Chapter 31 The Ex and The Husband
KIA
The Ishii Residence
I am currently at Miaree’s house, spending time together since it’s Saturday and I don’t have anything to do in the house. Ares left the house early, and he just left breakfast and money for lunch with a note. He really is a responsible husband. I would be thankful to God that I met him.
“Marcy is always busy... I wish he wouldn’t be the next president in the next school year so that we could spend time together." Miaree mumbled while lying down.
We are currently painting a portrait of a girl while we are on the floor. There are no other people here since her parents are busy with their business in Japan. I have known Miaree for the longest time of all of my friends. When Miaree joined our class as a new student in high school, it is when we first became friends. At first, neither of us wanted to talk to the other, but with time, we grew close. The first time I spoke to Miaree, she rolled her eyes and said she didn't see the point and that we wouldn't get along. To my surprise, by the end of the school year, we had become the closest of friends.
We discovered how similar our tastes in music and clothing were after spending a lot of time getting to know one another. There was no stopping us after that. We stayed together all the time, and the class started talking about our bond. We used to visit one another's homes and assist each other with our academics. Every Sunday, we made it a point to eat lunch together. Together, we used to watch cartoons and movies.
“Kia, look at this!” she said and handed her phone to me, “It turns out Nathan Zac Ramirez posted his denial about the dating issues. He even said sorry to all his fans that misunderstood everything. And today’s news popularity is also dominated by other headlines. Finally, he gives it a rest!"
I immediately grabbed the phone and looked at it. “That’s great. So I will be at peace now since I don’t need to explain it to my husband.”
“By the way, Kia, yesterday, some reporters wanted to pester you, but your ex-fiance came out to help you get rid of them. Though he is a little bit stupid, he has finally come to his senses and finally did the right thing.” Miaree added.
“Really? Well, that’s good for him. Maybe I will forgive him if he keeps on doing the right thing and also if he stops hitting on me. I am already married and I don’t have any plans to get back to him. Duh, as if! Anyway, how was that guy that you keep on telling me about? That guy you met on the internet?” I said, changing the topic.
“Next question, I don’t want to answer that.”
“Why not? Did he ghost you?” I curiously asked. She didn’t answer. Instead, she acted like she was reading something from her phone. “Oh, my God! He did!” I said and started laughing.
Miaree mumbled, "You're a terrible friend. Even though you have a handsome husband, you're already treating me this way, and I'm already broken because of it.” She said and acted like she was about to cry, but I didn’t stop teasing her until I was satisfied.
Yes! I know! I am a really good friend!

After staying at the Ishii residence for almost two hours, Kianna decided to go home since Ares texted her that he would not have that much work today. They agreed to meet at the mall, which is only a short distance from where Kia is. When she left the Ishii residence, she decided to walk since the mall was within walking distance. When she arrived, Ares was still not there, so she decided to wait behind the tree since it was too hot today.
She grabbed her phone and started calling Ares, but he was not answering. Minutes have passed and it has been almost ten minutes since Ares hasn’t shown up. Kianna was about to make a call again when suddenly someone tapped her back. She slowly turned her head with a pout on her lips to show Ares that she was mad for making her wait for so long, but then she realized that the person behind her wasn’t Ares. Her expression changed and became really serious.
“What do you want, Vince?” Kianna seriously asked.
“Hey, calm down, I didn’t follow you here, I just saw you standing here alone, so I decided to approach you—”
“Okay, so?”
“Maybe you wanted a ride? I can take you home if you want to…”
“No, thank you.” Kianna immediately refused Vincent, but then Vincent suddenly grabbed her hand.
“But but I helped you with the reporters yesterday. Didn’t you appreciate what I had done for you?”
“I did appreciate it and want to thank you for what you did for me. But please, Vince, don't you have some shame on yourself? I am already married. It’s impossible for us and let me clear this with you, I will never, ever, get back to you. Even if you leave Asteria. We are already done. Just accept it and move on.”
Kianna feels pain as Vincent's hold on her hand becomes tighter. Vincent refuses to let go of her hand, despite her repeated attempts to do so. “I know, but Kia... I changed… And— and you can divorce him even if you are married! I don’t mind! Please let’s talk about it. How about a meal for today?”
“Let go of me! What is wrong with you, Vince?!”
He gets closer and closer, making Kianna shiver in fear. “I will do everything just to make you come back to me, Kianna.”
“No! I don’t want to be with you anymore! I don’t want to be with a cheater like you!” Kianna shouted.
“I really changed. How do you know that I changed if you don’t try to date me again—”
“Are you insane?! Get off me!”
“Let her go!” Vincent was being pushed away by Kianna when a man suddenly dragged her away, and the next thing she knew, Vincent had fallen to the ground.
“Ares?” Kianna said.
Vincent swiftly rose up and faced the person who came at him aggressively while still feeling the pain from the hit he had just received. “Huh? Where does this superhero come from?! Hey, mind your own business! She is my fiancee!”
“Pfft—I am her husband.” Ares gave Vincent a cold stare. “You are done if you dare to harass my wife again!”

A tornado strikes his face and brows. Thunderstorm eyes are covered in lightning. He wears a furious mask on his face, and I have to convince myself that he is not angry with me. He looked angrier than I’d ever seen him look.
Vincent started stuttering in fear. "You..." I— That, that..." I can see him shiver. He took a deep breath and composed himself, “So what? Even she is married. I still have the right to go after her! I am his fiance. I was the one who got her first! You just manipulated her to marry you. You sc*m! Besides, she can divorce even if she is married! What are you proud of? Can you provide her with a happy and wealthy life?” Vincent started laughing like a crazy person, “Look at your car! Huh! A Suzuki Swift? Really?”
“What did you just say…”
Oh no! Rage pulsed through his veins. Molten anger rolled through him. I can’t let them fight here! We might end up at the police station!
“Hon, calm down!” I said and pulled his hand away, letting him face me. “I am hungry. Let’s not mind him, okay? Let’s go?” I asked, but he didn’t answer and grit his teeth furiously. He gets pissed off by what Vincent said. I immediately pulled him towards the car and left Vincent alone.
“Kianna! Where are you going? We need to talk!” Vince said, but I didn’t mind him and just continued walking.
He kept silent after getting in the car... I peeked at him to see his reaction, but he looked like he didn't like what he heard a while ago. Is he angry?
"He is just my ex-fiance. He keeps pestering me and wants me to get back with him, but I refuse."
He looks at me and listens to what I am saying, but then he immediately escapes his gaze, "I got it." he said, starting the car and driving away.
Sh*t! He is indeed angry. Why does he keep on acting like this all of a sudden? He must know what happened last time… That f*cking rumor! Argh… it sucks!
