A SURPRISE GIFT
Kate bumped into Aurora at the passageway.
“Sorry my lady”she bowed and sobbed quietly, she was about to move on when Arianna called her back.
“You are Kate..”
Kate stopped and nodded in reply, sniffing silently to stop her tears.
“Are you alright?”
Aurora asked, she was sure ,Kate just got out of Evan’s room judging from the destinations she was coming from.
“Yes ma’am,I …just had something in my eyes,that’s all”Kate managed to reply with a stable voice.
Arianna studied her intently,then she glanced back towards Evan's room.
“I would like to have a word with you,come”.
Arianna grabbed her wrist to her surprise and walked towards the exit.
Kate was curious but as long as she is in the mansion,she is a maid so she has no right to ask her mistress questions.
“Get inside the car”Arianna ordered.
They both entered the car and the driver started the engine.
Half way from the Hitler's mansion, Kate was sitting tightly her two hands rested on her knees, uncomfortable.
“Ma’am..,I”
“Please call me Ari”.
Arianna smiled at her softly.
“Ari…Ma’am..”
“Just Ari..please".
Arianna giggled at her innocence, she could tell Kate was so scared to get into trouble with the Hitler's family.
“Sorry for that…I wanted to tell you,I quitted my job minutes ago”.
Arianna's eyes widened in surprise.
“Oh really,but I didn’t ask you to come with me as a servant though that’s why I asked you to call me Ari, that’s what my friends used to call me”.
She replied, forcing the thought of Max and Tianna off her mind.
“What help am I going to offer you …..Ma’am Ari…I did it again”
Kate mouthed slowly.
“It’s okay you will get used to it soon”Arianna replied softly.
“My wedding will be an emergency one but I don’t want to mess up with the dress so I want you to help me with the choices”.
Kate nodded slowly.
“It will be a pleasure Ari”.
“See you got it this time”Arianna snapped in excitement.
It made Kate chuckle and felt a bit comfortable with Arianna, she gave her an adoration stare for minutes without Arianna knowing.
Minutes later they arrived at the fashion store.
The place was famous for stars and big shots.
Kate was very impressed by the quality of fashion she had seen so far,they must be very expensive,she thought.
The attendant took them to the bridals but Arianna whispered something to her unknown to Kate, which made her curious.
The attendant glanced at her then nodded.
She walked to Kate.
“This way please,ma’am “
Kate looked at her back to make sure she wasn’t being mistaken.
“Sorry you are talking to me?”
She asked, a hand placed on her chest.
The attendant nodded.
"You should follow her Kattie, it’s a special treatment for new customers visiting for the first time “Arianna lied to convince her.
Another Attendant took Kate’s bag and gave it to Arianna ,who collected it ,and smiled at Kate.
“Don’t be scared,”she laughed.
Kate nodded then followed the attendants.
The next room was a beauty parlor, lots of beauticians working on celebrities.
When Kate entered the room,she bowed to everyone, being Asian they didn’t consider it weird then she dressed like a commoner and she is definitely not a celebrity,they knew.
“Have a sit here “
The attendant then went to get something from the opposite room.
Kate drew a deep breath and sat on the chair, it felt so comfortable.
Close to two hours later, Kate came out looking like she was about to walk the runaway.
“Kate is that you?”
Arianna dropped the gown sample she was checking out and rushed towards her.
Kate excitedly held her hands as if they have been friends for a long time.
“You look amazing”Arianna compliments.
“Thanks, I feel so… important,I look like …..I am a movie star”.
“This is the best gift for Evans”.
Arianna spilled out of excitement.
Kate's smile vanished slowly.
“Evans?”
She pulled her hands slowly from Arianna's.
