BROKEN
“I don’t see us compatible”.
His message arrived.
It was a bombshell to Arianna, this is it, the moment, she would finally be happy with this stranger she had loved for Long.
“What are you saying,(laughing emoji) you haven't even met me, are you joking, please stop Teddy”.
She sent her reply and chuckled nervously at the bad joke.
But yet she couldn't control the heat of nervousness that had shaken her whole system ,her body was shivering as if she got a bad fever.
“Unicorn, listen, I am watching you right now”.
His message arrived.
“Then let me see you Teddy,please... at least we can talk it out, I am more beautiful at heart than physical, I don’t want to sound desperate but I really love you Teddy, please don’t do this”.
She typed with shaky fingers, trying to control her emotions.
“I am not doing this because of how low your beauty or class, you deserve more, I don’t want to ruin your day, believe me you won't want me either”.
“Don’t you lie to me Teddy”she texted back and sobbed fighting back her tears.
She looked around to see if she could identify him but it was impossible, I mean we are talking about a faceless man.
She stood up to her feet, her tears won't stop coming, her glance touching every corner of the large room.
"Teddy please"she texted again.
“ I can’t continue, eat and enjoy the night, you have nothing to lose after all”.
How can he say that, Arianna yelled in her mind.
How can he sound so cruel? She tried to chat with him immediately but got blocked.
Her heart raced at an unbelievable speed she did think she would pass out. She looked around not minding her tears, messing her mascara, then she saw a man leaving the restaurant.
She guessed him to be Teddy and quickly rushed out but it was too late, he was already gone.
Ignoring the people watching, she cried her soul out.
A Lot of people were staring at her, like she did lost her mind.
Then her phone ranged, she glanced at it absentmindedly as tears continued flowing down her cheeks.
It was Tianna, probably calling to know how the date was going.
Just then she heard her name, turning around she found two of her colleagues.
The face of the company Julia and her best friend Kate.
"Oh my gosh, what happened, are you okay?"
They walked towards her.
Arianna knew they didn't mean it in a nice way but as a mockery. She tried not to cry and look pathetic, cleaning the tears around her jaw.
She stepped aside pretending to care less about their presence.
"I have a boyfriend Teddy,he is so caring ..bla... bla I thought the girl was joking, I mean who would settle for this"Julia stated, her friend laughed.
"Well she wasn't, Teddy is real. Man took one look at her and knew he deserved better,"the other added. They both crack up.
"Well just in case he left the bill for you honey, I will pay it , don't cry too much ,you gonna mess up your makeup,and stain the loaned outfit"Julia contributed.
They laughed again and walked towards the restaurant entry.
Tianna kept trying her number but she couldn’t answer it, she didn't know how, after everything, how will she face it and tell her friend that she was right all along,Arianna thought.
I was single and was bluffing about a lover, a lover who must have thought, let me give her little boring life something to hope on, I am so ashamed of myself for being such a childish adult, I never met him but yet why am I so hurt, she cried silently.
Her heart ached so bad, she had to hold on to her chest, but what did she expect anyway, it only worked because it was an anonymous date.
Her phone rang yet again, she had cried to the point where she had no tears left,so she had to pick up the courage to answer.
“Hello”.
“What the heck, why aren’t you picking up, you got us dead worried for Christ’s sake, you are on a blind date, not screw my friends date”.
“Us?” Arianna asked curiously.
“Well Max is here too, waiting for you I guess,now tell me, are you two going to spend the night together or what?”
“Why should we? We are not together anymore Tianna” Arianna scuffed out a sad laughter, tears clouding her eyes, resisting all her effort to push it all down.
“Girl, you are bad at jokes, were you two ever together?” Tianna teased.
Aurora laughed sadly and sniffed.
“You are right anyway Tianna, we are never together and without even coming to my face, he broke up with me right here, he doesn’t want me Tianna”.
“Are you pulling my legs Arianna?”Tianna asked, still in doubt.
Arianna lips drew into a lazy grin, she blinked her eyes to seal the tears.
“I think his exact words were, I have seen you and believe me you deserve better, he should have at least let me see him and decide if I want anyone better, I felt so much alive talking with on the phone, I thought we had a thing you know, I was just being a desperate bitch, just desperate for love”.
She arched her brows as she struggled not to break down again.
”Oh Arianna”Tianna gasped in a tone that made her feel even more pathetic and tear up.
“I guess this is it, Tianna, I am bad luck” Arinna sobbed.
“No you are not, don’t let that jerk make you feel inferior about yourself, he is right about one thing baby, you deserve better, now honey please stay wherever you are, I am coming right over there please don’t do anything silly”.
Arianna nodded feverishly and put the phone down slowly.
“Hello….hello…Ari?”
When Arianna ignored her for minutes, she hung up and Arianna knew she must be on her way to get her.
She went and sat on the entrance staircase like a lost soul seeking refuge, ignoring the stares from the hotel guests and passersby.

As soon as the call ended, Tianna picked her jacket up and rushed to the room to get her car keys, returning back to the sitting room, Max who had been curious about the sudden change, walked up to her.
“What happened, why are you all pale, what did she say happened? Is she alright?”
“No Max, I don’t think so, Teddy broke up with her, he didn’t even consider her important to meet and talk to, from her explanation, he was right there but she never met with him”.
“What a jerk, how can he treat her like a mere thing, he could at least sit with her and talk things out than…poor Ari” Max cursed out angrily.
Tianna sighed heavily and turned to face him.
“To think that I was actually teasing her about Teddy not being interested in her and not loving her as much as she loves him, now I feel so terrible she must have wailed that I told her so, I don’t know what to do to make her feel better”.
She inhaled deeply. “I have to go and get her home, are you coming?”.
“Of course I am coming with you”.

Opposite the Restaurant,Andre was watching her from his car window.
Why do I feel so bad about this, it was supposed to be easy, he thought.
But still his fingers itched to send her a message as anonymous again but his ego? or fear of rejection? hatred?
He can’t just point at the exact purpose but he is very sure of one thing, she would never expect her Teddy to be someone like him.
This woman hated him and slapped him in front of his employees and staff, he won't let her humiliate him again.
No woman will ever do that to him again as long as he lives,he had sworn many years ago until he met her,and she must be the last to dare it.
He stared at her again, furious then he hissed, inwardly cursing at the sudden feeling of pity towards her.
Why should I care so much about a person I never met, or a rude employee who challenged me in front of everyone at the company? I should be happy I humiliated the girl, who messed with me, he thought out loud.
Deep down he knew he still can’t deny he had a thing with the one, who I dated online and now why this strange feeling of void and fear of letting her go, he doesn't like this feeling not even a bit.
Andre cursed and tried to wave off the thought of her from his mind but it seemed impossible, like she had gotten into his head and completely owned it.
Knowing her in person, had replaced the face, he had imagined all this while for his unicorn.
Fighting not to stare,he found himself glancing again towards the window again.
He saw a man and a woman there, the lady was consoling her and he recognized the male friend as his employee.
"You can drive now".
He ordered his driver coldly.
"Yes young master".
