I opened my eyes and groaned.
"Where the hell am I?" I thought aloud as I looked around the room. I was tied to a chair with thick rope and I pulled against it trying to get out. I could feel the gun on my hip jab against my skin at my movements.
The werewolves had got me. They'd burst into my home like they owned the place.... I'd tried to fight them but there were too many and frankly it wasn't worth it.
The room I was in was relatively dark and I got the feeling I was in some sort of holding cell.
I began trying to wiggle out of the ropes when a deep voice made me freeze.
"Katlyn?" I jumped slightly as my name was said from behind me and I realized I wasn't alone.
I craned my neck around to look behind but only saw darkness. I frowned in confusion knowing very well I'd heard my name and turned back around only to gasp as a man came into view. He stood in front of me. He just stood there masked by shadows not saying anything more, just staring at me.
"What do you want?" I asked knowing this man was an alpha. Stronger and with a ferocity greater than any other wolf of the packs.
"If I untie you, will you not kill me?" He said ignoring my question. I stilled then shrugged softly. I tensed as he walked to me and grabbed the ropes and his hands brushed mine gently before he ripped the ropes off like they were made of silly string.
I rubbed my wrists as he unbound my feet and once he stepped back I stood.
"Who are you?" I said and he gave me a long look.
He stepped toward me and reached out his hand. I stepped back and nearly fell over the chair. The alpha caught me and attempted to steady me but I shoved him away.
"Bab-" the werewolf started and I drew my gun. His eyes widened and he put up his hands as he took a step back.
"Who are you?" I repeated sharply and aimed the gun at his head.
"Katy it's me." He said and I raised an eyebrow. I switched off the safety and he growled softly. My heart drummed in my chest. I'd never been this close to an alpha before and I wasn't going down that easy.
"Back up mutt." I said and the alpha frowned. Pain seemed to show on the wolf's features but it disappeared.
"You're a Hunter..." he seemingly said to himself more than I.
"Where am I?" I asked but he only growled and turned away from me. His muscles in his arms flexed as he linked his hands behind his head and groaned.
"I can't believe this... what the fuck? They... they took you and-now you-you can't..." the alpha paused and a dark growl rumbled in his chest.
"They're dead. I'm going to fucking rip them apart." He snarled and threw his hands out before he punched the wall. I watched in silence never taking my finger off of the trigger.
"What are you talking about?" I asked softly. He growled and didn't look at me.
"Your damned parents." The alpha snarled. I felt my trigger finger twitch in my urge to shoot him.
"Don't you touch them." I spat and the alpha whirled to face me and I took a step back at his reddening eyes and glare. He stomped toward me.
"You do not tell me what to do! I'm an alpha, you're just a- a fucking Hunter, you have no authority here! Now put the gun down before you hurt yourself." The alpha snarled and before I could shoot him like I so very much wanted to he ripped the gun from my hands and just like that he was gone toting my weapon along with him.
Clayton's P. O. V.
I stomped down the hallway. I couldn't fathom it all. My Kate was back... but she was so far away.
I snarled and turned the corner freezing when I saw Kaden chasing Dalton while Drew, Lexi, and Mike all sat on the couch encouraging him. I watched my son with calming nerves. A smile began to grace my face.
"Clay?" Lexi's voice made me glance over at her and I felt my smile drop at her wondering eyes.
"When can I see her? Mommy's home where is she?" Kaden asked me and I felt my chest tighten and I looked away from his hopeful eyes.
"Mommy's sick Kade; right now she needs rest, you'll see her soon." I said and couldn't miss the disappointment in his voice as he said, "Okay..."
I gulped and nodded to everyone before making my way outside. I needed to let it out.
I shed my clothes and shifted immediately bolting out into the woods. My claws dug into the ground as I ran onward. My eyes burned with tears and I snarled in pain.
I tore into the bark of trees and howled in anguish. Why was I being tortured so...?
After some time my eyes snapped back toward the house. I pelted back home and snatched up my clothes, which lay by the porch, in my jaws.
I barreled my way back inside, I'd left the door open, and stalked towards the cellars. As I went through the living room everyone looked at me and I growled.
"Clay?" Lexi started but I snarled and jumped over them and prowled to the cellars.
I walked down the dark corridors and paused beside a cell and peered in at the two. I shifted and slipped on my clothes. With a growl I opened the cell and walked inside.
I looked at my parents-in-law with a snarl. They were both chained up and battered. But even in that state they glared all the same.
"What did you do to her? Why doesn't she remember me?" I gritted out through clenched teeth. I'd meant to come for answers but just gazing at the two of them made my urges for vengeance stronger. I wanted them dead.
"She's a Hunter... like she should be." Her mother said and I bared my fangs at her.
"What about Kaden? He needs his mom." I growled feeling my patience start to ebb away.
"That abomination can do fine without one." Richard spat and I tensed.
"That abomination is your grandchild." I snarled. Richard scoffed.
"Mutts will not be in this bloodline." He said and I growled.
"It's too late for that and my son is not a mutt!" I yelled.
"When Katlyn has another kid with someone besides you, then I'll claim it. But that's not part of my family and neither are you." He said glaring at me with eyes full of disgust.
"Old man you're forgetting who's in charge here... So I suggest you watch your mouth." I growled out trying but failing to control my temper.
"She had sex with someone else. Doesn't that bother you? She had sex with Jaxon. Called out his name not yours." Richard said in a mocking tone and I felt my body begin to tremble with anger.
"Shut up." I snarled.
"The truth hurts doesn't it Conny?" Richard smirked and I let out a deep growl.
"Well she needed a distraction so we gave her one. It's a shame y'all killed Jaxon... he was actually a good kid." Richard said and I frowned.
"You gave her one?" I growled.
"Yes... we hired Jaxon. He was Katlyn's guard as you could say, but she didn't know, and he stepped his borders when he began bedding her. He knew the risks. It's a shame." Katlyn's mother sighed and I wrinkled my nose in disgust.
What the hell was wrong with them?
"How do I get her back?" I asked and they both glared at me.
"You can't." Those two words made my last bit of restraint vanish.
I launched myself at them and shifted midair. My claws dug into flesh. My teeth ripped through skin, crushed bone. Screams rang in my ears. The smell of blood filled my nose.
I stepped back eyeing the massacre I'd made and snorted in satisfaction before shifting back and slipping my clothes back on.
I left the cellars and ordered it be cleaned and the bodies thrown away. They could feed them to the dogs for all I cared. My steps led me to the hall bathroom. I stepped inside and began showering getting as much of the blood that I could off. I growled at the fact I could still faintly smell it and I dried off and went toward my room. I'd have to shower again later... I prowled through the house going to my room.
Anxious and fearful to see my wife.
