He should get a fucking medal for this! All he wanted to do was drag his beautiful mate to the nearest bedroom and claim her. Marked her. Then claim her again. And again. Until her belly was full of his pups no one would question that she was his for eternity. But he can't. Yet.

He had to make everything right. He couldn't lose her. Not ever. The Moon Goddess had one soulmate for him in one lifetime. Anna May was it for him. So he will wait, no matter how hard it was to control himself when he was around her.

He gripped the stirring wheel tightly. Her scent of arousal teased him. Testing his control. His cock was so fucking hard he could smash bricks with it. He snorted at the mental picture and hope she would not focus on his lap. She may think he was a pervert.

Anna's soft skin against his lips will forever be engraved in his memory. Like her mating scent. She was clearly attracted to him too. Her blushes, her deep breaths, and her racing heart from his nearness were honest indications.

Can he start wooing her today? Will it be too early, too much? What was the fucking timeframe?

"Anna," he glanced over at her --the car stopped at the red light.

"Xander," She answered. Breathless. He gritted his teeth, trying to stop his instinctive reaction. He had to do something about his hard cock later. He can't go on like this the whole day or they will end up on the nearest wall he can find.

"Do you have a boyfriend?" If she has, he will have to kill the bastard. Her brows furrowed, puzzled and surprised by his question.

"I...ah...I don't. I never had one." Good. Good. So pleased with her response. He felt like dancing. He will be the first in everything. No one will ever touch her bar him. "Why did you asked? Do you have a girlfriend or a wife?"

"I don't have a wife nor a girlfriend, vita mia." -You will be the first and the last. The only one.- He wondered what she would say if he said those words bluntly.

"So you don't do relationships?" His face blanked at her tensed voice. Was he eagerly transparent?

"No. I never had one, angelo." She stiffened. Did he say something wrong?

"I see," What did that mean? She looked troubled and went cold towards him all of a sudden. Her voice sounded distant. Distracted. He wanted her attention back to him. To them.

He was about to ask her for a date when his sister rapped her knuckles on the heavily tinted window. Fucking perfect timing. He growled. From the corner of his eye, he saw her flinched. Shit!

He was out of the car in no time and strode to her side to open the door for her. His rough palm engulfed hers to help her from their Audi. Her hand was cold and she was stiff beside him. Did he say something to upset her? Sensing the tension between them, his sister saved him again.

Alexie started a conversation about some paperwork while he thought and tried to read his mate's tense face. He was the king of the Lycan realm and had been to countless wars and battles however nothing could prepare him for a mate. He was out of his depth. He watched his mate walked with his sister to their building. He stalked after them, mentally growling at the wolves eyeing his mate.

-Beta, I want to talk to you in my office while our mates are busy.

-Of course, sire. Be there in 5.

"Where is my mate, beta?" He was pacing his office like a caged animal. It was different now. He could barely stand the separation. The longing to see her, touch her and bury his nose on her neck overwhelmed him. He needed to surround his body with her scent.

"She's with Alexie in the conference room. They have a meeting with our executives. We will visit them after we talk." His beta was looking at him with questions in his eyes.

"Ok. I don't know what the fuck happened, Michael. I was about to ask her out then she went cold." He ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. His wolf hissed and growled at him. Annoyed that he upset their mate.

"My King, calm down. Tell me what happened in the car. Alexie and I thought everything was running smoothly. We can even sense her attraction to you."

"Yes. I sensed that too. I asked her if she has a boyfriend. Well, she never had one. Then she asked if I have a wife or girlfriend. I assured her that I have neither. That I don't do relationships." That was the exact conversation they had in the car.

"Holy shit, Xander. You fuck up." Michael pointed out with a huge guffaw. He growled at him. He was having too much fun at his expense.

"What did I do wrong?" He asked through gritted teeth.

"Well, if I am correct, you are hinting that you want her right?"

"Yes. I was. And from what I can scent she was not opposed to the idea." His brows were drawn together. Trying to think.

"But then you also told her that you don't do relationships. What do you think she would think, Xander?" His eyes darkened, stormy, and clouded, realizing the shit that he dug for himself.

"Fuck!" He gripped his hair tightly. Banging his forehead on his desk. A novel experience. He had never lost his cool before. Never showed emotions and thoughts to anyone except his wolf. Everything has changed the moment he met his beautiful queen.

"Exactly, sire. She thinks that... um...you only want a temporary arrangement." His eyes narrowed at his beta. "You will have to convince her otherwise, my king. It's not that hard."

"Right. I need to order flowers and chocolates. I want her to use the Luna's office from now on, remove the wall separating my office from hers. I need to go to her beta. My wolf is going nuts." Exiting his office, he walked directly to the conference room --then stopped. His beta almost crashed into his back. He took a deep breath to be sure it was not his imagination.

-Motherfucker! I am going to fucking kill them.

"Sire, your mate is inside. You will scare her if you go on a killing rampage." He groaned. His beta was right. "I will personally handle the punishment since my mate is also in there." His beta grumbled. Finally, his mood matched his.

Oh, goddess! If her mate and brother were here right now, they would handle out punishments left and right. She scowled at the unmated males in the conference room. She was well aware that these males have not received the gift of fate from the Goddess yet. She felt sorry for them. They don't know what they were missing by sleeping around.

"Ok guys! These are just overviews of the products that we are offering all over the country, in Mexico and Canada. Since you are on my team, I will train you first so that we will have ample support by next week. The CEO himself will be in attendance --we have to be ready. I also want to..." Anna's lecture was cut off when her mate and brother entered the room. Both were brooding and exuding dominance. Her brother more so than her mate.

-I warned you all, didn't I? You boys never listen. She mind linked everyone in the room and sense their fears.

"Alexie please take a break with Ms. Greyson. I need a few minutes with my executives." Yup. It was a direct command from her King Alpha.

"Of course, brother. Come on, Anna. Let's go to Starbucks." She was stunned by the sudden intrusion but she complied. Anna kept glancing at Alexander. Something happened between the two of them earlier, she will make sure to pry it out of her. She knew her brother can be a clueless jerk sometimes. "Don't worry, dear. We won't go far. Did I mention that we have our own Starbucks in the building?" She grinned at her dumbfounded look.

"Oh, wow! Really?" She asked. "This is like Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory!" She whispered.

Alexie laughed. This innocent luna was making her appreciate all the simple things in life. So sweet and adorable.

"Hey, Bev!" She smiled at the barista. The girl was a she-wolf at the royal pack. Mated with pups. How she wished she could share the good news --she can't. Not yet. It has to come from their king. The pack and the kingdom will know soon enough.

"Good morning, Mrs. Marini. What will you have today?" The barista kept glancing at Anna, curiosity in her eyes. News traveled fast. Some pack members had seen the woman beside her step out of her brother's car. A first. He never drove anyone, let alone a woman to work or anywhere.

"You know me, Bev. Another ice-cold macchiato venti. I will also have a lemon meringue pie. What about you, Anna?"

"Oh. Strawberry frappe venti, please. I still have the sandwich your brother gave me."

"Ok, dear. Charge everything to my husband or my brother. Whichever you prefer, Bev." She winked at the girl.

"Let me pay, Alexie. Please." She rolled her eyes, her brother will buy the moon for her if she asked for it. Linking her arm with hers and led them to a comfortable sofa. She liked the chic decor at this place. Of course, she does. She designed it.

"Anna, while you are with us, you don't have to worry about anything," She assured her and patted her hand.

"Why? I mean I really appreciate everything..." She paused, hesitant. Then honesty prevailed. "I am confused. I am just your regular employee. I don't want anyone to think that you favor me, a new one at that, over them." Anna was upset and not all from this. She wondered what happened between her and her brother in the car.

"Why are you upset, Anna?"

"I...um...I am not," She raised her brow. Anna stammered. A telltale sign. "I don't know what to make of your brother." She blurted out.

"Why?" She had an idea why. Her brother was a piece of work.

"He asked me if I have a boyfriend."

"And?"

"I told him I don't have one."

"Ok. And?"

"I asked him the same question. He told me he never had one and he doesn't do relationships." Judging by the slight pout on Luna's lips, she made the wrong conclusion. Her idiot of a brother will need to fix this. The only woman in the world he needed to woo and impress and he fucking royally blew it. She grimaced, trying to come up with a plan to help her king.

"Would anyone try to explain why I scent your fucking arousal while my mate and my sister were in the room?" His voice was rough, deep, and dark. And deathly quiet. The room was so silent, he would be able to hear if a pin drops. His royal beta growled. Most of these men were unmated wolves. He scowled darkly. Why were they in his mate's team? "No one will answer me?" He snarled. Losing patience.

"My...my king. I...we didn't know. Please forgive us." The man bowed, tilting his neck, showing submission.

"Now all of you fucking knows! She is to be your Queen Luna. I will expect the utmost respect towards her and my sister. Who is also your female royal beta? Or did you forget that information? All the unmated males in this room will be assigned to a different department. Jack?" He pinned his stormy gray eyes to a senior executive.

"My King," The man looked apoplectic.

"See to their assignments right away and make sure only mated pack members will be assigned on my mate's team. Am I clear, Jack?" He enunciated softly --which was more lethal than him roaring in rage.

" Yes, sire. I will attend to it right away."

"Good. And punishments will be handed out by your royal beta tomorrow at 6 am. Be ready by then. You are all dismissed!" He grumbled. He pinched the bridge of his nose to try to calm down. His mate will be back any minute. He glanced at his beta, who kept grinning stupidly.

"What?" He growled.

"You should open the pack link, Xander. Everyone's in party mode. You have just announced that you have found our Queen Luna. Your mom and dad will be calling any minute now." And right in queue, his cellphone rang. He groaned.
