THIRTY TWO

" I must say, that prom dress really looks great on you. Too bad you are going with that loser Carson, I know I would have been a better date than him." A husky voice snapped angrily

." We decide to keep things low key, you don't want my brother finding out." I whispered a shout at him.

" Why don't we just tell him and our parents, I want them to know you belong to me." He whispered back, refusing to listen to reasons.

" Listen batman , As much as I would love to tell them, I dread what their reaction might be. Richard would go ballistic if he ever finds out about us. Remember I'm supposed to be off limits to all his friends, which also includes you." I spit back at him, frustrated.

" I know babe, I'm sorry." The voice said again." I promise to make it up to you later tonight."

" promise." He asked, I could feel the tease in his tone." I promise."

My eyes snapped open, another nightmare. I thought they were finally gone. Why was I still having them? I looked over to Giovanni to see if I had woken him up but he was still fast asleep. I slowly peeled away his hand around my waist, getting out of the bed. I put on my dress, making my way out of the room, downstairs. I got to the kitchen, rubbing my hand over my forehead to try to rid the headache forming in my head.

I recall the dream again, I had called him batman, and also questioned him about him being my brother's friend. This can't just be merely a dream, it was a memory. Which meant Richard might have a clue who this boy was and why i keep dreaming about him. Every time she tried to see his face he managed to vanish , making it hard for her to know who he was.

I sighed, opening the fridge to take out a bottle of water. I poured it out into a glass cup before putting it back into the fridge. I downed the whole glass in one go, rinsing it. I kept it back where I took it from, making my way back upstairs. I walked past Alexander's room and abruptly stopped when I heard muffled sounds coming from inside. I moved closer to the door, hearing soft whimpers. Getting worried, I opened the door, entering inside.

My heart clenched at the sight of Alexander's figure, tossing and whimpering on the bed. I tiptoed over to him and saw that his eyes were closed, which meant he was having a nightmare. I watched as tears fell from his eyes, he was clutching tightly on his blanket.

His lips moved, letting out a soft whimper while repeating the word 'No.' I laid by his side, cuddling him close to me, softly humming to a lullaby I had never heard before but yet it sounded so familiar. Alexander stirred a little in my hands, his whispers stopped but his tiny hand held on to me tightly. I heard him say something which caused me to stop humming while I tried listening to his words.

" Don't go." Alexander whispered again. "Don't leave me mom, please don't go." I suddenly felt weak. How much pain was he enduring , he must really be hurt by the absence of his mother. I didn't notice I was crying until I felt the tears land at the back of my hand. I wiped the tears off my face, laying kisses on Alexander's head, leaning to whisper to his ear.

" mummy isn't going anywhere, I'm never going to leave you okay." I continued to whisper till I heard his breath soften and he fell back to sleep.

I rested my head back down on the bed with Alexander still in my hold. I gently pat his back, humming the song of before. My eyes slowly drifted off on it's  own accord, falling asleep as well. When I woke up the next morning, I felt something heavy resting on my waist but I was too tired to care. I cuddled closer to Alexander, when I felt something soft on my forehead.

I groggily opened my eyes to see Giovanni laying behind me, watching as Alexander and I slept. He smiled when he saw my eyes open, he leaned down to peck my lips.

" Good morning, amore." He greeted me in his sexy morning voice.

" Good morning." I mumbled, stifling out a yawn.

" Imagine my surprise when I woke up late at night to find your side of the bed empty, you got me worried Roy."

" Sorry." I replied sheepishly." Why don't you freshen up, I will take care of Alexander." Giovanni offered and I nodded, I gently removed Alexander's body from mine, getting out of the bed. I pecked his forehead then pecked Giovanni on his lips before making my way out of the room to freshen up.
