Chapter 70 Nightmare
KIA
Why do I keep getting brought back to this place? When I turned around to see who it was, I realized I was still walking down the same road. I was walking and making my way towards the main road when all of a sudden I heard a voice calling my name. I turned around and saw that it was the same voice as before. However, the way it sounded this time was entirely different. This person has a much deeper and more menacing voice. The same feeling came over me as before: my heart started beating very quickly. The wind is much stronger and feels much colder than it did earlier. As I stood there, shivering in the brisk air, my teeth began to chatter. The whistling sound that was made by the trees made the atmosphere even more unsettling.
I long to be in familiar surroundings...
After hearing the voice coming from a further distance, I picked up the pace of my walk. The sound of it is reverberating in my ear. It's impossible for me to tell how long I've been walking because I can't make out the path leading to the main road. I had the impression that I was walking in circles. The distance traveled is going to take considerably longer.
The sweat ran down my forehead, and my heart was pounding so hard it hurt, and my chest was becoming increasingly hot. Since childhood, I've had a phobia of the nighttime, and that fear hasn't gone away.
“Kianna…”
When I turned around to look again, however, there was no one there. I told myself not to be afraid and to run as fast as I could because the deep voice was making my body feel as though it were going to freeze.
“Kianna…”
I had stopped covering my ears with my hands when I suddenly became aware of the sound. "What it is that you want from me?! "Would You Please Come to an End? I uttered those words despite the fact that tears were streaming down my cheeks. However, the voice did not cease, and it proceeded to keep saying my name over and over again. The voice was getting louder and louder until all of a sudden, I felt something press against my shoulder. I had to force myself to look at it, and when I did, I saw a hand that was covered in blood. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
I was startled, and all of a sudden I just realized that I had just woken up, and that I had just realized that it had all been a nightmare.
“Kianna! Oh, God. You make me feel so nervous. I have been trying to wake you up for the past ten minutes while you are having a nightmare. Please don't let the nightmare win. Are you okay? — Wait, let me get some water first. Hold tight, I'll be right here. Ares remarked as he hurried out of the room. "I'll see you later," Ares continued.
I feel like I'm going to drown in my own sweat. I couldn't tell if it was a dream or a real event, and I was curious about the difference. I was sweating profusely, I was bothered, and I was looking around for something that I recognized. I was scared beyond all reason. It takes a while before I am able to place my current location. Then, the dawning comprehension that it had all been a nightmare jolts itself into my consciousness all at once. It's kind of silly of me to get worked up about something like this. As a result of the adrenaline rush, my heart is thumping extremely fast. I wish I could calm down with a glass of water, but after everything that's happened, I feel like I can barely hold my head up.
Ares was carrying a glass of water when he luckily entered the room. I can see the anxiety and nervousness in his eyes. I am worried about him. "Have a sip of this first," the host instructed. Before beginning to question me, he waited for me to compose myself and finish the glass of water that he had given to me.
"What do you hope to accomplish in the future? "Why do you look so scared and you are even screaming?" he questioned a little while ago. "Why do you look so scared?"
Sh*t — Should I go ahead and start telling him about what occurred? But I don't want him to even consider the possibility of it. I have no doubt that he will approach that situation with the utmost seriousness. He needs to find solutions to a great number of challenges. It is not possible for me to be a nuisance...
"Hon, are you trying to keep something from me that I don't know about?"
“I— I… I'm just… just…"
"It's okay. You can trust me. I am the man who will eventually marry you. It is my duty to always be there for you in whatever you may need. He comforted me with a smile while he held my hand and looked at me intently.
"It was a strange thing, one of which I have no clear recollection," the speaker said.
"Are you able to clarify it for me in greater detail so that I can comprehend it?"
"It took place when I was on my way home from having dinner with Miaree and his uncle," she said. "It was when I was going home." I was taking a short cut that led all the way to the main road when I was walking there. Considering how close the restaurant is to here, I seriously considered walking there instead of driving. As I was going about my business, I became aware that someone or something was following me. It's dark, so I have no idea what that is, but when he started talking, everything suddenly became much more unsettling—" The room is dark, so I have no idea what that is.
“He?”
"It's definitely the voice of a man," the respondent said. A deeper voice, something creepier that caused my body to tremble in fear at that time"
He asked me, "What did he say?" as his curiosity and concern about my story grew to new heights. "What did he say?"
"He called my name," the speaker said.
Ares jumped in and said, "So that means he knows you..."
I responded, "Seems like that, since I don't know how he knew my name." "Seems like that,"
"Had you a look at the expression on his face? Have you noticed any movement on his part toward you? You seem to be in pain. F*ck! I am sorry that I did not pick you up from that restaurant and accompany you on your journey home instead of allowing you to travel unaccompanied. Please accept my sincerest apologies, sweetheart.
"No, I did not see his face; however, I did notice that he was wearing a brown hoodie and that he is a tall man. It's a good thing he didn't come any closer to me, because I have no idea what might have transpired or what he might have done to me if he had. The individual who assisted during that time period was the lady about whom I had previously informed you. She was the one who had extended an invitation to join her for dinner at her home. During our walk together, she stayed close by my side. And you have nothing to apologize for, sweetheart."
“I see. I will make sure to express my gratitude to her for accompanying you on that evening; however, it is my duty to look out for your safety. Don't be concerned; I will see to it that he or she is kept well away from you. While he was giving me a bear hug, he made the statement.
We did not move from that position for a period of time that I am unable to determine. Given that it was still three in the morning, the situation was very serious. He instructed me to go back to bed and continue sleeping. He assured me that he would be here to protect me in the event that the other man unexpectedly appeared again anywhere. I tried to go back to sleep, but I have a nagging sensation in the back of my mind that prevents me from drifting off to sleep. The nagging is either "can't sleep in case it wasn't a dream...," or "can't sleep because I don't want to go back into the same nightmare." Both of these nagging sensations prevent me from falling back asleep.
