Chapter 10 Cuddle and Huddle

The sound of the birds chirping at the open terrace and the sweet morning air has slowly woken him up from his very satisfactory slumber.
And one more thing. He was happy. Very very happy.
Sleepy hazel eyes surveyed the familiar room. All was well and dandy.
His dragon beast was content too, almost purring inside his head. Good. He had been a pest for years.

He went quiet. Lucas guessed that answered his own question.
Nothing and no one could ever dispel his good mood today.
His sexy Argetlam slept soundly in his arms. Steamy air steadily caressed his bare chest, her soft cheek on his firm muscles.
God. This should be a permanent occurrence. After last night she would welcome his company moving forward. No matter the time of the day.
Rie hugged him in her sleep, lying almost half of her curvy body on top of his.
Not that he would complain. No way. This was heaven.
He was in his drawstring jogging pants while she slept in his shirt. And he was pretty sure she was only wearing a pair of panties. Fuck! That's sexy. Her body heat was like a blanket and her smooth thigh flung over his navel teased his morning arousal.

Last night was an achievement in itself. Her inviting him to her bed surprised him and pleased him at the same time.

Lucas knew the wait would be worth it. She was his soulmate and he would do anything for her.
Well, that reminded him. He needed to talk to Hughes to know what happened to their visit to his little chef's employee's apartment.
Slowly, he removed her limbs from his body. He hated leaving her bed.
But, he needed to do this for her. Rie had been worried last night and he knew she cared about her friend so he made the sacrifice to take care of her problem.
She sleepily protested. He murmured on her soft cheek that he will be back and kiss her temple and her lips.
To make sure she'll go back to sleep since it was way too early, he placed his huge pillow in his stead. She hugged it and nuzzled her face on where his scent was. He smiled. His cute sweetheart.
He mentally congratulated himself on their progress. Soon, they will be sharing so much more. His lips brushed hers again, even in her sleep her sweetness clung to him. Damn! Later. He promised himself.
The dragon king left a note and a single red rose he plucked from the garden outside before he left her. Hope his rider will like the gesture. He was new at this too and he was still learning how to make her happy day by day.
Next time they will have breakfast in bed.

"You look like a cat that licked all the cream in the canary, brother." Lucas tried to scowl --couldn't. Hughes was right. The gloat on his chiseled face couldn't be erased. Everyone had noticed the change in him since he met Anna Marie.
Leaning on his desk, he took a sip of his black coffee before speaking. "Any news about my Argetlam's employee?
Hughes frowned a bit from his question. "From what we have documented in her apartment, her fading scent had placed her presence in her bedroom last Saturday night. The sheets on her bed had sexual secretions so that means she brought a male home. You know what's weird?"
It was a rhetorical question. He waited for more of his brother's report.
"We couldn't place if her bed partner is human or supernatural. As if the scent was concealed deliberately."
The skin on his forehead creased. Yes. Weird indeed. "Can you go back and look for foreign prints? Maybe there is a chance that we can identify her male companion."
"Yeah. That's what I thought too. My team and I will go back and process the whole apartment. An elf couldn't just go missing. Soon, her relatives will be looking for her too." He nodded and stared thoughtfully at Hughes. He was the best tracker and investigator anyone could ever hope to find. If he was alarmed then it was with good reason.
"There is something you are withholding from me, Hughes." His hard eyes narrowed at his stoic face.
"Look, I'm not sure brother. I've glimpsed some signs of struggle on the elf's bed. At first, I thought it's part of kinky stuff and all but the new angle of the bed -- which is damn heavy because it's old wood from an elven village -- suggested that it moved from forced sex by a very strong male. The scuffles on the walls have deep impressions and some traces of blood all over the sheets, though minimal, it's something to look into."
"Do you need me with you?" Probably best if he was hands-on with this. His brother must be on to something.
"Nah, I got this. You concentrate on winning our Queen Dragon, eh? I know she's quite a challenge for you." Hughes grinned. They sure knew how to rub it on his face.
"Fuck you, brother. My Argetlam is warming up to me." Yeah. She was a tough nut to crack but he had all the patience in the world.
"From what I scent' it's not that warm enough." He laughed, dodged the book Lucas threw at him, escaping his brother's office in a flash.
Their progress was at a snailish pace and it irked him at times, nonetheless, it was what his soulmate wanted. Anything his little chef needed, he will gladly give.
He frowned. The cold showers had been his escape for days ever since he met her. He jerked off once at the thought of her --he found it lonely, so it's not an option for him.
Shit! He preferred his dick and balls not to fall off from frostbite by the frequency of ice-cold water touching his heated skin.
Remember, anything for his Dragon Queen.

Sonofabitch! The elf had lasted two days. It was entertainment at its finest. Endless sexual pleasure and her endless screams of joy.
He knew the bitch was into it. Her tears were proof of that. Too bad she's dead.
Muscles rippled from digging on the cold hard earth. It has to be at six feet so the animals won't scent the rotting flesh.
He glanced at the tiny form wrapped in his bedsheets. Fuck! He needed a replacement soon or he needed a plan to kidnap Anna Marie.
She was different. He would take care of her. Yup. Pinky promise.

There was one tiny bit of problem. The Dragon King. He had claimed his Rie.

Maybe he should listen to the voice in his head and join the enemies. Those guys might be more fun.
Yup. The great idea held some merit. They help him get Rie and he would help them get all the information they need to bring down the pack.
Or he could hostage one of the pups in exchange for Rie.

Whatever he decided, ultimately, he will have what he desired most.
