Katlyn's P. O. V.
I groaned and pushed my hair out of my face. I'd had enough of Clayton ignoring me. It hurt even more... Not to mention I'd been overly horny and I didn't know what to do about it! I wanted my mate but he wasn't letting me near him.
I jumped at a knock at the door and I opened it to see Lexi standing there. She gave me a sympathetic look and walked in and sat on my bed.
"Wanna talk about it?" She asked me softly and I nodded and closed the door. I sat beside her with a sigh and she started talking.
"My brother is... Different. He's an alpha and he doesn't like showing weakness. You are his weakness Katlyn and he acts this way because of it. Clayton doesn't like being made a fool and I think he thinks he's growing soft. And in a way he is-hell you know he is. It's not the best situation but you must understand that you and my brother are meant to be. I could help you understand more but it comes with a price." Lexi said meeting my eyes with ones of pity.
"What can you do?" I asked. I wanted to know, I wanted to help my mate.
"I can change you-make you one of us." She sighed and shock flowed through me.
"You can turn me into a werewolf?" I gasped and she nodded. Of course she could.
"Yes. It will grant you a wolf and knowledge of our culture. Don't worry it'll only hurt for a few minutes and the bite mark will fade after the first time you shift. Clayton will be even more drawn to you. Your bond with him will increase dramatically. Since you are a Luna it will be very strong." She said with a small smile.
"So I'll be different than now?" I breathed in confusion. My skin prickled as she nodded.
"Yes humans tend to get a confidence boost once they turn werewolf. It's quite amusing. I've never seen a human go from average to Luna though. No telling what you'll be like, though I'm certain you'll be a leader just like Clayton." I nodded softly at her and but my lip.
"Do it. I want to be a worthy mate." I sighed meeting her gaze. She nodded and I watched as fangs slid past her bottom lip. For a second fear pierced my heart but I pushed it away. She gave me a waiting look and I nodded in approval to her.
In a flash her fangs were buried in my neck and I gasped. A fire ran through my body and snarling echoed in my ears. Their history and culture. I knew it all now. Power surged through me and any fear I had died. I was a Luna now and my wolf growled inside to prove it. Lexi pulled away from me.
"Luna Katlyn." She said dipping her head in respect. I growled-yes growled-in approval.
"Beta Lexi." I said to her and she paused looking at me with wide eyes.
"B-beta?" She stuttered and I nodded smiling.
"Yes you're my beta." I said and she smiled wider. Before I knew what was she wrapped me in a hug. I tensed before returning the embrace.
"Who marked her?!" A roar echoed through the house and I pulled away from Lexi. She looked scared. I snarled and shook my head as Clayton yelled again.
"Where is she? Katlyn!" I would've cowered at his roar but I didn't instead I stood and waited for him to find me.
"Katlyn!"
Lexi had already bolted out of the room after the first yell. I crossed my arms over my chest and listened to the pounding of my mates feet hiring the stairs. He was close.
Right on cue boom! The door burst open and there stood my mate looking beyond pissed off. His eyes landed on me and he growled eyeing the mark on my neck.
"Why didn't you answer me? Who marked you?" He snarled stalking towards me.
"Your sister." I growled and he paused. His eyes searched mine and he took a deep breath.
"She-you're a-you're not human anymore." He said softly and I nodded a growl rumbling in my throat.
"Now I'll be a worthy mate won't I?" I said sarcastically and bitterly.
"I never said you weren't worthy." Clayton growled.
"Really now? Well you haven't talked to me in days Clay. If you don't like me that much you may as well just let me go home." I snarled.
"I never said I didn't like you." Clayton rumbled, "I love you." I scoffed.
"You have a hell of a way of disproving that." I spat and felt something shifting inside me. My voice turned into a hard growl and Clayton frowned.
"What's happening?" I gritted out through clenched teeth.
"You're about to shift. You need to calm down." He explained in a calming voice. My mate stepped closer to me.
"Back up. Don't touch me." I growled. Pain coursed though me and I yelped. Clayton winced.
"It won't hurt as much it you just let me help you." Clayton growled. He stepped forward as I swayed on my feet and caught me before I fell. Instantly the pain faded and I sighed.
"See? I told you." Clayton chuckled as he hugged me to him. I laid my head on his chest.
"I missed you." I sighed and I listened and heard his heart rate increase.
"I missed you too, so much... I'm sorry I was avoiding you but I had to." My mate sighed and kissed my forehead. I felt a smile creep to the corners of my mouth.
(I was gonna end it here but nah)
"Katlyn Nicole Stryker you're the best thing that's ever happened to me and I don't now how I'd survive if you ever left me. These past days without you by my side have shown me that without you all I feel is emptiness. For you I'd give my life without so much as a second thought nor a moment of hesitation. You are mine, mea lux. I love you with everything in me. I see you and I'm happy because I know you're my mate. You're my beautiful, smart, intellectual, crazy little mate and I want you with me forever." My eyes swelled with tears and they ran down my cheeks as he continued.
"I want you with me always. I know your past is dark but I don't care about that. I want to be the one to make you smile and laugh and forget your troubles. I want to be the one who comforts you when your sad and helps you fight your battles. I want us to be together ruling my pack by my side, as partners and lovers and above all... As husband and wife." Clayton said to me in a low unsteady voice and before I could comprehend his last words he knelt down on one knee in front of me.
"Will you make me the happiest man alive and become Katlyn Nicole Ravenwolf?" Clayton said as he pulled out a little black box and opened it to reveal a beautiful diamond ring. I gasped and looked at him. His eyes held hope and love and he looked so nervous and vulnerable. More tears ran down my cheeks and I smiled before leaning down to him and kissing him on the lips lightly. He smiled but cleared his throat nervously.
"So... Is that a yes?" He asked softly and I giggled wiping my eyes.
"Of course it is you idiot!" I yelled in joy and tackled him to the ground. I landed on top of him and pressed my lips against his. He was unresponsive for a second but then he kissed me back and growled softly. I growled too and he chuckled. We finally pulled away and he slipped the ring on my finger. I marveled at it for a few seconds before wrapping my arms around my mate and soon we were kissing again.
"I could kiss you all day." Clayton grunted as he deepened the kiss and I muttered in agreement. Sparks were all over me and I gasped and melted into Clayton's lips. I don't know how long we laid there kissing but after we were done Clayton picked me up and carried me to the bed. He laid down next to me and wrapped me in his arms.
"This is how we should always sleep." Clayton said pulling me closer to him and I nodded.
"Go to sleep Clayton." I sighed smiling.
"Okay. Goodnight my love." Clayton sighed kissing my forehead softly. I let out a soft breath and closed my eyes as I snuggled with my mate fiancé. In seconds I was asleep.
