Damon's POV;
I got out of the vehicle, still giving Elena an unexpectedly caring manner
"Come on."
I said in a calm tone with an outstretched hand towards her at the other side of the car door still shocked at my sympathy but seeing her lost in thought
"What's on your mind?" I asked.
She jerked up immediately just realizing my presence and grabbed my hand with ease to come off the vehicle which made me more curious to know what she was thinking.
She was looking at the flashy building in a puzzled manner. "Let's go in" I said holding her arms and taking her up the stairs carefully,
She held up a bit when we got in front of the French door, I knew she was new to this. Suddenly, I felt an unusual body movement that took control of me. I went for the door's handle and opened it, gesturing to her to move in.
I looked shocked at myself just as I saw the shock back in her own eyes, to cut the awkward moment short "I think it's been a minute and you've been standing there" I said in a surprisingly calm tone. "Oh" she replied as she walked in.
So many thoughts flashed through my mind at that moment, what is she doing to me? It's as though something is wrong with me.
"Welcome madam" A lady in black and white gonna welcome Elena with her striking smile. " And likewise you sir" I nodded. " She needs her items" I am not sure if I said correctly. " This way please" the lady gestures.
We all moved towards the crowd and I watched how Elena scanned the aisle of the convenience store, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. She definitely was not used to going out like this, especially not with someone like me but she still looked Impressive in her casual dress.
" What would you like?" The lady asked Elena who's still gazing on the floor, " Elena" I called rapidly. She looked at me quickly as she was startled by my voice and I looked at her impatiently and she understood.
She looked at the dresses on each stand until she stared longer at a red dress. I noticed her looking at it suspiciously. " Let her try this," I said pointing at the red dress to the lady. " Yes sir" she replied, picking up the dress and handing them to Elena.
"Thank you" Elena numbled softly. " Oh no, you're going to test this in the dressing room first gesturing towards a small area covered with a curtain. "Oh" Elena responded.
"Hurry up now," I said interrupting Their little chat, I watched her as she walked carefully to the dressing room. "I'll be getting the other items you wrote down," I said before she opened the curtain, she watched so innocently at the sheet of paper in my arms then I walked to the other part of the store selecting the items she needed in a cart. I grunted loudly. I felt irritated but tried to hide it cause I hate being in public but for her, I made an exception.
I walked back to the dressing room after gathering the items and got it to them. I couldn't take my eyes off what I was seeing, she was glowing in that red dress, she stared back at me puzzled. "Sir, she is very beautiful, isn't she?." The lady asked me, I nodded in agreement. "Let's go" I said ignorantly to never lose my arrogance.
I took Elena to the checkout counter with the cart, I couldn't help but notice the way some men were staring at Elena, Their eyes lingering on her, it made me very angry
"Here," I said to the cashier giving my credit card after accessing the item, as I waited for the transaction to go. We went down outside to load the package items in the car's boot and entered the vehicle, I sighed."I need to get a drink." I said hungrily
I drove to a nearby bar across the street and parked at a lot. "Let's go," I told her as I was feeling a little fatigued. We entered the bar this time but I noticed she was getting used to the environment as she walked more confidently, we entered the bar and took two seats facing each other, I ordered two bottles of beer from the waiter who later served us well
Thinking about the numerous items I bought for her and reading her invisible smile but enjoying her discomfort at that moment, my phone buzzed in my pocket. It was Leo, He must have the news ready for me, I stood up and walked over to an empty seat.
"Any news?" I asked in a low tone trying not to draw attention, I looked back and noticed Elena looking at me curiously.
Leonardo's voice was very urgent on the other end. "The gunshots at the hotel that night were just not only about Derek, but there were also other mafia men involved and they used Derek as a cover"
I clenched my jaw. I knew I had enemies who were searching for ways to attack me, but didn't know who exactly and couldn't pinpoint which rival mafia group would have planned this and for what reasons, the thought of it made me sick.
I was about to instruct Leo to get more information but my eyes unintentionally shifted to Elena's direction, and there, I saw a man with her, their proximity was so close that I knew he was whispering things into her ears. My blood boiled as I watched them discuss causing me to end the call abruptly. I was more concerned about the man who dared to speak to my girl. Ready to throw a punch if I needed to, I walked up to them.
Not minding if anyone was watching, I stood by Elena's side, my eyes locked on the stranger's. Cause why would she be blushing with him and not me? What was he after? I owned her, her smile, laughter, joy and sadness, I owned it all. She belonged to me, did she really want me to remind her about that?
I looked at the man with deadly intentions and I saw the fear in his eyes " I'm sorry sir, I didn't know she was with you" he stuttered moving a few steps back before turning to leave.
I turned my attention to Elena, "You don't speak to other men, younger or older." I said with a possessive growl. "You belong only to me. Got it?" I noticed the way she shuddered and loved it. But I couldn't help but feel there was more to that man than meets the eyes. Was she hiding something from me? Did she know that man? I barely ever saw her talk to anyone except me.
"I'm...s..sorry" she stuttered with her eyes wide open with flushed cheeks and that really sparked my interest. My anger didn't wane though, and from the look in her eyes, she knew exactly what was in store for her. I nearly chuckled. "I.."
"Shhh, you remember that you're my slut right, don't try to defend yourself." I dragged her up drawing her outside the bar to the car, she almost fell on the way but had to keep up with me cause I had no room for sympathy this time and it could get uglier, we both got into the car tension filled the air.
