Intentions Known
Inside the tree.
"When did Ayla tell you that she would arrive?"
Vulcan's voice was barely high but it got to the wandering Prium who at the moment stood at the front of the portal, arms tucked into each other, wrapped over her boobs, her back to her father.
Immediately, she turned and began to walk to meet Vulcan who was lying on the green lawn which was quite distant from the house now with three rooms and a living room. Each room for each of them.
"She didn't say. Who cares whether or not she's done with the crazy task. Who even asked her to act as the king? We all know the king is dead why go an extra mile in the name of complications?"
She was almost close to him. He didn't sit up, his legs yet were spread out, his bare back to the green and his waist covered in a kinda wrapper woven from the hides of cheetahs.
"Why do you dislike her this much?!"
He asked finally! His voice refined but demanding. Not harsh, not calm. Quite an effort made to regulate both his tone and his mood. One which was at the mercy of the other.
"And why do you like her this much?!"
She argued. She was towering over him at that time, standing by his head. He was tempted to sit up, but he loved the sensation that position was generous to spare him.
"Don't be ridiculous, Prium. We all know that we wouldn't had gotten any far with these plans if she hadn't been a part of it. Even if we are frank with ourselves, she is the main part of it. Without her, we wouldn't had been able to do a thing."
There was bitterness in his voice, but he was good at the manipulation of the effects his words have on people. That was quite a thing he had been generous to work on.
"Woah. How brilliant, father. Which means that I am as useless as the creepy creature that came here the other day."
Prium shot. Though Vulcan couldn't see her face, but he didn't need to be told by a soothsayer that she was annoyed. Like angry. He switched,
"Don't be like that, daughter. Come seat beside me."
He urged without standing up, though he was generous to work his curious eyes in her direction.
She hesitated firstly then walked in the other direction towards were he had patted and sat beside him who was till lying.
"You know how much you mean to me and you could see how much I love you and defend you before her. But being rude to her would make no difference. Twill only slacken the pace of our tasks and either of us might even get hurt at the bid of that. That is what I've always wanted you to understand but most times you take that as though I'm being unfair and never ever respected the choice you made for me."
She didn't say a thing at that. He didn't know why she loved acting that way. But he was sure that not all the ladies he knew would act thus; even after correcting her, she makes him feel like he was wrong and wasn't doing right by her.
Athena had never made him feel that way, neither had Ayla. Nor had all the Nymphs he had made out with in his fantasy. Why was Prium then different from them all? Was it because she was his blood? That was even hard to judge. What blood?! Was he a human any longer?!
"Now you'll keep quiet?"
He asked finally. She definitely couldn't read his thoughts, that was the only thing she could relate with. His words.
"I just want her to go. As soon as we are done with all. The only task we have left is mother. And after that, all would be done."
She said finally. He didn't respond. He already knew that he wouldn't win her. He didn't want to. Trying to win a lady in a discourse would only put you in more trouble. He offered her instead,
"Rest your head."
She looked at him wondering if he really meant what he had said. He smiled back at her. Damn! She was beautiful, but there was a verge to it. She was his daughter. And even though she wasn't, he wasn't drawn to her in such manner. He was already spoken for.
She then laid down beside him, her legs reaching further than his, that her head might be on his chest. He didn't mind. He had offered her.
"Father, do you love Athena?"
She severed the silence. Vulcan on the other hand wasn't expecting the question, he was caught off guard.
"No!"
He replied. She sighed.
"I'm in love with her."
He added. Her heart missed a beat at the complementing sentence. She felt like biting him in the chest.
"And how sure are you that she feels the same way about you?"
She asked without looking up at him. He didn't hesitate,
"You'll see for yourself, Prium, when she arrives. I wish I could explain to you, but time would test it."
She didn't seem to get enough. She tossed, trying her luck,
"What if she never returns and probably is held down by some factors. Isn't it wise to make do with what you have here on earth."
He didn't answer her directly. He shouldn't be that dumb but how could he not see where she was driving at? Damn!
"I've been thinking of it too, but I'm certain that Athena would come back for me. She had always got my back. Plus, even if I make out with Ayla, who is Athena's slave, Athena wouldn't mind. So, there's no point in getting worried."
She shot, her voice slightly high this time,
"So you fancy Ayla?"
He chuckled and shot back immediately,
"Why shouldn't I? Who's there to fancy again. She's beautiful and curvy, with ample bosom."
He didn't know what he was doing to her but he was surprised that she didn't get pissed off. All she said was,
"How could you be this blind, father."
She placed her left palm on the fall of his thigh and began to trace it up till she got to hem of the wrapper.
"What are you doing, Prium?"
He asked, his voice urgent, his throttle dancing. He just wanted to be sure.
"Stay calm, Vulcan."
She shot instead and slid her palm under the wrapper, and began to hurry up. She was about to grab his cock when he shook her hand off immediately and sprung to his feet. He stood up,
"Are you sick? Don't you know I'm your father!"
His face mean, and his voice raving. She scoffed instead and muttered,
"My father died few weeks ago. He was beheaded in the rings. You're his reincarnation or whatever. You ain't no more my biological father. Well, probably my ex father."
She was already on her feet and making advances towards him again. He let her get to him and reached out her hand to touch him. He held that hand and twisted it a little bit and with that, pushed her back. She fell on her back.
"Watch your steps and words, little lady. You think if I wasn't your father I would had fancied you as a lady if I saw you in the street?! Of course not. And beyond that, who knows if you all are my true family and not shams like the rape allegation."
He hurled at her and turned his back immediately. He began to walk away. Then suddenly, there was a collision in the portal.
The both of them turned and looked towards the place. Twas Ayla, wounded. Her palm to her stomach. She was bleeding. She fell on her face and the portal closed behind her.
Vulcan hurried towards her.
