INVINCIBLE
Elena's POV:
"Who are you?" Jessie questioned and from the look on the woman's face, no one could deny the striking resemblance. The woman walked closer to her.
"Jessie." She nearly whispered. I knew it had to be clear to most of us that this woman was related to Jessie. Even Jessie seemed to be having a difficult time denying it. I remembered what she said to me. That her mother was dead to her. Now she was meeting her mother again after so many years.
"Why are you here?" Jessie questioned, in an annoyed tone. She apparently wasn't happy seeing her mother.
"Jessie I can explain." Her mother moved towards her but she stepped back.
"I don't understand. You abandoned me all my life without even turning back. You never even tried to check up on me for once and you think you can just walk into my life and I'll accept you back?"
"Jessie, I did what I had to do for us to survive. I had absolutely nothing that I could use to take care of you. Please just listen to me, there's so much you don't know yet." Her mother explained and Jessie cocked her brow. I walked towards her and nudged her a little.
"I think you should listen to her. Don't let your anger cloud your judgment. You can always judge her after if her explanation is no excuse as to why she left." I said and Jessie seemed to be contemplating it. Then she sighed.
We were all seated on the couch while Grace, Jessie's mother, explained her life story and what Seth, my father, had done to her. She had to run away from here so she wouldn't be found by him, so she took the opportunity when it came. But she didn't have the funds to take care of her daughter and left her with foster parents. She contacted them once in a while to check how her daughter was doing. She planned to take Jessie with her the moment she came back because she got married to a mafia mob who of course knew Antonio and Derek, he was neutrally connected to both of them. Grace actually did all that she could to get to where she was. But she realized that one day, she had tried to call Jessie's foster parents and they didn't pick up. She dialled their numbers over and over and over again but there was nothing. She was planning on paying a visit, but when she got to the house, tapes were surrounding it. Yes, for years now the cops were still on the case, searching for evidence even the culprit. But we all knew the culprit.
Seth.
She had thought Jessie was dead but was more than relieved to see that she was here with Antonio. The reason she had come here was because of revenge. She wanted Seth dead.
I smirked. I wanted Seth dead. He had lived way too long even after all his crimes. I looked at Antonio who rubbed his chin a little as he returned my gaze. He knew I wasn't lying when I told him my father had offended so many people and they all wanted him dead. I was certain that if Lornado was alive, he would have haunted my father without mercy. They both belonged to the mafia anyway. The sign on Seth's hand was one that I was trying my hardest to decipher, but it was confirmed that he had been working for Antonio since Antonio was bent on catching him as well. The wolf sign in between his thumb and first finger. I knew they used to be connected. Then Jessie turned to me after listening to every of the news.
"Are you done with the diary Elena?" She asked and I shook my head. "But you've gotten to the part where Leo saved me from two men right?" She asked and I nodded. "I mentioned that I saw a wolf tattoo on their hands and I saw the same tattoo on Leo's hands. I couldn't be so sure. They seemed to be working together. I thought how could they be working together after Leo had saved me that day? It was more than confusing because every single thing was leading to this man and the other man. They were two. I said so. I didn't know the other man but the first was Purity's father but they had the same tattoo. Then I arrived here when Leo introduced me to Damon and I saw the same exact tattoo. It made me feel deceived because those men were obviously working for them. I wanted to confront Leo about it but I held myself back. It might not be the way I was seeing it, but I still wanted answers."
"Were you able to see his face that day? Can you describe it?"
"He was tall, dark, he looked young like he was in his mid-forties, and he had long brown hair."
"Did he have a bracelet he was wearing?"
"Yes. Red."
"Is that your father?" Antonio asked and I nodded before looking at Grace.
"You're not the only one he's after. He's after me too. I'm his daughter and yet he abused me, sexually and in all concepts of abuse. You wanting revenge is totally understandable because that's what I also want."
"I gave away his location to your boss," Grace stated. It actually made me question my relationship with Antonio. Did he really see me as one of his men? I cocked a brow at Antonio.
"Have you...?"
"Yes, my men are working on it already. He'll be here some hours from now to be tortured. You, my princess, don't have to worry." He said and I nearly blushed. He just called me princess in front of everyone. He rose up from his chair and looked at both Jessie and her mother.
"We'll leave you two to bond. Three of us on the other hand have somewhere to be. Or would you like to stay here Leo?" Antonio asked, giving Leo a knowing look. Leo obviously liked Jessie, it was only good that the three of them bonded so Grace would know her son-in-law. I smiled at Antonio and we walked out of his office.
I realized it was the first time he left anyone in his office aside from Leo. I tilted my head. Where was the Antonio I knew in the beginning?
