He led me outside and to our car. Without a word he pushed me against the car and nodded his head to the door before getting in the driver's seat. I got the message and opened the passenger door and slipped into my seat.
At least Amy was gone.... where'd she go?
Kaden was staring out the window. His bloody hands gripped the steering wheel in a tight hold and his chest heaved softly. He didn't look at me as he started the car and the muscle in his jaw ticked as he ground his teeth.
He was quiet as we drove his eyes never drifting to me. His mouth didn't open to say anything other than growl every once in a while. His quietness scared me more than him yelling.
I'd rather have him yelling, at least then I'd know what he was thinking. His silence made me wonder just what was going on in that mind of his.
"Kaden-" I began not able to take his muteness any longer.
"Please... not right now..." He said and I paused at the almost brokenness to his voice. One I was shocked he'd said 'please' and secondly he sounded so hurt that it threw me off guard.
I stopped trying to talk and looked out the window. I could sense he was still angry and I sighed softly.
Suddenly he stepped on the gas and the car started going steadily faster.
My heart hammered as we went around sharp bends and Kaden sped up during turns instead of slowing down. I closed my eyes at one point because I was certain we were going to crash into another car, but Kaden swerved around it.
"You're going to kill us!" I yelled and he only glanced at me for a moment before continuing to drive like a madman...
I huffed as the car screeched to a stop in the driveway and Kaden got out and slammed the door shut.
I watched as he paced beside the car. His moves erratic and sudden. His eyes glowed with his wolf.
Yep he was pissed.
I debated on whether or not to get out of the car at the moment. Right now seemed to be suicide.
I bit my lip anxiously as I watched him through the window. Suddenly he turned to me.
"Amelia get out of the car." Kaden growled and I paused at his muffled voice.
"No. Not until you calm down." I said loud enough so he'd hear me.
He growled and marched toward the car and I quickly locked the doors. I stared at him as he fumbled with the door handle. After a few moments he paused and pulled out the keys from his pocket and unlocked the car. I frowned as he opened the door and glared at me.
"Get out." He said and I shook my head. He sucked on his teeth then nodded curtly before lunging into the car and hauling me out and dumping me on the ground. He slammed the car door shut and glared down at me from where I was sitting ungraciously on the ground and in a bit of pain from being dropped on cement.
Kaden frowned and growled, "Next time listen." He huffed and I scowled at him.
"Or what?" I spat back. He wrinkled his brow.
"You really wanna go there with me?" Kaden snarled and I laughed bitterly.
"You're just mad -or are you jealous?- that I kissed--" I didn't have time to finish my sentence before Kaden picked me up and slammed me against the car. He leaned his face close to mine.
"You're mouth is going to get people killed." Kaden snarled and pressed against me. His hands gripped my waist and I struggled against him.
"Get away from me." I spat and managed to push him off.
"You're mine Amelia." Kaden growled.
"I don't want to be yours!" I yelled and for a moment everything stopped. We stared at each other in silence.
"You're mine, whether you like it or not." Kaden snarled after the break, his eyes dark and angry.
"Whatever." I growled and turned beginning to walk away.
"Amelia!" Kaden boomed and I rolled my eyes and kept walking.
I growled as his hand grabbed my arm and I whirled around and punched him in his jaw. He let go and felt his mouth snarling softly at his now bleeding lip.
I glared at him my chest heaving in anger. His golden eyes gleamed with rage.
Without a word he pulled off his clothing and shifted into his black and white wolf. He snarled at me and snapped his jaws while baring his fangs.
I shed my clothes and turned as well. I growled at him and he pounced.
We rolled around on the ground, biting and clawing. Snarls of rage and pain echoed in my ears, coming from both of us as skin was torn and bloodshed was made. I yelped as he bit down on my paw and I tore into his flank.
The scent of blood was thick in the air and we fought on. We both managed to pin each other down at times, but would lose the upper hand when we'd get thrown off or clawed and bit. Claws slashed against muzzles. Teeth burrowed into flesh. Bodies smashed against one another.
Neither of us wanted to call it quits. Everything was going into this fight. To lose would be to submit. If we kept this up someone if not both was going to be seriously injured.
"Stop it!" A yell made us rip apart from each other and I whirled around to see Nancy staring with big saucer eyes.
I instantly shifted back and tugged on my clothes. I took in a deep breath.
"It's okay Nancy." I said coming to stand in front of her. I sighed and combed my fingers through her curly blonde hair. She hugged my legs and looked up at me. I winced.
"Are you okay?" She asked staring at the bleeding wounds on me and I nodded.
"I'm fine." I said and she frowned then looked at me to Kaden who was standing some ways off. He'd dressed as well.
"Why were you fighting?" She asked looking up at me, her blue eyes watery and it broke my heart.
"That's just what we do sweetie." I whispered and she frowned.
"That's stupid." She said and I raised my eyebrows.
"Yes, you're not wrong about that." I said and hoisted her up, ignoring the pain.
"You should be in bed. It's almost midnight." I said then added playfully, "The Fairy Godmother would be disappointed." She smiled softly for a moment.
"You're the Queen of hearts and he's King Heartless. So why does a queen stay with an evil king?" Nancy said and gave me a look and I was left dumbfounded.
What would you say to that?
"Do you love him?" Nancy whispered and I cleared my throat. Luckily Kaden wasn't in earshot.
"Bedtime." I said and carried her inside.
It wasn't long before I had her tucked in and she looked up at me. A shadow suddenly blocked some of the light from the hallway and I knew who it was without having to think.
"I love you Amelia." Nancy said and I smiled before kissing her forehead.
"I love you too little one, now go to sleep." I said and she smiled softly before snuggling her head against her pillow.
I stepped away from her and turned. My eyes landed on Kaden leaned against the doorframe and I scowled, my smile fading.
I walked up to him and waited for him to move aside before going out and shutting Nancy's door behind me.
We walked down the hallway in tense silence before a door opened.
"Amelia-Kaden... is everything alright?" Ryan said coming out of his room and staring at us. His eyes lingered on our healing wounds.
"Just fine. Get back to bed." Kaden growled gruffly and shoved me toward the room.
"Kade--" Ryan began and the alpha growled.
"Don't make me have to kick your ass Ryan." My mate snarled and the beta glared at him.
He met my eyes and I shook my head, telling him silently not to start anything.
"Fine. But if she yells for me I won't care that you're alpha or not." The beta growled and with one last look at me he went back into his room.
"Are you fucking Ryan too?" Kaden growled as soon as the beta's door shut and my mouth gaped.
"I'm fucking no one, you're such an asshole." I snarled and shoved him. He growled and grabbed my wrists before yanking me into our room.
