A MIRACLE
The paramedics carried Kate's body into the Ambulance while Evans was led into the car by Andre and Arianna.
They drove after the ambulance, heading to the hospital.
They were asked to wait outside the hospital's theater, Arianna sat down because of her condition while Evans and Andre couldn't stop pacing around the room restlessly.
As the doctors went on to try their best to save Kate.
Minutes gone to hours, no news from the doctors or anything else to be hopeful.
Evans suddenly fell on his knee and broke down in tears like a child.
Evans and Arianna were shocked to see him in such an emotional trauma.
Andre went and held him.
"Evans.you have to be strong,you are in a public place, people are staring…"
Evans slapped off his hands from his shoulder.
"You don't understand do you…maybe I should pull the trigger on Arianna so you can understand my pains"
He cried out angrily.
Andre looked back at Arianna, swimming in tears then back to Evans.
Evan's right, he couldn't imagine Arianna being the one on Kate's condition. He would do more than just break down.
"I promise you nothing is going to happen to her , they are still in there that means she is fighting,you have to believe in her".
Andre consoled him, and gave him a hand to pull him up.
Evans hesitated then took his hand, Andre pulled him into a tight hug, Evans leaned on him and sobbed.
Just then a doctor came out of the theater.
Arianna stood up in expectation the same way Evans and Andre turned to him for the information about Kate's state.
"If she can wake up before five hours then she will be good".
"What does that mean?"
Evans snapped, not satisfied.
"I am sorry there's nothing I can do more, let's party and hope. You can go see her now"the doctor replied and walked away..
"I believe in miracles Evans, she will pull through"Arianna said to him.
The trio walked in the room to be with Kate.
Evans sat beside her bed and held her hand, she was on oxygen still unconscious.
"Kate…hey.."
He whispered trying not to cry, he pressed his lips together tightly.
"It's 4 hours, love ,we can do this…I need you,...I have done a lot of things I regretted but this….not being able to save you,I will never forgive myself".
His blurred eyes glanced at the clock.
The tick sound was echoing and rhyming with his heart skipping.
Arianna and Andre held hands praying silently.
The tension was even higher than before as they were conscious of the time given to them by the doctor.
He bent his head and cried silently.
"God…I will believe in you if you can bring her back, miracle please miracle".
He mumbled.
The room was as quiet as a graveyard then suddenly the machine started beeping.
Evans raising his head,a nurse brushed Evan's aside and others rushed in,they surrounded Kate's bed.
"I am sorry ,but you have to stay outside the room sir".
One of the nurses said, pushing him gently out of the room.
Evans didn't blink or feel anything, not even his own heartbeat,his eyes were on Kate, absentmindedly.
Now he was outside the room, the glass door was shut by the nurse.
Arianna and Andre were also outside, unable to control their tears this time, especially Arianna, she leaned on Andre's shoulder.
This is bad, the sudden emergency,the electrocardiogram sound must be because of the cessation of her heartbeat and the doctors surrounding her.
Evans laughed out,and brushed his palm over his face, after finally snapping out of his shock.
Then he dashed into the restroom, Andre followed him immediately but not fast enough to enter the restroom with him.
"Evans…, Evans, don't do anything stupid! I know how you feel but it's not something you have to hurt yourself for, she still got a chance".
Suddenly he heard Arianna loud cry,his heart skipped. The news about Kate's death must have been passed to her,he thought.
Evans noticed Andre's sudden silence and Arianna's high pitch cry before that.
He knew what must have happened,he groaned out loudly,and yelled out his soul.
His voice made Andre teary, he could tell Evans was hurt and not just hurt, he was hurting badly.
After his loud cry, Evans slowly removed the dagger he was hiding beneath his baggy t-shirt with trembling hands and stabbed himself.
Andre called the security for the door lock, and they finally opened it.
He rushed to Evans.
"Are you alright?"
Evans didn't say anything,but walked maybe staggered out of the bathroom,his face pale like blood drained vampire victim.
As soon as he stepped out,Andre noticed blood dripping from his feet.
"Evans!"
He was horrified at the sight,the same minute Evans slumped immediately.
The nurses rushed to him, the dagger was still in his tummy,his blood was hidden by the dark red polo so the bleeding wasn't noticeable at first.
Andre held him. "Evans ,you don't die because of a woman! I understand but you can't die,this is no fairytale,don't be this naive! Evans! Evans!"
Andre's voice was fading in Evan's unconscious state,and turning into a more feminine voice ,then a gentle tap of hand on his shoulder woke him up.
He opened his red wet eyes, shocked and confused, sweating profusely.
He grabbed his tummy but felt no pain, he stabbed himself,how come he couldn't feel any pain.
Then looking up at the clock it was five hours already, could it be a dream?
"Evans"
A voice called again.
It was Kate's, she was the person that tapped him.
"Kate.."
He gasped lowly in doubt as tears clouded his eyes.
Kate was smiling broadly at him ,her eyes glistening with tears.
He thought he was dreaming, but then he looked at Arianna and Andre. They're smiling at him too.
They don't look surprised to see Kate awake, she must have been awake for an hour and decided to wake him now.
"Why are you crying, big baby?"Kate laughed softly and groaned a bit because of her neck pain.
"Kate".
Evans gasped again.
"Are you really crying because of me?"
Evans chuckled and brushed the tears from his eyes.
"Don't tease me,you scared me to death".
Kate smiled then suddenly,she pulled a long face, Evans studied her intently curious about the sudden emotion change.
"I was in a lonely place, I think I died actually ,your voice brought me back Evans, I have never heard you scream out that loud,I woke up and found you beside me"she sobbed.
"You saved me"this time she cried the words out.
Evans was speechless, he didn't know how to react to his joy, the tears rolling down his cheeks wasn't helping the situation.
"Kiss me will you?"
Kate demanded and giggled.
