CHAPTER 28 - THE MOVED IN
Few days after they moved in together, Ben has been coming to Courtney’s place more than his own pad. Ben admitted he likes the feeling of waking up every morning with her and how Courtney made sure the breakfast is ready for him before leaving, a total wife material.. Courtney on the other hand was also managing her work and the online class she does that she secretly hides from Ben. If there is one thing that she didn’t confess it was the bad cooking skills she has.
“Here’s the Inventory of Sales this month.” Ben entered his brother’s office.
“Got it, I’ll just have my secretary to file this.” Eric accepted the folder.
“Alright, give me the updates to La Vigna once the treatment was done, we need to finish that as soon as possible.” His brother is referring to their vineyard that is currently being treated from bugs.
“Are you staying at Courtney tonight?’ Eric guessed.
“Why?” Ben asked in return.
“Make sure to use protection.” Eric smirked.
“I got run Asshole!” Ben closed his door.
It has been two days since he last saw Courtney because the partnership with the brewery started. Ben planned to surprise her today so he dropped by the nearest flower shop to get another set of flowers.
“Flowers for my wifey." Ben gave the flowers as soon as the door opens.
“Wow they are beautiful, thank you.” Courtney accepted it.
“Do you like it?” Ben stepped inside.
“Yeah I do, roses are my favorite.” Courtney smelled it.
Ben finally made it inside Courtney’s living room and was about to put his car key on the table when Courtney realized where he came from.
“Why didn’t you use the key I gave to you to access my personal lift?” Courtney placed a hand on her hip.
"Of course not I just gave you that because I want too." Ben denied when in fact he lost it.
"You're not a good liar Mr. Venoso. You knew I can read every move you make so tell me otherwise you won’t get to sleep with me tonight." She debated waiting for answer.
"Okay you caught me Ms. Body Language.” He gave in.
Ben told her that the key card got misplaced because he was so occupied at the office. There were shipments coming from the brewery and at the same time the pesticides for the vine yard.
“So you think buying me flowers can bribe me easily huh?” Courtney acted pissed.
“I brought the flowers because I want too but I’m sorry I lose the key.” Ben explained feeling all anxious.
“You’re so gullible some times.” Courtney laughed at his reaction.
“Wait, you’re just pretending mad at me?” Ben asked and while Courtney is fixing the flower on the vase.
“It’s payback for losing the card.” Courtney stuck her tongue like a child.
“You sneaky woman, I will show you what payback is.” Ben grabbed her fast claiming her lips.
Their kiss was full of passion and hunger since they haven’t been at each other’s arm for two days. Ben started sucking her neck and making sure to leave a mark while Courtney responded by giving him more access to it. They were interrupted by the sound of a timer and Courtney pulled away instantly.
"I need to check the oven before it burns." She ran towards the kitchen.
“Hmm… looks yummy but you’re tastier.” Ben wrapped his arms around her waist.
“Set the table Mister and you’ll get to taste me all night.” Courtney gave the plates to him.
“Such a tease.” Ben muttered while placing the plates on the table.
“I heard that.” Courtney warned.
"Anyway did you talk to your Papà already?" Ben loosened up his tie.
"No I'm not ready to talk to him." Courtney shook her head.
"You know sooner or later he will meet me, so you need to tell him about us I promise I'll be there." Ben assured her.
"I will promise but for now go take a shower while I prepare the dinner." Courtney is avoiding the topic.
"I'll be right back." Ben pecked her lips one last time before heading towards the shower.
While Ben was in the shower he was thinking of telling Courtney about his feelings for her but his hesitant that she might not feel the same way. Yes, Courtney admitted she was attracted to him but the way he feels is far more than any attraction can explain. He wants to be honest with her so he will tell her about his past too.
“Benj, the dinner is ready!" Courtney yelled from the door.
"I'm coming out! Three minutes!" Ben hollered back.
After putting a trouser, Ben proceeds to the couch where they usually have our dinner while watching the same series the y got hooked up from the day it was aired.
"How's your day at the clinic?" Ben opened the wine.
Courtney made a grilled steak and asparagus with baked a potato on cream sauce. It was her new dish that she got to practice two days while Ben was busy with the Café.
"It's okay nothing much special, just a lot of sessions with same patients everyday but I love helping them.” Courtney started putting food on her plate.
“That sounds tiring,” Ben took the steak.
“It does, how about the café and the vineyard?" She poured their glasses with wine.
"Café is doing well while the vineyard is almost done with treatments.” Ben sliced the medium rare meat just the way he wants it.
“Speaking of Christmas isn’t it just two months away?’ Courtney asked for confirmation.
“Yeah, that’s why Eric and I were thinking of new promotions." Ben took his first bite.
"Why not make limited coffee mug or flavors that will be timely for the holiday?" She suggested.
"That's great idea! I love you.” He blurted out without even thinking.
“Wh--at?” Courtney became stiff but was able to recover from it.
“I mean I love your idea." Ben corrected.
"Tell me if Eric agrees and maybe I can help out." Courtney’s heart skips a beat.
"What would I do without you?" He grabbed her hand.
"You will never find out because we have a year-deal so until then I’ll bug you." Courtney swings her finger.
"By the way Nonna's death anniversary is coming, my mother and I will be visiting her tomb; do you want to come with us?" Ben changed the topic since he doesn't want to think about the end of the deal.
"It's a family gathering and I'm not part of it." She hesitated.
"You are already part of the family since we’re going to be engage; and besides I don’t think they would mind especially my mother.” Ben gave her assurance.
“Are you sure?” Courtney creased her eyebrows.
“Yes I am sure, you’re with me the whole time, so there’s nothing for you to worry about." Ben convinced her.
"Okay I'll come.” Courtney finally confirmed.
“Great! It’s a date then.” He winked in return.
