Chapter 111 Punishment
KIA
Following my time spent eating in the cafeteria, I was at last able to make it to the very last class of the morning. Even though the dean had advised me to self-study due to the fact that I would be so busy being an ace, the professor still allowed me to sit in and listen to the topic even though I had already been exempted from it. Despite the fact that I was a bit late, the professor still let me sit in and listen to it. Despite this, I found that sitting in the classroom and taking notes while the instructor was speaking was the most helpful way to learn the material.
My phone started ringing and vibrating while I was in the middle of concentrating on the presentation that was being given. I immediately left the classroom and went outside. It was a call from Asteria, the person who was speaking. As I responded to the question, I rolled both of my eyes.
"What—"
"Why did you allow Nathan Zac Ramirez to use the Facebook page to announce the student's level while you made me carry some piles of documents consisting of all of the names of the freshmen and announce their level?!!" When she yelled, the volume of her voice was so high that it came dangerously close to rupturing my eardrum.
"Well, why didn't you say that you wanted to use the page to make an announcement?" I replied with a grin on my face as I heard how irate she was on the other end of the line.
"Are you kidding me, Kianna?!!" she yelled.
"Eww! Why on earth would I even consider doing that—"
"Leave me alone and stop making fun of me! I have decided that I no longer wish to continue doing this! I quit! "She said in an angry fit of wrath.
I maintained my composure and a pleasant expression on my face while I listened to her complaints. "Really? Are you sure you want to quit?"
"Yes, I quit, b*tch!"
"Oh, I see. Okay, then I will let you transfer to the low tier now. Oh wait, but you just called me a b*tch. Okay, then I will let you transfer to the low tier. Okay. That indicates that you looked down on me in some way. You showed a lack of respect for the most accomplished student at this school. Because I don't have any other options, I'm going to have to have you kicked out of here right away... I'm sorry about that..." I said it while putting on an unhappy tone in my voice because of what I was about to say.
"Expelled?! But but but!"
"Yes, you heard it right, expelled," I interjected.
"However, you made things more difficult for me to deal with! I can't be held responsible for it—"
"It's something I've already been exposed to. Asteria, you insulted me by calling me a b*tch, and I will see to it that it is relayed to the dean as soon as possible. Goodbye." I responded, and then I disconnected from the call immediately. It didn't bother me that I could still hear her saying something else while I was on the phone with someone else, so I just disconnected the call when I finished talking. I have no interest in hearing anything else she has to say because it is complete nonsense.
When I turned around to go back to the classroom, I noticed to my surprise that the instructor had already left the room. The lecture has come to an end, and it is now time for lunch. After leaving, I returned to the office, where I found everyone present other than Asteria.
"Kianna, have you seen Asteria?" Vera asked.
"No, but the last time I spoke to her, a while back, she informed me that she would no longer be participating in this committee. I need you, Marcy, to search for an appropriate student who is capable of taking her place as the replacement."
Vera questioned whether or not they should "replace her."
"Yes. Because of her lack of responsibility and the disrespect she showed others, I had to ask her to leave, but I didn't have time to explain why. That is something that I want all of you to keep in mind. All right, let's go grab some lunch at the canteen." They listened to what I had to say, and I made them follow me.
We skipped the lobby and went straight to the canteen, where everyone seemed to recognize us and stare at us as if we were famous people. As soon as we entered the cafeteria, we made our way directly to our reserved seating area.
"Ace, what kind of meal are you in the mood for today?" Nathan's question was directed toward me while he was looking at me.
I don't understand what's wrong with him. When he looks at me like that, I get an awkward sensation that I can't quite put my finger on. Miaree jumped in with enthusiasm as an interlocutor.
"There is no requirement for you to take the order on our behalf. Someone else is going to get our order, so feel free to have a seat, Ramirez "Miaree remarked.
"I am not asking you, Ishii…." Nate reprimanded Miaree while maintaining an icy expression on his face. When I was about to stop them, Marcy suddenly teased them by making a strange sound. I couldn't help but laugh.
“Yieeee! That is exactly the same situation that my grandparents were in when they first came to this country. In a short amount of time, the two of you are going to start dating each other—"
“Ewww! No!” Miaree let out a bloodcurdling scream.
“Yuck! No!” The voice of Nate can be heard.
While Marcy and I watched, we couldn't help but laugh at the sight of the two of them giving each other the cold shoulder. When I looked over at Vera, she had a blank expression on her face as she stared at Nate, despite the fact that Miaree and Nate appeared to be very angry with each other. My intention was to silence them, so I gave a deliberate throat clearing.
"Cease right now. Oh, there it is! That's the food we ordered.
The student who spoke to us the previous time in the cafeteria arrived this time carrying our food, and he brought a friend with him. It turned out that one of them was the child that I had assisted the time before.
"Ace, this meal was prepared especially for you and the rest of the group by the cafeteria. I hope everyone will like it."
I greeted them with a smile and a "thank you" before turning to look at them.
Please do not be bashful about calling us with any questions or concerns that you may have. Ace, just so you know, these are some of my fellow students who are willing to serve you and the other members of the committee. These are Milly and Glen, in case you were wondering—"
“Glen.” As I looked back at the first-year student who I had assisted previously, a smile spread across my face. I could tell by the way that he bowed his head that he was feeling very self-conscious at this very moment. "He's not a stranger to me. Glen, how have you been? "I asked.
"I am doing just great, thank you very much! Many thanks for your assistance in this matter!"
"Are you going to make an effort to keep up with your schoolwork?"
"Yes, ace! I promise that I will give it my all, and that I will not squander the opportunity that you have given to me."
After completing our conversation with Glen, we returned to our work and immediately began consuming our lunches. Despite the fact that we have a considerable amount of work remaining, we did not stop working. I left the dean's office and went back to my office, where I completed all of the documents that required my attention before handing them over to the dean. As soon as I finished going over everything, I dashed straight to her office to brief her on the upcoming projects that are going to be carried out here on campus.
"Have you investigated all of these occurrences thoroughly? I am still able to afford you the opportunity to reflect on the situation. Ms. Saavedra, please do not feel rushed; I am not going to keep you waiting."
"I am sure, dean. Is there a problem, if so, what is it?" I asked.
The dean of the university swallowed and then cleared her throat. "I was just thinking that some of the projects you have proposed will require a significant amount of funding in order to be completed. Even though the university has guaranteed that it will fulfill all of the committee's requirements, I do not believe that the allocated funds will be sufficient."
"Ohh… I sincerely apologize. I suppose you could say that we went a little bit too far with that. Will you please permit us some breathing room, Dean? I still need to have a conversation with them and compile the ideas that they provided."
"Sure. I will give you two weeks to plan, and during that time, I anticipate that you will be able to come up with an additional project for me to consider. Anything else?"
I offered her a piece of paper, and as she snatched it up and began to read it, I noticed that the look in her eyes was one of bewilderment. "Ms. Saavedra, what exactly is this?"
In response to the dean's question, I stated, "A resignation letter."
She focused her attention more intently on the document, narrowing her eyes as she did so. "Your sister? I had the impression that you had such a high level of confidence in each and every member of the committee. What is the rationale behind such a snap decision?"
"Dean, I attempted to include her in this discussion. I gave her an opportunity, but I don't think she's going to take advantage of it because she doesn't see my assistance as a window of possibility for growth."
"Does this mean everything is over?"
"Yes, Dean, and in addition, I am submitting a request to have her dismissed from this university—"
"Hey, hold on there a second! You want your sister to be kicked out of this academic institution?!"
"Yes, Dean, and I would like for you to consider this request, which comes to you from the most accomplished student in this institution. I sincerely hope that my request won't be too much to ask of you..."
