CHAPTER 45 - THE PINKIE PROMISE
After the incident at the Venoso’s residence, the Montini’s decided to go home since the party was over due to the commotion. Courtney stayed at Nicolo’s place since she felt responsible on what happened to his friend’s face.
“Let me see your hand and the bruise.” Courtney is now holding an ice pack on her hand.
“Ow!” Nic-nic’s first word.
“I'm so sorry.” Courtney said apologetically.
“Give me that.” Nicolo took the ice pack and placed it on his cheek.
“I warned you it's a bad idea.” Courtney is applying ointment on his hand as well.
"But you never told me his more handsome in person." Her friend commented while giggling.
“You’re impossible! Your face is bruised yet you’re daydreaming about how he looks in person! Hold this while I fix your hand." Courtney put a little force on her friend’s hand
“Ouch!!” Nicolo whined.
“You deserve that!” Courtney countered.
“Your husband -- is brutal and -- has a hand of steel oh my Geez!” Her friend says in between trying to tease her more.
"He's not my husband!" Courtney smacked his head this time.
"Oh I could fight him again just to touch his body." Nicolo continues.
"Will you please stop fantasizing him?!" Courtney started to get irritated.
"Why are you jealous?" Her gay friend raised an eyebrow.
"Oh shut it! I'm not jealous okay? It's just not right! You are my best friend and he is the father of my unborn child. You're my godchild and it's very awkward to hear that you’re admiring --" Courtney’s mood is now on the verge.
"Relax preggo you are babbling -- I'm just teasing you ha ha ha.” Nicolo started laughing.
“Oh you crazy midget!” Courtney hit wounded hand this time.
"That pregnancy hormone is really making you grumpy these days and now I can really tell that you and Ben are quite a pair.” Nicolo gave another comment.
“And why is that?” She asked out of curiosity.
“You are both brutal, and don’t you dare hit me again because it will only prove I’m right just like the plan I made tonight.” Nicolo blocked her assault.
“It didn’t work because he still didn’t say that he loves me.” Courtney felt sad after a minute.
“If I were you I'll take him back after that kiss." He wiggled his brows with a big grin on his face.
"Wh---what do you mean kiss?" Courtney stopped dabbing ointment on his hand.
"I saw it!! I saw the hot steaming kiss you had in that greenhouse. WEEEEEE!!" Nicolo squealed a bit too loud.
"Will you calm your nerves down?! You're going to wake up the whole building with you screaming like crazy." She hushed him by placing a hand on his mouth.
“So… tell me about the kiss, how was it? Does he taste good as before or even better? Come on!! You owe me this." Nic-Nic was able to speak after Courtney freed his mouth from partially muted.
“I never thought he could break my walls that easily." She admitted while remembering the scene inside the greenhouse.
"I knew you still love him my intuitions are right!!” Nicolo bumped her shoulder.
"Shhhhh will you calm down? Geez I will be deaf when I get out of this building I swear.” Courtney toned him down.
“Whatever, don’t change the subject… my plan really worked so what’s next after the kiss? Did you have a quickie?” Her gray friend is surely waiting for some juicy details.
“What?! Of course we didn’t I’m not that desperate!” Courtney hit his arm.
“But with your tone you wish it leads to that huh?” He insisted.
“Anyways before that kiss happened he apologized and wants me to go back to him and marry him." Courtney is holding a bottle of pain reliever.
"Did he already admit his feelings?" Nic-Nic popped the pill in his mouth.
"Like I said earlier, he didn’t say anything like that aside from claiming I am his.” Courtney sounded confused and depressed.
"Oh God! My best friend is the most stupid therapist in town! What happened to your skills?" Nic-Nic put hands in the air.
"Are you really insulting me?" Courtney raised an eyebrow.
"Not really but tell me isn't my face and hand not enough proof that he is in love with you? For holly cheese ball he is ready to kill me if his yummy brother and your father didn't show up." Nicolo pointed his bruise and hands.
"I don't know what to do Nic-Nic I still love him even after what happened but I'm not ready to forgive him but I know I have too for the sake of our child." Courtney continued putting cream on his friend’s bruised face.
"Goodness!! Let the hatred go and forgive him. It's not healthy for you and the baby okay." Nic-Nic rolled his eyes.
"Basically you want me to tell him I'm pregnant and accept his deal again?" Courtney folded her hands.
"Exactly! After that have sex with him hard like you did -- with a body like that damn I will ask him to fuck me senseless every minute." He teased again.
Courtney didn’t say anything and remembered how they use to get intimate at her place. They made love first in every corner of her flat from the couch, shower, kitchen name it they have done it not to forget her clinic and Ben’s office.
"You naughty preggo you're thinking about it." Nic-nic nudged her.
"I wasn't!" I lied while blushing deep red.
"You're not good at lying ha ha ha.” His friend laughed harder.
"Fine I did but just because we kissed doesn't mean I'm going to spread my legs for him. Well technically I did otherwise I won't be pregnant now.” She logically said.
“You my dear friend will experience his heaven very soon again, so don’t worry." He winked at her.
“The point is if he really loves me then let him work hard for it." Courtney stated rationally.
"I know Con-Con but don't you think that it's already enough? I mean he is also suffering like you. You're the most understanding person I ever met so think about it and find a way to forgive him before it's too late. Plus what are you going to do if you start showing your baby bumps. I may not be a doctor or a woman by physical but based on your tummy size is bigger than any two months pregnant women out there." He got that right when they both stare at Courtney’s stomach.
"You're right Nic-Nic." Courtney nodded while placing a hand on it.
"I just want to see you happy and I know Ben can make that happen. Promise me you will talk to him." He cupped her face.
"Thanks for always being there for me, I promised I'll think about it." She showed her pinkie finger for their pinkie swears.
"You're welcome besides he was the man of your dreams for four months if I may remember." Nic-Nic smiled widely reminding her the old days.
"Don't you dare tell him that or I swear I'll tell Hannah and Nathalia your secret!" Courtney pinched his thigh.
"I won't tell him but you actually gave me the idea.” He messed with her some more.
“You’re so not going to do that or our friendship died.” She threatened.
“You’re so dramatic, anyways I doubt Nathalia will talk about me being gay to Mom." He revealed.
"Wait does that mean she already---" Courtney processed what she heard.
"Yup she already knew.” Nicolo confirmed.
“How did she take it? When did it happen? How did she find out?” She totally forgot her situation with Ben.
“Geez woman! Stop rattling like chipmunks and I’ll tell you.” Nicolo comment made Courtney giggle in return.
“I’m just curios… so I’m waiting.” Courtney folded her arms.
“First answer to your first question; you’re right she didn't judge me. Second, she the gay website I was in; lastly, she told me her speculation started when we were in Spain because she claimed I always notice the lipstick she’s wearing, giving her compliment about her dress and what color matches her skin tone blah blah.” Nicolo invisibly flipped his short hair.
“See, I told you it would be easy if you only confessed to her earlier she could’ve help you hooked up with the guys there.” She smiled.
“Imagined that scenario will be comical Nat will tell our Dad and I’ll be guarding her down without them knowing that it was the other way around.” Nicolo started giggling.
“Oh definitely worth to think.” Courtney joined in the laughter.
“At least one thorn has been gone from my throat now I can act frely in front my sister." Nic-Nic says with glint of happiness.
"I know right, I’m really glad you to hear that" Courtney smiled too.
"Anyway it's getting late. Let's get our beauty rest. I love you bestie." Nicolo hugged her friend.
"Good night Nic-Nic. Love you too girl!" Courtney hugged him back.
