New Alpha
"They never liked me anyway."
Amelia's POV
6 months later*
"Eww you're so disgusting." An annoying voice said and I fought the urge to hurry away. I looked up to see Amy. Her long blonde hair flowed beside her and her blue eyes narrowed at me. I teetered back on forth on my heels and looked away from her.
"Ugh you're such an ugly Omega. I mean look at you. You're mate will be so disappointed." She hissed and I nodded softly. Inside my wolf growled. She hated that we were submissive but I held her back in fear we may be exiled from the pack. An Omega attacking a pack member? Some packs would cast away or even kill such a wolf. So we remained docile.
"I need to get the broom?" I said almost like a question for the she beast was blocking the pantry and I had a kitchen to sweep.
"Don't talk to me." Amy hissed and I waited for her to move. An abrupt slap to the face caused me to look up at her. The hit really didn't hurt but I feigned pain and whimpered. That slap was nothing compared to an alpha's raging blows. My wolf howled in anger though at the fact we'd been struck. Amy smirked evilly and walked away her blonde hair bouncing.
"Bitch." I muttered and opened the pantry door. This kitchen needed to be spotless after all some alpha's son was returning from training today or something? We'd be hosting the party.
I'd never seen him but apparently he's a big shot and is Amy's boyfriend? Well she says he's her boyfriend. I'm not sure about the whole thing.
I began sweeping and soon I was finished. I placed the broom back and closed the door.
It wasn't long before Heather the cook was in the kitchen making food.
"Amelia why don't you help me?" She said in her soft voice. She was the only one who actually knew my name really everyone else just called me Omega. Her graying black short hair was in tight curls. I shook my head and sighed.
"You know Omegas aren't allowed to do that." I said and looked at the ground. She huffed and frowned.
"Well I make the rules of this kitchen and I say you can. To hell with these petty pack rules." Heather growled.
"Amelia you are worth so much more." She added and gave me a look of sympathy which I quickly avoided. I didn't want pity. Yet it was understandable why she was like that; I had told her of my past.
"I'm sorry Heather but I cannot break pack rule. If I was to be thrown out I'd have no one." I breathed staring at my feet, bare because I had no shoes.
"You'd have me." She said in a serious tone and I managed a glance at her.
"That's very kind, but I cannot ask you to do that. You're life is with this pack." I said and she let out an exasperated sigh.
"I'll always have your back young lady. Don't you forget that." She said and went back to cooking.
"I won't." I said and hurried away to my room.
It was a nice room... better than the cells I'd once inhabited. It had creaky wood floors and a rather old bed. A marred dresser sat beside the window. It wasn't beautiful or breathtakingly gorgeous, but it was a warm room with a bed so I was happy to have it.
I sat on the bed with a sigh. Outside I could hear people buzzing with excitement for the alpha's son's arrival. Not only was he arriving but he'd be taking over his pack soon so there'd be extra guests at the party tonight.
To say I was excited would be a horrible lie.
Sure it was nice to have a new alpha ruling a pack, but I still didn't really trust alphas. And the fact that the to-be alpha had something going on with Amy was even worse... Apparently he had a terrible judge of character because that she-beast was straight evil.
I groaned as I slipped on a white shirt and dark blue jean shorts. The party had begun and it was mandatory that everyone attend. I walked down the corridors toward the back door and frowned as I looked out of the windows. the mass array of people would have been enough to discourage me from ever going to a party again, even if my first is forced.
I sighed and gripped the cold door handle in my hand and slunk out of the house immediately going into the shadows to avoid most of the commotion. People chatted and laughed some argued quietly when they thought no one was watching... it was quite amusing to observe from the darkness. Everyone seemed to be having mostly a jovial time. I wonder if it was like this at all Alpha ceremonies? Huh, probably not.
I smiled awkwardly as a couple passed me. They'd been sharing tongues moments ago yet figured no one saw, but I did. I'm not so sure if sticking to the shadows was a good idea because now my stomach churned and I felt the need to throw up. I shuddered as they melted back into the crowd.
With a shrug I stepped out of the darkness and made my way toward the tables. Buffets of food graced the large tables and I grabbed a corndog. I put a little ketchup and mustard on it and took a bite reveling in the mouth watering taste. I swiveled on my heels and made my way away from the horde of people I had to go through to get to the food. Suddenly a scent hit my nose and I froze. It couldn't be...
I sunk into the crowd and looked around. My body tensed as I scanned the crowd.
"Amelia?" A deep voice said behind me and I felt my heart lurch. I turned slowly and gasped at the man before me.
I dropped my corndog.
I stared at his large muscled frame and his dark hair, captivated by his blue eyes.
"Axel?" I breathed and a smile broke out on his face. Without warning he lunged at me and took me up in his arms. I yelped in surprise as he spun me around and finally after a while he put me down. I held onto him for support as I tried to shake off my dizziness. His hands laid on my waist as he studied me.
"Look at you. You're all better. I knew they'd help you. Where are your shoes?" He rambled and stopped when he looked down at my bare feet. I bit my lip softly.
"I'm an Omega." I said and he frowned and a growl rumbled in his throat.
"Omega? They made you Omega?" He snarled and I blinked and nodded.
"Where's Alpha?" I asked in a soft voice and Axel immediately tensed and snarled softly.
"I left him when we got here... I'm beta now Amelia. Trust me he won't hurt you ever again." Axel whispered to me and added, "He probably wont even recognize you."
"Not recognize his own daughter? Come on Axel you know he will." I hissed feeling annoyance creep into me followed by indignation.
"I see you've still got the Alpha fight in you. Remember Amelia you have Alpha blood... so why stay in the Omega position? You are a fighter; any other wolf would've died in those cells but you didn't. You stayed strong; even when you were at your weakest... you held on until I got you out. And I didn't rescue you just so you could be a measly Omega. I expect great things from you Amelia." Axel said with a soft growl to his words.
"Thank you." I said and he smiled and wrapped me in a hug.
"I would do it all again in a heartbeat. You know it took a week for that bite of yours to heal? Nice work it fit well with my 'you attacked me and escaped' excuse." He chuckled and I smirked.
"Amelia?" I heard a soft voice and turned in Axel's arms to see Heather looking confused. I looked at her and shuffled my feet before saying, "This is Axel..."
Heather gasped and threw herself at us hugging both of us and saying, "Thank you Axel. If it wasn't for you I'd've never met this wonderful girl." I giggled at her words and Axel chuckled.
"No problem ma'am. It was my pleasure." Axel said throwing an arm over my shoulders and pulling me close to him.
I blushed at our closeness and Heather chuckled.
"He's here!" Someone yelled and everyone paused. I glanced away from Heather and we waited like everyone else to see the alpha's son.
And he wasn't just any alpha's son. He was the Ravenwolf boy.
A black car pulled up to the house and parked. Everyone watched as the door opened and out stepped a young man. I looked at him and gasped.
Disheveled brown hair was a mess atop his head and he looked tuckered out and tried. His broad shoulders were slumped and his intimidating god-like body looked worn down. His cold, dark gold eyes looked over the crowd with obvious distaste.
Suddenly he brightened up and shook the tired look from his body.
"Kaden!" I felt a frown come to my face as I watched as Amy flounced over to him and wrapped her arms around him. She leaned in to kiss him and a growl rumbled in my throat.
Heather and Axel gave me a questioning look and I smiled as Kaden leaned away from her. Amy gave him a pouty look and he shrugged and started toward the crowd a determined look on his face. I had to admit he was good looking, a little too good looking.
"Kaden..." My alpha started and made his way toward him but Kaden only looked over him and started searching through the crowd.
"What are you doing?" The Luna said coming to stand beside her mate. Kaden just frowned and growled.
"My mate's here. Where are you mate?" Kaden said and I felt something stir in me. No way.
"Kaden baby-" Amy started.
"Don't 'baby' me you whore." The new alpha growled and suddenly his eyes snapped to me. Electricity zapped between us and his eyes darkened. I took a step back.
"Mate come." Kaden said in a deep luring voice. He held out his hand to me and I looked away. Axel tensed beside me and Kaden locked his eyes on the beta.
"Let go of my mate." Kaden snarled and Axel dropped his arm from my shoulders. Out of all werewolves I get an Alpha as a mate... no. I couldn't deal with this again. I stumbled away from him as people gasped.
"The Omega?!" Someone yelled. I turned tail and ran.
