We'd been laying together for some time before I moved some and my member pulled out a little. I huffed and pulled all the way out and managed not to wake my mate in the process. Amelia's soft breaths blew out on my chest as she slept and I couldn't resist giving her a soft kiss to the temple. Amelia moaned and clung to me. I chuckled at her and she snuggled closer.

Then it hit me. The fuck was I doing? I was supposed to be avoiding her and here I was... screwing her over... and over.

Amelia's POV

I woke up feeling admittedly good. But of course that didn't last very long.

I glanced over to Kaden's sleeping form and sat up. I felt strange. I looked toward the door.

"What are you doing up?" I jumped slightly at my mate's growl and looked back to find him awake and watching me.

I glanced to the window and the light peaking through.

"It's morning." I said softly.

The alpha growled and turned away from me with a huff. Without a word he got up and went to the bathroom slamming the door behind him. I frowned and my jaw ticked in frustration.

He finally came out with a scowl that could kill.

"Why are you so angry?" I shot at him. He fixed his look on me and Rain growled and bared her fangs.

"You made me have sex on her day! I told you to just leave it alone and look what happened!" Kaden yelled and I frowned.

"Now wait a damn minute. You did all that. I was going to go to Noah's. You're the one who made me stay." I said and Kaden frowned. My arms crossed over my chest before I let out a frustrated huff, "I could've left."

"You were going to fuck Noah." Kaden growled out and I shrugged.

"Tell me this Kaden. If you didn't want me last night... Why didn't you stop?" I said glancing at him for long enough to catch the look of turmoil on his face. He growled and got back into bed.

"You were in heat and my instincts reacted." He finally said. With a growl he turned away and pushed his face into his pillow.

"I'm going back to sleep. Please be quiet." He huffed and tugged the covers over his shoulders. One of his arms laid over my waist and I glanced at it.

I felt a tug at my heart and nodded.

I glanced around as I heard a subtle sound and I trained my ears on it.

Then I heard it again a buzzing sound. It was my phone sitting on the couch. I wriggled slowly out of Kaden's grasp which was hard to do. My breath caught as he grunted and I froze. I waited a second before slipping out of his grasp entirely and creeping over to my phone. I looked at the ID and smiled when I saw Noah with heart emojis beside it. I answered it without hesitation.

"Hello?" I whispered shooting a glance back at Kaden who was still asleep in bed.

"Amelia? Are you okay? Where are you? I had this weird dream and-" Noah started frantically. I smiled softly.

"I'm fine Noah I-" my whisper stopped when I saw my mate shuffle on the bed and I held my breath. He stopped and groaned settling back down and sighing. I let out my breath.

"What is it?" Noah pestered worriedly.

"Hold on a second." I breathed tiptoeing to the bathroom and shutting the door.

"I'm fine Noah I'm just occupied." I said when I was behind the closed door.

"With who?" Noah asked sounding anxious.

"Who do you think..." I said sheepishly not sure what to say.

"Kaden... has he hurt you?" Noah said sounding hard. I felt my face grow hot.

"No. We... I was in heat; I was going to come to you but... he wouldn't let me." I sighed.

"Did he ermm... rape you?" Noah said sounding angered and tense. I froze, did I hear him right? I scoffed in shock.

"I know I shouldn't have let you stay there." Noah said sounding guilty. I chocked back a sob I didn't know was coming. I was starting to break and I knew it.

"No Noah, he didn't rape me, he just, took advantage of the situation." I said softly. Noah growled.

"It's okay Noah, really." I said feeling like the world had just dropped on me. Everything about my life sucked.

"I don't know why you put up with his shit Amelia." Noah growled. I felt myself breaking all the way down.

"I don't get it. You go to him then come to me, like I'm supposed to make everything better. Amelia I love you, but I can't sit here and act like I'm okay with this. You're mine and I'm not going let some prick run over you." Noah spat over the phone. I never heard him like this. I felt my heart shattering all over again but this time more intense than ever.

"It's okay." I croaked. Tears streamed down my face. I covered my face with my hands and my phone fell out of my hand. I would've picked it up but I was too busy crying. Loud sobs exploded from me as I fell to the ground hugging myself.

The door to the bathroom suddenly swung open and in rushed Kaden.

"What's wrong?" He asked me but I couldn't answer him. He saw my phone and snatched it up. He brought it to his ear.

"Who's this?... What?.... Don't try me mutt.... Yeah I did.... She's my mate you-what?- I don't have time for this shit." Kaden growled and hung up the phone. He placed it by the sink and kneeled down in front of me.

"Why were you talking to that mutt?" He grumbled holding my shoulders. I was shaking.

"I didn't- I didn't think it mattered to you; you just used me for sex." I growled pushing away from him and going back into the room.

"It's not like its my fault." Kaden growled following me and shutting the bathroom door and I scoffed.

"Who's fault was it then?" I asked crossing my arms.

"Yours." He growled. I shook my head and laughed humorlessly.

"How?" I countered and my mate frowned.

"You kept talking about sex. Then you put on that damn dress and you kept fucking moaning when I touched you. So I had to." Kaden growled anger flashing in his eyes.

"And after your shower? What's your excuse for that? Because I didn't want to, but you made me." I said raising my eyebrows.

"You were staring at me with those damn eyes and looking like a fucking goddess and bullshit you know damn well you wanted me to." Kaden snarled and I frowned.

"I did not! Why would I want to? Kaden I knew you were going to do this; that's why I wanted you to fucking stop! There wasn't any point in doing all the things you did to me, your mate, if you don't even love me! I love you! And I hate myself because of it..." I felt my breath hitch in my throat.

"Okay then." Kaden said nonchalantly and ran a hand through his hair. I bit the inside of my cheek.

"You're such an asshole." I shot back and he gave me a glare.

"Took you long enough to notice, sweetheart." He said in an aggressive manner and I looked away from him.

"I wish you weren't my mate." I gritted out and Kaden growled darkly.

"Shut up." He spat and before I could respond he'd left the room with a slam of the door. By how many times it'd been slammed I was surprised it wasn't broken.
