Chapter 29 Commotion

KIA

I realize there are only a few more minutes of class left, as I gaze at the grey wall-mounted round black clock. I begin to gather my belongings while I think about the exhausting incident that happened this morning. It's time to go home at last. I take my belongings and head out the classroom door. I walk down a few stairs before I head out the main doors. I was pleased to see how wonderful the weather was when I went outside. A wonderful breeze is blowing, and the sky is a soft blue.

Ares texted me earlier that he would not be able to pick me up from school, so I decided that I would take the bus to head home. I've been standing there for what seems like an eternity, watching the cars go by, when I look up and see the white and blue bus approaching my stop. I shuffle my things and rush to catch the bus as it slowly comes to a stop in front of me, eager to go home.

When Kia arrived home, she immediately removed her shoes and went to the bedroom to take a nap. Kia was immediately gobbled up by sleepiness after less than a few minutes. It was after an hour that the door slowly swung open, and Ares entered the house, exhausted from work. He rushed to the sofa and leaned his head against it. He closed his eyes for half an hour before he decided to get up and prepare dinner.

He slowly opened the bedroom door, making sure that Kia wouldn’t be disturbed in her bed. Ares saw Kia peacefully sleeping while snoring.

“My wife seems drained out today,” Ares mumbled and slowly approached Kia to give her a kiss on her forehead before going to the kitchen to prepare for dinner.

When he reached the kitchen, he immediately grabbed some ingredients from the fridge and started cooking. It was so fancy and made him feel like an accomplished chef. Ham and cheese are rolled up in a chicken breast, which is butterflied and flattened to an even thickness. It is then breaded and cooked to make an elegant chicken dinner. When it was almost ready, the aroma of cordon bleu traveled into the bedroom, making Kianna suddenly wake up.

Before she could stand up, Ares immediately went to the bedroom while carrying their dinner.

"You are awake. Here, eat this before you go to sleep again." Ares said to prepare the bedside table and place it under the bed.

"We are going to eat here?" Kianna innocently asked.

Her husband nodded and handed her the spoon and fork. "Try it. I don't know if it is well-seasoned, but I hope it does!"

"You know that even if this doesn't taste good, I will still eat all of it, right? But, let's taste what Chef Ares cooked for me!" Kianna said and started slicing the chicken. While chewing, she didn't show any expression, which made Ares feel more nervous.

"...Mhm… I didn't like it…"

Ares was shocked and his disappointment with himself showed in his expression, "Maybe I didn't season it well enough. Don't worry, hon, I'll do better next time—"

"I didn't like it because I love it!" Kianna burst into a giggle, "You didn't let me finish my comment first. I really love it, hon. Thank you! Come on, let's eat!"

Ares didn't know what to believe anymore. He just grinned and started eating. While they were enjoying their delicious cordon bleu, Ares couldn't focus. He was being bothered by Kianna, who looked like she was so drained at school.

"Hon, is there something that happened in school today? You look so tired. I mean, I never see you go to bed without taking a bath first, and this is the first time that you did it." Ares murmured while staring at his wife.

"...I got into a fight with—"

"Fight?! Did someone hurt you at school?! Tell me who hurt you!" Ares hysterically said. Kianna immediately held his hand to make him calm.

"Calm down, calm down first… Don't worry, it's just a minor scratch from Asteria's nails."

"Isn't Asteria your half-sister?"

"Yeah… She approached me this morning while I was having my early lunch. I was really pissed off when she suddenly called my mom a slut. It really triggered me, so I grabbed her hair, and that's when everything turned into a mess. Dad was also summoned by the dean, and Asteria had the guts to lie, but fortunately, a kind person filmed everything that happened. So, she was being punished by the dean…”

“That explains why you have scratches on your hands. Let’s go see a doctor,” Ares said, and immediately stood up, but Kianna pulled him back to his seat.

“I am fine. It’s just scratched after all."

They continued eating their dinner and went to bed to rest after a long and tiring day. The next morning, Ares insisted on walking Kia inside the campus, but Kia refused.

“Don’t worry about me. If she hurts me again, I’ll make sure to call you. Okay? Go now. I don’t want you to be scolded by your boss for being late,” she reassured, as she touched Ares's face.

Ares calmly nodded in agreement, “Call me. I love you…” He gently kissed Kianna’s forehead, making Kianna’s cheeks turn red like an apple.

“...Mhm… I love you!”

Kianna immediately rushed inside the campus, but when she was about to head into their department, her friends Miaree and Marcy grabbed her hand.

“What is going on?”

“You need to see this, sis!” Marcy said while they were grabbing Kianna into the gymnasium.

“Nathan Zac Ramirez is having a press conference inside the gymnasium, Kia! He was out of himself and telling people that he likes you!” Maree interjected.

“What?!”

“Yes, and right now his fans are at war. They were so mad at you for tricking them and saying that you were not his girlfriend!"

THE GYMNASIUM

“I am very lucky to have fallen in love with her. I can finally see her. She came!” Nathan stated as he was looking in Kianna’s direction.

The reporters suddenly got into a commotion and immediately approached Kianna and started taking a picture of her.

“The heir of the Ramirez Group was talking to that girl. Could she be the lucky girl?!”

“Wow! This is the most wonderful news for today!”

It looks like she is a student at this university. "

“The rumor last time was from them! It stands a good chance!”

“Oh my God! The perfect love between an heir and a normal student!”

The crowd is in chaos. Her eyes hurt from the flashes that the camera was producing. Everyone is rushing to get close to Kianna, but the guards are there to defend her right away. They led Kianna and her friends to the stage.

What is wrong with him?! Why does he keep on telling lies? People will get me wrong! Sh*t! I’ve got to go or else his fans will attack me, and I don’t want to be the one in the news after this!

I suddenly stumbled at someone's feet, and the next thing I knew, I was already in his arms. He caught me.

“You little dumb. Why are you so clumsy? It makes me want to protect you…”

“Let me go! Don’t drag me with you if you want to ruin yourself!”

What the f*ck?! Is he out of his mind?! I immediately stood up and pushed him away from me. This is all absurd.

“It’s her! It’s her indeed!”

“Is this an official announcement? The heir of the Ramirez Group is finally dating someone?”

“Mr. Ramirez! I heard that you are going to marry someone from a great family. Is that her?”

“Of course, that’s not her, dumbass! Look at her! She doesn’t look like she is from a wealthy family!”

He walked in front and made everyone quiet, “Ladies and gentlemen, I'm sorry for making waves today. Let’s call it a day. Should there be any questions, please feel free to contact my assistant.” He said, and he approached me.

“Thank you for your help,” he whispered and just left.

What does he mean by that? I can’t believe he is leaving like this! He is such a cruel man! Crap, there are so many people. What should I do?!

“Excuse me, Miss. Are you the girl who was in the restroom with Mr. Ramirez?”

“May I ask, what do you think about Mr. Ramirez's love for you?”

“Do you think you are lucky enough?”

I can barely see because of the flash from the cameras. Please... Can someone take me out of here? I was so shocked when someone suddenly grabbed my arms and pulled me. When I look at who it was, I see my friends, Miaree and Marcy, my life saviors.

“Kianna, let’s go!”
