Chapter 16

CHAPTER 16: Flight to Japan

Ivyna arrived at their house and wasted no time. She ignores her parents, who are engaged in a heated argument as they always do. She went straight to her room and packed everything she would need.

"Is that all? Do I miss something? Forgot? Think. Think." She panicky said while checking her language. "I think that's it."

She zipped up her language and began to mend herself. She quickly took a bath and went straight to her closet.

"What should I wear?" She asked herself, scanning her closet. "This one? Or this one?"

She then looked to the clock and her eyes widened as she saw the time.

"My gosh. One hour left!"

She rushed to put on the suit she bought last year. It's just a plain black dress with a belt. She rubbed her hair with the towel and dashed to the mirror. She straightened her hair and applied some light make-up to her face.

"Okay!" she pumped her lips together.

She checked herself onxe again on the mirror.

"Great!"she commented.

She wore simple brown sandals. She then picked up her language and left her room. She didn't bother saying goodbye to her parents, who are still yelling at each other.

She kept checking the time on her way to the office. She arrived at the company five minutes before the time her boss had specified. She ran as fast as she could to the elevator and stepped inside, breathing heavily.

"HAA!" She checked once again the time in her wrist watch. "4 minutes left."

Once the elevator opened, she ran towards the office and without knocking to the door, she held the doorknob and pushed the door.

When the elevator doors opened, she dashed into the office. Without knocking to the door, she held the doorknob and pushed the door to open.

"Good—" she sighed. "I-Im here, sir!"

Taese, who was about to sit down, was taken aback by her presence. He arrived a minute earlier than her.

"Good," Taese said. "I booked us a flight. We need to get going now."

"A-As in now?!" Ivyna heavily asked. "Can I... I take a short break?"

"No." He then walked passed by her. "Let's go. You can rest in my car."

Ivyna had no choice but to roll her eyes and follow him. She was only a few inches away from him, murmuring. Taese, on the other hand, was aware of what she was doing.

They arrived at the parking lot, and Taese rung his car. He then opened the door and went inside. Ivyna, on the other hand, quietly rolled her eyes and walked over to the opposite door.

The car filled by the silence once Taese drove away.

Ivyna rested her head on the headboard and gazed out the window at the building they were passing.

'What's the feeling riding an airplane?' She thought. 'Gosh. I'm a bit nervous. It's my first time riding that kind of transportation.'

They arrived at the airport without taking to each other.

"Take my car to my house." Taese handed to man his keys. "And you can take one week leave until we back. I'll just call you."

The man nodded. "Yes, sir."

Taese nodded and looked to Ivyna. He gestured the way and started to walked. Ivyna followed him.

It's a private plan that's why they are the only people on it. The flight attendant guided them through they way until thry reached their seats.

"The food will arrive in a minute, Sir Taese," an mid-30's lady said. "Anything you want?"

Taese and Ivyna locked their seatbelts.

"No, nothing. I will call you once we need something," Taese said.

The lady nodded and bowed her head before she left.

Taese looked at the woman beside him. Ivyna was busy scanning the plane.

"First time?"

Ivyna shifted her glaze to him. "Y-Yes."

"I can assure you, we're not gonna fall," he chuckled.

"I-I'm not thinking that!"

"Well," Taese saw her hands was shaking while holding on the seat. "Obviously, you're nervous."

"Cause it's my first time! That's it! I'm not a dumb or kid to think tjat we're gonna fall." She said.

'But I hope we're not.' She thought.

"Okay."

"We'll gonna take off in a minutes. Fasten your seatbelt." Someone announced.

Ivyna gripped her hands onto the handle. She couldn't deny that she was feelinf nervous and afraid. She then closed her eyes to refrain the negative feelings.

Taese smiled watching her.

The food arrived 5 minutes after they take off. Ivyna couldn't eat her food becuase of what she was feeling. So, instead eating, she just take a nap. While Taese sipped on his cup.

A couple of hours had passed, Ivyna fell asleep. And her head fell on Taese's shoulder. Taese looked at her but she was sleeping peacefully. Instead moving her head away on his shoulder, he put his head on her head and closed his eyes.

'This feels...' He thought then smiled. '...comfortable.'
