Chapter 5 I Owe Your Father

Every time I got home all I see was mom, dad was always not around. Mom was doing her best to make me happy, but ever since I met that old man I forgot to smile.

Sometimes, we go out but with bodyguards all around us, when people see us fear is visible in their eyes. They are scared of my mom, others bowed down or looked down.

People know that I'm their only child but no name got out and as far as I know, no one ever saw my face because every time we go out I wore a hooded jacket and a mask because I don't want other people to see my bruises.

Mom is trying her best to give me the best treatment every Sunday.

Today is Sunday and I'm not wishing anymore to see my dad, true I hate him.

"Go to the van and wait for me there." Uncle Dos snapped his hand in front of me, so I walked fast towards the van and hopped on it.

I looked at the window to see my reflection. My face is not that busted anymore but the bruise on my lips is visible. The medicines I made are really effective...

I got broken bones but I tried getting it back in the normal state and the fractured are healing so fast because of the medicine I drink every night.

For 4 years I bear the pain and getting used to it. Now, I can stand the pain...

I have a mission and that is to know when that old man put a substance on my food. The last time I tried sneaking in his room to find it... I failed, he saw me and dragged me in the basement.

I tried getting out of his hold but he was too strong! Next time, I won't let him get near me. I'm faster than him but he's stronger than me, he's hulk! He tortured me once again.

You might be thinking why I did not try to escape, I did multiple times and multiple times I nearly got died. When I was 8 I tried escaping, well, I did escape. I ran for miles and followed the route we always used if we go out every Sunday but then armed men blocked my way, his people.

They brought me back to the mansion and I was tortured once again. He stabbed me with a knife, he kicked and punched me again and again.

I lost a big amount of blood and I can feel my death until I passed out. I woke up in my bed with oxygen that keeps me breathing, yup he cured me, told you he's all around, I was unconscious for a week.

And I tried escaping once again but then faced a near-death experience, I was stabbed twice but before that, he hits me many times.

Unfortunately, I am still alive, well he was my doctor, God knows what did he do to keep me alive.

Let's go back to his sleeping substance. To identify whether there is a substance on my food is to smell it.

According to the book, every existence can be smelled, at first, I doubted it. Once I had my free time I sneaked towards the library room. The old man might be a prodigy but I'm gifted.

I hide my medicines under my bed, making sure no one can see. I've been practicing the power of smell following a book of instruction, and meditation is highly needed.

The sound of the engine made me out of my thoughts. When we reached the mansion I got out to see my mom waiting...

We were sitting on the couch, watching a movie when dad came but my face held nothing, nor any emotions.

Mom stands up when dad walked closer to us but I remained sitting when he reached in front of me. I looked up to see him looking at me, his eyes held so many emotions but sadness took over his face. While my face held nothing...

"Good to see you." He said looking at me with so many emotions love, longingness, and sadness.

I nodded which made him shocked, you made me this, face it. Then, he turned back to his old expression, cold.

"I brought you a friend, he'll be your friend from now and he'll be your right hand at the right time. You can trust him." He said.

"Carlo!" He looked at the door and motioned someone to come near us. I stand up, turn my body around, and looked at it.

A boy is walking near us by the looks of it he's 12. When he got closer,

"Venice this is Carlo and Carlo this is my daughter Venice, remember what I told you." He said sternly facing Carlo.

"Yes sir," Carlo said looking at me with a smile not even glancing at my father.

I never talked to any kid before, all I talked to are older people, my parents, uncle Dos and the servants.

After dad introduced me to Carlo he left with mom.

And this kid keeps on bugging me! I ignored him but he keeps on asking what happened to my bruised face. Since I'm wearing a sweater and pants, he wouldn't see my scars.

I was watching a movie but this kid keeps on poking me and I hate it.

"What!?" I snapped at him. He seemed shocked and when he recovered, he smiled widely.

"You talk! I thought you're mute, oh my! Well, I'm Carlo your knight and shining armor." He raised his hand for a high five but I ignored it, he's funny, knight and shining armor, pfft!

I prefer to be dead than to prolonged my misery, and what? Have my knight, what the! That's total bullshit.

"What is it that you need? I don't care, whatever is your business with my father, just stay away from me." I said in a cold voice.

He looked surprised at my voice then he turned serious.

"My business is to protect you. I'll do my best to protect you in every way I can, that's my job." He said with sincerity in his voice.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because I owe your father!" He beamed smiling widely.
