Chapter 27 Cat Fight
KIA
I took a deep breath before gathering my list of necessities, which included a vacuum, a pledge, a dust cloth, window cleaner, paper towels, a hamper or clothing basket, and some additional energy. Since my schedule for today is in the afternoon, I don't need to leave for school early. That is why I decided to do general cleaning around the house. I evenly spray each pane of glass, one at a time, with the window cleaner. I clean the glass with one or two paper towels, being sure to reach the corners and any smudges that might be present on the surface.
“Hon, I’m leaving for work now! See you later, hon. I love you!” Ares said and gave me a kiss on my forehead.
He was about to leave when I suddenly grabbed his hand, “Wait— I need to give you something.” I immediately went to the bedroom to get the bracelet that I bought yesterday. “Here! I forgot to give you this yesterday. I hope you like it…” I murmured while handing him the pair of my ruby bracelets.
“You also have one! Is this a couple of bracelets, hon?” he asked, and I answered him with a smile and a nod. He wore it and suddenly hugged me so tight. “I am happy that you were thinking of me while you were outside and shopping. Thank you so much! I really love it!”
“Go now. You might get caught in traffic if you were not going to leave now. I don’t want you to be late.”
“Okay, I’ll see you later. I love you!”
I never imagined that a marriage contract would result in such a wonderful life with him. It was like a dream from which I never wanted to wake. When he left, I decided to continue my general cleaning since I hadn’t finished every corner of the house. While I was busy sweeping the floor, I noticed the second room, which he had never opened since I lived here with him. He said that it was a storeroom for other things in the house. He said that he never opened it since it was messy inside and he didn’t have time to clean it up.
I went to the bedroom and grabbed the keys from the cabinet. Since I still have a lot of time, I decided to clean the storeroom as well. I unlocked the doorknob with the key and opened it. I was shocked to see a room full of mess. The room was like a small office; it had a table and an office chair, but there were a lot of files scattered on the floor.
“What type of storm passed through this area? Perhaps he doesn't have the time to clean this mess since he lives alone and spends all his time at work..."
I started to pick up all the files and gather them in the same place. When the floor didn’t have files and papers anymore, I started to vacuum the floor to get it clean. After I finished using the vacuum, I noticed a picture frame on the table. It immediately caught my attention, so I grabbed it.
It was Ares sitting in the office chair. In the middle of the table was a CEO sign, but it didn't provide the name of the CEO.
“I didn’t know that he was so close to his boss that he even agreed to sit in his chair.”
I grabbed my towel and wiped the dust off the picture frame and placed it on the table. When I was done, I immediately left the room and checked the time. It is still 10:28 a.m. I still have two and a half hours before my class starts. Maybe I’ll just have my lunch in the cafeteria later. After a ten minutes break, I rushed to the bathroom to freshen up to get ready for school.

The University of Cavite
The two-flight stairs next to the main entrance, which lead to some grocery stores on the first floor, appear to divide this dining establishment into two parts when I first enter through the gate. You can also think of it this way: white plastic dining tables and fixed seats are arranged vertically all around the staircase. Even though this university offers classes at noon, fewer people than anticipated attend. Not everyone in the room is eating; some are reading books, carrying bags, wearing sunglasses, or working on computers (the canteen has decent internet access); others are just conversing with friends without placing an order.
Even though I can dine in a restaurant, I chose to eat in the school cafeteria today because I don't have a lot of time. But as soon as I sat down and saw the oxtail stew with creamed spinach and potatoes, I started to drool. She set a bowl of creamed spinach in front of me; it was a dark green, finely chopped kind, and the white cream and steam emanating from it indicated that it was just cooked. I breathed in the warm, distinctive smell of spinach. A bowl of silky white mashed potatoes was sitting next to it. Due to the butter and milk that had been beaten into it to enhance its flavor and smoothness. In texture, it was rich, creamy, smooth, and firm. I was so eager to eat it that my mouth started to water.
“Poor Kianna, it seems that your hubby is starving you. You married a man who is even poorer than a rat, so it's your fault that you have a life like that!” My half-sister Asteria was giggling. With her arms crossed, she is standing in front of me.
I ignored her and continued eating, but she abruptly smacked my hand, causing the spoon I was holding to fall. I rose up and glared at her with rage.
“What the f*ck is your problem?! Don’t you see that I am eating here?"
She laughed and raised her eyebrow, “Well, I am not blind like you who don’t know that she was being played by his fiance and acting dumb every day!”
I smirked at what she said. “You’re right, you are not like me because you are a spoiled brat who likes to pester people and steal others' boyfriends. Right, snake?”
Many others heard what I said, and the room began to fill with commotion. Asteria observed the individuals glancing in our direction. She may have been embarrassed because of how angry she looked at me.
“How dare you!” She was about to slap me, but then I slapped her before she could.
Silence pervaded the entire cafeteria. There isn't a sound to be heard, and they are already focused entirely on us. Some people began filming us, and we were being recorded. When Asteria touched her face, she seemed like she was about to cry.
“Does it hurt? Do you realize that one slap won't be enough to cover what you've done? I've already given you the opportunity to stop bothering me and stop talking to me, but here you are bothering my lunch. But since I still have a class to attend, I will let you pass this time but the next time you pester me again. I will make sure that you will get what you deserve…” I grabbed my bag and started walking to leave the cafeteria but then she suddenly said something in her filthy mouth that made my anger burst the hell out me.
“You really resemble your slutty mother in every way."
It seemed like a piercing noise that kept repeating in my ear.
“Ohh! The Saavedra’s sister will start a fight! How do you feel about that, Kianna?” There was noise everywhere and it helped to trigger my anger.
I slowly faced Asteria. She continued to smile and appeared proud of what she had said. That face deserves the ground.
“What did you say—”
“Are you deaf? I said that you resemble your slutty mother—” She was unable to finish what she was saying when I abruptly rushed at her and pulled her hair.
I seized her in a bear grip after she slapped me. We were drenched in sweat. Our clothes were soaked. Then we dropped to the ground and began to roll, one on top of the other. We stood back up and resumed slapping and pounding each other's backs. Once more, one on top of the other, we collapsed to the ground, but this time with more forceful punches and slaps. However, we became worn out and bathed in sweat. Guards came toward us and ordered us to stop. We each left the other's exhausted state for a little while, and guards grabbed us all the way to the dean's office.
