Chapter 56 up

Why wouldn't Mr. Baron let the girl go if they're already working for him? That's a good reason to believe but there's a missing piece. What would it be?

"And if we'll run away you girls shall come with us. We can't leave you here." Adrian said looking at us and lastly to Drena with worry.

"No, we have to get them out of here as soon as possible." Xenon stated using his hard voice while staring at me.

I looked at Drena and I know she knew what I meant. The decision is up to her, it's for their safety and not mine, so I won't take their right to decide for it. I saw her looked at Cassy who nodded at her. "We will stay, we're already involved." She said with sincerity.

"But Dren-" Adrian was cut off by Drena "No Adrian, you've protected me for two years and that's enough. If you're all concerned about our safety, we can fight, what's the purpose of going to this school if we'll just run and hide?" Her voice was hard which made Adrian taken aback for a second.

"She's right. We'll stay." Cassy stated with determination.

I sensed Xenon looked at me, I nodded at him. His face turned hard accepting his defeat. "I think we have no choice but to let them stay Xen, it's safer if they're with us." Lucas interrupted.

"With Claire's condition, we can't easily get them out of here," Coby added.

"Fine." He stated looking at me with... love? No, I think not. It might be worry.

Everyone already went out after their conversation which I don't care enough except Xenon who's sitting on the chair beside me while facing and tapping on his phone.

"I assumed this is your room," I said which made him looked at me.

"Ahm, yes. I have to look for you every time so I decided to take you here." He scratches his neck in... shyness?

"I'm fine now, can you take me to the guest room? I assumed you have them." His face suddenly turned hard.

"I'm afraid I can't. You just got sta-" he cut himself off as he closed his eyes and take a deep breath calming his self. He opened his eyes and looked at me "You need to take your rest here." He stands up "Set this conversation off Claire." He said when I motioned to open my mouth to argue.

Did he just cut me off!? He turned his back at me and started walking, is he walking out of our conversation!? He should be dead by now, but why am I not moving? Why am I not killing him? Killing him... I suddenly felt a pang of pain in my heart... What is this?

He's the only person to get away from me with this attitude, alive... Xenon, what are you doing to me?

"Where are you going?" I asked plainly.

"To the bathroom. I'm going to take a bath, wanna join?" He looked back teasing me.

I immediately looked away in shyness. What did I just say? Shyness?

I heard laughs coming from him "Oh, Claire." He said smiling and went inside the bathroom. His laugh... it was like music to my ears, it has a great melody...

What just happened? Why would I be shy? Why does his laugh affect me that much? I put my hand on my chest. My heartbeat... it's beating fast...

The moment I motioned to sit up, the bathroom door opened "Oh shi*! Just wait-" I freeze while my elbow is supporting my upper body.

Oh, shi*! He ran and walked fast towards me with just a towel in his waist! He saw my reaction which made him smirked.

Then I felt a hand on my back supporting it as he pushed me near his chest. Everything is sort of like slow motion and I can feel sparks all over my body.

His scent is so strong, it's so delicious... his body is muscular with his six-pack abs. I want to touch him... I want to taste him... What am I saying!?

My heartbeat is beating so fast again... I felt him slowly pulling my upper body down in a pillow he prepared at my back to support me from sitting up.

"Next time if you want to sit, tell me, okay?" He's worried... Why would he be? Why is he doing this to me? I nodded at him.

"Go change now," I demanded plainly and looked away.

I sensed him bit his lower lip hiding his smile and leaned into my ear "This body is yours, I'm all yours." He said in his husky voice. I suddenly feel my cheeks burning!

He chuckles which made me looked at him "I like you blushing." He smiled. Am I blushing?!

My hands immediately pulled the cover up my face covering it from him. Did my hands just suddenly moved!?

I heard him laugh... a laugh that I will never forget, it's too melancholic to hear "You're too cute Claire." He murmured in between his laughs.

I just let my face be covered by the blanket "I'm done changing, you can show up now." I can sense him smiling. I slowly pulled back the cover to see him smiling at me.

He's wearing his black shirt and pants. He's so handsome... What!? I can see myself reacting against my will. Is this normal!?

Suddenly someone knocked on the door, Xenon went towards the door and opened it to reveal Drena with a tray of food. "I'm sorry Claire, it took me time to prepare your food. Adrian keeps on distracting me." She put the tray on the table.

"It's fine. Thanks." I said, she smiled at me and turned to Xenon.

"Xen, can I please borrow Claire for a while? Don't worry I'll take care of her." Drena wears her pleading look but Xenon still seems to be hesitant.

He looked at me and I nodded at him, then he looked back at Drena and nodded at her for acceptance before going out.

The moment the door closed, Drena locked it and put the tray of food in front of me. I started eating in silence, suddenly,

"Claire, I really don't know you but it seems like you've known most things about them especially their job." I looked at her waiting for her to continue "I just want to ask you, can... Can I trust you? Can we trust you? Oh, I trusted you but... something is bothering me and I can't just ignore it, so please answer me... Can I trust you?" She asked hoping for a good answer. There are so many things into it and I know exactly what she meant by that trust.

I nodded "But, not all the time." She let out a wide genuine smile and hugged me carefully not to spill my food."It's fine! I've seen what I wanted to know." She said softly and pulled out "Thank you Claire." She added, her eyes are glistening as I continue eating my food.

She doesn't know me but she trusted me enough to hide what she had known.

"If you need my help, just tell me. I can assist you." She smiled. She knew that I'm doing something secretly.

"Just cover-up." With her smart mindset, she knows what I mean. I may need her in covering possible things I might do.

"Consider it done!" She exclaimed smiling.
