Chapter sixteen
Noah Williams
Thank God for Melinda holding my hands tightly or else I would have embarrassed myself by falling flat on my face. The thought of that actually happening made my palm sweaty.
Mr John philp works up to I and marinda together with his grandson Xavier.
"Hey Mr Noah Williams. I glad you and your finacee accepted my invitation." Mr John philp said when he got closer to I and marinda. He was wearing a gray suit that fitted him perfectly with a red tie matching with his grandson Xavier.
"It's my pleasure. I wouldn't miss this for anything else." I said to Mr John philp,he nodded his head,he gave a smile to marinda which she also returned . I turned my attention towards Xavier.
"hey, Xavier how are you." I said waving at him while he raised his hands in greating.
"I'm fine sir." He said shyly with a smile that lit up my heart with an unknown feeling,he came out of the hole he was hiding which in this case was behind his grandfathers legs.
" Please call me Noah. Sir makes me feel old."I told him playfully patting his hair.
I shifted my gaze from Xavier's smiling face back to his grandfathers but I got distracted by a man i couldn't recognize,he held Victoria by the waist from far both of them having an intense chat,they were too close to each other for my liking. I felt my blood boil to hundred degrees at how close there were to eachother, thankfully no smoke was coming out of my ears.
My fist was clenched to my side,I could feel my hand sweezing something tightly,a yelp of pain brought me back to reality.
Marinda seems to noticed my change of behavior since she was closer to me and my hands were practically sweezing the life out of hers ,I unclenched my fist from her but my eyes were till focused on Victoria and the unknown man.
Victoria remove the unknown man hands from her waist,you could see he wasn't too happy by her action . She eyes landed on my face ,like she felt my eyes on her the whole time,she left his side and and walked towards our direction the unknown man walking reluctantly by her side.
Mr John looked at Victoria who hasn't removed her eyes from me the whole time and I also couldn't look away from her she was too beautiful for her own good. She looked like a goddess as she sway her hips like she was walking for Victoria secret fashion show. It's staring competition.
She got closer to us and stood by her father side his left while the unknown man occupied her right side.
"Victoria. These his Mr Noah Williams,he his one of our valuable partners I told you about. You will be working more with him in future dealings." Her father spoke out. He has told her about me?I wondered what he said ,I really wanted to make a good impression to the women I was once inlove with before Victoria John came into my life,my heart.
" Really?, Nice meeting you Mr Noah Williams. I'm Victoria John philp." Victoria Philip said extending her hands out for me to shake which I returned almost immediately. Her hands were so soft but firm and tight. My bones were crushing internally from how tight her grip was.
"Hmm...same too." I was losing my cool because of a beautiful lady. Did she just introduce her self as Victoria John philp. I never knew John was her middle name. Victoria John philp, interesting almost like Victoria -
"And I am marinda his finacee and his future wife to be." Marinda said interrupting my thoughts and our prolong handshake. You could tell she was getting jealous from both of us shaking hands. Shaking Victoria was like a painful dream coming true. I could tell she was sending a clear message to Victoria Philip by her last statement'future wife to be.'
" Oh.." Victoria Philip said with a smirk on her face. Why was smirking? Her gaze left mine for a moment to marinda then back to mine,her smirking growing wider it was kind of scary.
"Oh my manners,it nice meeting you also the finacee." Her voice was soft as velvet, I felt my pants tightening by just the sound.
I looked into her eyes and there was something so familiar about that blue pairs I couldn't place my hands on. It's like I know it but at the same time I didn't.
"And am also miss Victoria Philip financee. My name is Andrew McKinney." The man said shaking marinda hands. Then his gaze focused on me, like he also wanted to shake mine but thankfully Mr John philp interrupted us.
"Ok now that the introduction has been completed let all enjoy the party. And also Mr Noah I would love to invite you for dinner tomorrow night at my house.please don't refuse this, I will be very happy with you if you accept my invitation."
" Of course Mr John, thanks for the offer. It's a pleasure." I replied politely,I could feel the heated glare from marinda burning the side of my face.
" No problem,I would like you to discuss more with my daughter and get to know each other especially about future dealings."
" That will be later dad, because right now I still have other of your business associate to be introduce to. The night is still young there nothing to rush ourselves in getting to know each other isn't that right Mr Williams." She said the last part slowly,I loved the way my name rolled out her tongue. I bet it will also sound better when she screamed my name in bed.
All eyes look at me from my lack of response,I felt so uncomfortable at the sudden attention.
Yes of course." I muttered back to her. I watch her leave with her finance following behind her like a lost boy.
"I will be expecting you." Mr John philp said and left with Xavier, I felt the urge to become closer to the little boy xavier. He reminded me of little me.
"I getting a drink at the bar, do you want some." Malinda said snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Yes, thanks. I will go take a seat"Marinda left to the direction of the bar and I walked to the direction of the chair were my name was written on.
People where drinking and having fun. Expensive champagne and exclusive dishes was served on the table. I was hungry ,I didn't eat at home before coming. I digged into the food before me not bothering to wait for Melinda to join me after all she made me loose my appetite.
"Can I have some food." I looked down to see little Xavier looking at me with sweet beautiful puppy eyes which u couldn't resist. I thought he left with his grandfather.
"Sure. Take a seat champ." he took the seat by my side which was meant to be occupied by Malinda.
I gave him my plate to eat even though I was still a little bit hungry and watch. He digged into the meal happily, I felt conflicted by the numerous emotions going inside me. His face was messing with my head,it's like I was looking at a mirror. He finishes the meal and smile at me ,I swear I felt my heart stopped walking
"So Mr Noah what do you do." Xavier asked me , green eyes shining with curiosity. He no longer looked like the shy boy from minutes ago but a young handsome boy that looked interested in something which happens to be me.
"Hm...am a business man just like your grandfather." I replied back to him. I used my hands and signal the waiter to bring more food. I was hungry.
" And also like my mother?." He asked boringly, almost yawing, it was more of a statement than a question. I looked at him , surprised by his sudden change of attitude.
" Yes. Also like your mother." The waiter brought the food and I dug into it immediately.
"I don't want to be a business man in future. "His words made me pause my meal. I took the napkin to clean my mouth and looked at him. He looked so serious.
" Why?who is going to inherit your father and mother property."
" I don't know and I don't care. My mother doesn't have time for me. All she does is work work work. I don't want to be like her, and for my father he his no different from my father."
" It's not like that kid, she has to work to feed you. I'm sure she's doesn't really work all the time. And for your father am also sure that not true. I mean who wouldn't want a fine young man like you as a son. " Seriously the thought was crazy, I wished I have a son and he looked as good as this handsome boy infront of me.
" She works all the time. She doesn't love me. Can I be your friend." I was taken aback by his questions,of course I wanted to be friends with him.
" yes Xavier,I can be your friend. will you be mine."
" Of course it's means we get to a lot of cool stuff like playing video games,my grandpa just got me a new Xbox." He rambled,his nose had a little bit of frackles. I took a glass of wine and gave Xavier a glass of water.
"Let's cheers to the beginning of a new found friendship." We click our glasses together,huge smile plastered on our faces.
" Cheers Noah hopefully I can get you to be my father."
" Sorry boy did you say something." I would have swore I heard him say something. I was too distracted by finishing the meal in front of me.
" No-"
" Xavier!." His mother called out from behind him.
He turned his little body to face her,his hands shaking like he just did something bad.
"Oh oh"
