Episode 67

It was another beautiful day. Not for Ace though. He was woken abruptly by Josh's men. It's been a day now and he hasn't eaten anything yet.

Josh walked in with his men. “Morning pal.." He said smiling mischievously. Ace was weak and could barely speak. “Your Wife and son are in the police station right? " he asked. Ace kept on staring at him, unable to speak a word. “It might take some couple of days but trust me, they're gonna be out of the station in no time..." Josh said.

He moved closer to Ace's ear. “I'll bribe the cops!" He said and smiled. “Do..do not.. fucking touch my family! " Ace managed to mumble out. “sorry I didn't hear you.." Josh teased. “Do not touch my family! " Ace yelled.

“Oh I won't, my men will do the job. It seems you'll die before they arrive. I night just spare you a meal today just to stay alive. You can refuse to eat it if you like, I wouldn't be worried if you die anyways!" Josh said and walked out.

“don't touch my family. Do not touch them!" Ace yelled as the men all walks out. The door was slammed..

Josh walked to his living room and sat to continue watching TV. “Where are they exactly?" He asked his guard. “They should show up any moment sir.." He replied.

“Those idiots better show up with something reasonable. Else, I'll chop their dicks off!" Josh said angrily.

Few minutes passed and the men finally showed up. “Where's it?" Josh asked eagerly. “He got away, The Box could have contained less useful things anyways.." The man replied.

“Yes, you're right.." Josh said and stood up. He suddenly hit the man so hard that he fell to the ground. “You let him get away, I'm gonna give you 24 Hours to fetch me whatever was inside the box. They won't come for the box if it doesn't contain something useful!" Josh yelled.

“Alright boss.." The ma. Said still holding his face...

...Back at Phil's place..

“Did they think I was carrying something valuable? " Simone asked. “Maybe they just wanted to know why you were there.." Phil replied. “They were there for the box. That was the instruction given to them.." Annie said. “And how sure are you?" Simone asked.

“The documents to our properties. Our bank accounts and many other things are also in the box. I won't just keep them laying around...” Annie said. “Oh. They must be there for the money!" Simone said. “That's what he obviously wants!" Annie said.

“What are we gonna do about Ace now. He has spent a day in Josh's place. It's just so weird we can't call the police to take care of this issue!" Simone exclaimed. “Enough with the police, we can't call them!" Annie said. “yeah, I know.." Simone replied.

“We need to find his location first.." Phil said. “The old lady mentioned his friend was with them. He should know Josh's location!" Simone said. “Yes, we need to Find that piece of shit!" Annie said.

“great, we'll go over to the grandma at night fall" Phil said. “Great, sounds like a plan! " Annie said..

The company just came for Annie's car. Annie watched as the car was taken away. Simone walked to Her. “I'm really sorry for what o did to your car.." He said.

“It's fine, they will get it fixed" Annie replied. “Come on in, I have some things to show you" she said and walked in. Simone followed her.

They both went to her room. Annie opened the box and brought out a laptop first. Various gadgets followed. Very strange looking gadgets were brought out of the box. They were actually not strange but Simone considered them to be as he hasn't seen anything like them before.

“What are these?" He asked eagerly. This is what I used to do. This are future drones. Very expensive and Portable. And oh, it has explosive in it which I can trigger using my computer. This are old drones. Some walkie talkies and oh, My gun!.

Annie held up her Beautiful pistol. “Wow, never held one of these before. Can I touch it?" Simone asked. “Sure!" Annie said and handed it to him. “Shit, it's kinda heavy!" Simone said.

“yeah.." Annie said. She took the gun from him and placed it back in the box. “can you sure me how the drones work?" Simone asked. “Sure.." Annie replied..

Later in the day. Phil, Annie and Simone were seen getting in the car. Simone drove them to Ace's place. They parked in front of Ace's house and watched as the insects creaked around. Not a single form of life was perceived.

“The old woman's house Is that one.." Simone said pointing at the house facing Ace's place. “Let's go now.." Annie said. They all got down from the car. “I think you guys should go along, I'll stay back. I might also stick around in Ace's house.. " Phil said.

“Okay, we'll be right back.." Annie said. They both approached the house. They reached the doorstep and rang the door bell. The door soon opened. “Good evening..you again?" The woman said to Simone.

“good evening mam, we need to talk to you.." Simone said. “Hmmm..." The woman said and looked around. “Come in !" She said. Annie and Simone gladly walked in. They took their seats.

“What would you like me to offer you?" The woman asked. “Nothing thank you.." Annie replied. “And you found man?" She asked Simone. “We're fine. Thanks.." He replied.

“Okay, why ate you here?" She asked. “We need to find Ace's friend. The cop" Simone replied. “Oh, the cop? " she asked. “Yes the cop.." Simone replied. “I don't know where he lives.." She replied. “Shit!" Annie exclaimed.

“But I do know he comes here 8 am and 7 pm almost everyday!" The old woman said. “He comes here everyday?" Simone asked. “Almost everyday!" The old woman replied.

“Simone, it's Two minutes past 7pm already! " Annie suddenly cried out.
