust all over the places, even on the floor. I can even see the shoe prints—his shoe prints.

Nothing around worth seeing, just his chair and my chair. I look to my right, and I see a small door. That must be the bathroom. I look at him again. He’s just observing me. He hasn’t said a word.

I motion to my mouth, and he shakes his head. “That’s enough for now. One move of your chair, I’ll drag you to that bathroom.” He stands up and walks to the door, opens it, then close it behind him, then he locks me up in here alone.

I cry until I feel I can’t breathe anymore. It’s happening again—my worst nightmare. Everything that happened those nights come back like a flashback—only this time I know it’s real, and I know who took me away from the people I care about. And history repeats itself.
