Chapter 119 Night Rain
KIA
Mom introduced her to me, saying, "Oh, yes! Kianna, this is Jillian. Jill, this is Kianna, the wife of your brother."
The things that she said caught me off guard, and I was unable to come up with a suitable response to them. Do I have a correct understanding of what you just said? Is there a sister of Ares who can look after him and protect him? Because he has never mentioned his sister to me, I am completely oblivious to the possibility that he has a sibling of his own. He said that his dad died back when he was young. This girl must be the daughter of her stepfather with her mom.
She introduced herself by saying, "Hello, my name is Jill, and I am the younger sister of Ares. I have been looking forward to the opportunity to finally meet you in person! " as she extended her hand to shake.
"Uhm, hi! I never thought that Ares has a beautiful sister like you. He never told me he has a sister. I'm so sorry for reacting like that a while ago. I was just shocked about hearing that he has a sister..."
She questioned whether or not she was speaking to Kianna. "No worries.
"Yes, but you can call me Kia for short. It's so nice to meet you." "Yes, but you can call me Kia for short."
Ares yelled, "Jill!" as he approached Jill.
After turning around, I saw him coming in our direction very quickly. As he got closer, the first thing he did when he saw Jill was give her a big hug because they hadn't seen each other in years.
Jill exclaimed after an extended absence, "Long time no see, bro!"
Ares grabbed me by the waist and said, "It's been a while. Oh, wait, have you met my wife? This is Kianna, my lovely wife," as he introduced her to me. "It's been a while."
Jill immediately ran in the direction of Kyle after saying, "Yeah, my mom just recently introduced them to each other. Oh! Kyle! Hey, Kyle! "
It seems as though everyone here is familiar with one another, and I am the only newcomer. After that, while we were waiting for Ares' parents, we sat around the campfire informally. They were putting the finishing touches on the barbeque that would be served for dinner later on. When the temperature begins to drop, you will know that it is the right time. The evening around the campfire is the perfect time to celebrate with those you care about, including your friends and family. The skies opened up just as we were putting the finishing touches on the tent, and it began to pour rain. We made the decision to spend the night in a tent so that it would feel more authentically like we were camping, despite the fact that the cottage is not all that far from the surrounding forest. We were very fortunate in that we had placed the tent on a raised and level surface, which prevented any water from getting inside the tent. I had never in my life been happier, despite the fact that it was raining. The tent was surrounded on all sides by the peaceful forest and its towering trees. While we were all taking pleasure in the sound of the rain's very soft light droplets dripping on our tent, mom prepared some snacks and drinks for us to enjoy while we played games and talked about our day-to-day lives. We turned tent camping in the rain into an enjoyable experience. I was struck by how unusual it was to go camping while the rain was falling; we were huddled together in the middle of the forest, and it was a relaxing experience.
Jill suggested that while we were waiting for the rain to stop, the three of us play a game called "spin the bottle."
My curiosity got the better of me, so I inquired, "Just the four of us?"
She asked, "Are you guys in?" after responding with "Yeah, why not? So are you guys in?"
Kyle responded by saying that he would participate in the game "if Ares will play."
Ares declared, "I'm in," which prompted Jill to enthusiastically applaud his participation.
They looked at me expectantly, waiting for me to respond, and then they said, "Great! So, Kia, are you in? "
"Mmm, I guess that makes sense!"
"Alright! So the rules will be, if the bottle is pointed at you, you need to pick the truth HAHAHAHA! There will be no dare so that it won't be too much of a hassle. If you don't want to answer then you need to drink alcohol."
"Alcohol? But I didn't bring any alcohol! " Ares said.
She said to Ares while flashing him a wink, "Oh, calm down, brother. I brought some beer with me. Of course, I know you will not bring any alcohol today so I already did."
"Kyle, I need your assistance getting the drinks into my car. Can you please help me?" Jill asked Kyle. He then proceeded to leave with her after giving a nod.
During the time that we had to wait, I reached over and patted Ares on the shoulder. After that, he looked at me in confusion, wondering why I had done that.
He questioned, "Hon, are you feeling okay? Is there something wrong?"
"I never thought you had a sister that pretty. Is there something else that I didn't know rather than that?"
"Uhm, I... Regarding my family, they are the only family that I have..."
When I asked, "How about other things?" he appeared very anxious in response to my question.
I'm curious as to why he tried to keep something hidden from me.
"Uhm, I'm sure you're aware that I..."
Ares was about to say something, but Jill jumped behind him and shouted, "We're back!" This caused Ares to stop what he was about to say. She questioned both of them by inquiring, "What the heck is wrong with you two?"
