CHAPTER 22 - THE UNEXPECTED VISITOR
Courtney decided to get into the shower to freshen up and felt the soreness between her thighs again. She remembered the heat nights they had and can’t help but cry again under the warm water. She doesn’t know how long she was in that state until she heard someone unlocked the front door. She hurriedly finished up and grabbed her robe to check who that human could be.
"Con-Con! Are you home?!” Her best friend's voice came through the hall
Nicolo is her 28 year old friend, a half Italian and half American guy and has a sister named Nathalia, her Secretary. They became friends since play school and Nicolo often finds her crying. She remembered when someone bullied or teased her for slurry words, Nicolo was always defending her. That is also the story behind their nick names, they created a name that will be easier for them to pronounce. Since then they were attached hip-to-hip and she always sat with him to make her safe.
"Oh My Gosh!! Nic-Nic it’s you!” Courtney saw his best friend.
“Of course! Who do you think it would be?” Nic-Nic rolled his eyes.
“Nothing.” Courtney then realized that aside from her parents, Nic-Nic and Nat have the access to her penthouse.
“I miss you Con-Con!!" Nic-Nic came hugging her.
“I missed you very much too! But I thought you’re supposed to come back this afternoon?" She hugged him tight in return.
“My shoot was done early so I flew back home then I went to your clinic and parents house but you're not there. Good thing I have a key to here, before I put up a search party for you." He waved a key while getting comfy inside the suite.
"So how was London? Did you enjoy those models you're shooting at?" Courtney teased him while he's getting comfy as well.
"If they were hot men I could've enjoyed it! I hate those models! They were flaunting their silicon breast and their skinny legs in front of my face!! I'm not interested but they keep doing it! It's totally yuck!!" He complains and Courtney giggled.
During their College years, nobody tried to hit on Courtney because they thought Nicolo is her boyfriend little they know that he is also looking for a boyfriend himself. The confession happened when they were on ninth grade and she supported him.
"You can't blame them Nic-Nic you haven't been out in public yet. I mean you're famous but that part of you is well hidden beneath that gorgeous body." Courtney eyed him up and down.
"Holy cheese balls! Are you hitting on me Con-Con? I never knew you had a thing for gays and mostly fantasizing me." Her friend acted like it was a horror movie.
"Shut up! We both know that's not going to happen. I'm just saying but honestly you have to get out of the closet." Courtney slapped his shoulder playfully.
"Wish it was too easy I'm not ready for the criticisms and public interviews, then there's Mamà and Nathalia you know they are expecting me to get married and have kids." His mood changed from happy to sad.
"Nic-Nic, believe me Hannah will understand it. You are her son and she loves you just as much as your sister; they will accept you whoever or whatever you are. If you're ready to come out I'll help you by starting with your sister. With the criticisms well let them be they don't know the real you." Courtney grabbed his hand.
"Thanks Con-Con for the support I knew I could count on you." He placed his hand on top of her.
"You're welcome Nic-Nic. I'm always here no matter what happens. You're my best friend." Courtney bumped his shoulder
"Enough of my drama, I have something for you." Nicolo stood up and hand me a paper bag.
"Thanks Nic-Nic!!!" Courtney accepted his presents.
It was the book she is dying to have, its entitled Thinking Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman. Nicolo knew she wanted to have that copy so when he found out that the Author will be in London, he went to see him at the book signing and asked for a dedication.
“Oh my freaking God! How did you get this?” Courtney saw the personal message on the first page.
“I bought it off course, do I look like a thief to you.” Nic-Nic rolled his eyes.
“You're the best best friend in the whole world!” Courtney held the book close to her heart.
"I also brought Lindt & Sprüngli chocolates your favorite. I couldn't pass Camden market without buying it." He handed over another bag.
"I love you Nic-Nic!!" Courtney kissed his cheek.
"You're welcome Con-Con! Now tell me why you're ruining that gorgeous face!" He turned Courtney’s face from left to right.
“What do you mean?” Courtney unwrap the chocolate trying to divert his friend’s attention.
“Don’t what me; you have those red fluffy eyes written all over your face that no make-up can hide.” Nicolo swirled his hand in the air.
“Let me get dress first.” Courtney agreed.
"I'm your best friend and I don't know anything about you." Nicolo put up his guilty act.
"Stop the guilty card or I won't tell you." Courtney was not convinced with his acting skills.
“Fine! Go get dress fast!” Nicolo yelled and took his phone out while waiting for his friend to come out.
After few minutes of scrolling his phone Nicolo starts to get bored since his friend is taking ages to dress up. He decided to follow her inside the bedroom and saw the mess which is not a typical Courtney he knew.
“Can you tell me what the hell happened in here?” Nicolo scanned the surroundings.
"Oh God! You’re going to give me a heart attack!” Courtney didn’t hear him entered since her mind is still somewhere.
“Oh hush now and tell me what you did to my OC friend?” Nic-Nic stated the fact about her.
“Promise I will tell you but can we go to your flat instead? I don't want to stay here for today please with a cherry on top?" Courtney gave the cutest puppy eyes.
"Let's get out of here before I called an exorcist.” Nicolo comment made her giggles.
This is the few traits that she really loves about her gay friend. He knows how to make her feel better even how bad the situation is. There is no dull moment when they spend time especially when their alone because that’s the only time her friend is free to act and speak like a woman. As soon as they reached Nicolo’s place her friend didn’t waste time.
