"You are my everything."
Kaden's POV
I rolled out of bed and stumbled to the bathroom. Quickly my hands grasped the facet handles and I turned on the cold water.
Doing my best to ignore the pain inside me I splashed the cold water on my face, but soon whimpers were escaping my throat, clogging it up with a grieving sadness.
They'd taken advantage of my Amelia. I'd felt it.
I looked at my reddened eyes for a bit before slamming my fists against the counter and turning off the water. I took some deep breaths, trying to calm myself, leaving the bathroom and making my way out of my room.
I trudged down the stairs feeling numb and at a loss. My feet walked aimlessly and I ended up in the living room. I pulled up short as I saw my parents, uncles, aunt, beta and Nancy all talking amongst each other in the room.
I looked around at everyone and felt my heart clench again. I felt like I was going to throw up. My mother stopped talking and glanced at me with concerned eyes.
"Kaden, what's wrong?" She asked and I frowned and ran a hand through my hair.
"Someone raped her..." I growled softly. My frown deepened and I felt my lip quiver.
"What?"
"Someone raped my mate!" I snarled and clasped my hands behind my head.
The room went dead silent.
"Oh Goddess.." Aunt Lexi sighed.
I glanced around the large room. The Alphas and Lunas of the packs had all joined together at the request of my parents.
We'd been debating for hours and I was beyond annoyed.
We'd decided, most of us at least, to unite the packs against the rogues... Some leaders were being more difficult than others though.
"And what if we don't join?" Alpha Bacur asked and I bared my fangs at him.
"Then Goddess have mercy on you because I sure as hell won't." I spat.
"Look just because they have your mate doesn't mean we have to help. Maybe she should've stayed here." The Alpha stated. I growled softly.
"She couldn't. Her mother is in charge of the damned thing. She had to go." I growled.
"Oh really? Well maybe she's working with them-" he started and I leapt from my chair instantly ready for a fight.
"Now Kaden." He said and I wrenched him out of his chair and snarled.
"Don't you ever disrespect my mate like that again. She didn't ask for this. I swear if you say some shit like that again I'll kill you." I spat and shoved him back into the seat.
"You know this is grounds for war." He growled back to me and I sneered.
"You know damn well what will happen to your pack if you go to war with mine." I snapped and after a few moments Alpha Bacur looked away and the fight left his eyes. I huffed and emitting an aggravated growl stalked back to my chair.
"Is that all?" I asked looking around the room and no one else said anything.
We settled on fighting together and the meeting was dismissed....
It'd been a month of battles. Every week there was at least five. The packs had joined together to fight the common enemy.
It was mayhem. My father and mother led one front, I led another, others led others; it was chaos. And we were no closer to finding my mate.
My poor mate...
We'd captured rogues, but none if them would talk. Every single one was killed off after hours of interrogation. The packs were growing restless.
These battles were taking their tole on all of us.
My fangs snapped around throats and ripped limbs apart. My claws tore and buried into soft flesh, staining my skin red. I grabbed a male rogue by his throat and lifted him up. His jaws gaped at me as he tried relentlessly to sink his teeth into me. His dark gray fur was matted with blood and mud.
I looked into his dark eyes and snarled squeezing harder into his throat. He gave one more try to bite me, his paws scratching vainly at my chest before I crushed his throat against my palm and he slumped to the ground dead.
Bodies became a blur of color as they whipped by. Howls of pain and anger filled the air as the battle drove on. I'd lost sight of Ryan, my parents and everyone else, and I just prayed they were all okay.
Everything was happening so fast.
"Get back!" My mother barked and hurled herself on top of a rouge. I watched in horror as more rogues piled on top of her. Fire began to lap at the ground.
"Mom!" I yelled watching the red-stained, pure white she-wolf fall to the ground in a heap of blinding fur.
I watched in fear that she may be gone.
A snarl to my side made me turn to see a rogue charging at me. He was too close for me to really react. His jaws gaped for my throat.
"Not my boy!" A screech rang out and a red-stained, pure white glob jumped between me and the wolf.
My mother crumpled to the ground her claws buried into the rogues gut and the wolf's jaws lodged in her throat.
With a whine the rogue stumbled back before dragging itself away, it's entrails slugging behind it.
My mother's orange and gold eyes looked at me as she collapsed on the ground. Her jaw slacked open and blood flowed slowly out. The gash in her throat let flow to a river of blood, only adding to the crimson on the ground. A rattling breath left her and the her eyes dulled. She lifeless eyes stared at me and my stomach flipped. Coldness wafted through my body.
"Mom?" I whimpered. No. She didn't just do that. Not for me.
I swallowed and prodded her, but her head only slid to the side. My throat tightened.
"Mom... get up." I groaned feeling tears prick my eyes.
She wasn't dead. She couldn't be dead.
"No! Firestorm! Katy! No!" My father howled pelting over and launching himself at the wolves that had surrounded her earlier.
"Katy! You bastards!" The former Alpha snarled and began tearing into them.
