Chapter 85 Special Place
“I will claim it…”
“Good. Now, I want you to do something for me. Make sure that you will be able to do it properly because if not, you know where you will end up.”
“What— What is it?”
“I will tell you later but first you need to fix yourself. You look like a f*cking mess.” Ares mumbled and stood up. He then signed something from one of his men. Ares men immediately put a gag in Vera’s mouth and carry her and left the room. She tried to fight for her life but then her strength couldn’t even make her stand anymore. She gets so weak.
“Mhmmm!” Vera moan while they were taking her in a van.
After his men left the area he then left the abandoned house and went to his car. He grabbed his phone and called his secretary, Kyle.
*Ringing * ringing * ringing *
"Boss?” Kyle answered in the other line.
“Kyle, the girl is on her way make sure to take care of her and make sure she looks presentable. We need her tomorrow.”
“Yes, boss. Boss, you have a lot of meeting today. Are you going to attend it or should I reschedule all of it?”
“I can’t go to work today. Take care of it. Reschedule everything and if they didn’t agree on it then cancel their meeting. I don’t have a lot of time. I still need to take care of Kianna today.”
“Copy, boss. Is there anything else, boss?”
“Yes, I want you to investigate the current investigation that is happening at the University of Cavite. Make sure to don’t expose your identity. Also, make sure to check the Saavedra’s business and their private property. That’s all.”
“Yes, boss.”
* call ended *
It was a seemingly beautiful day as Ares drove on a joy ride in his bright blue sports car, with the wind in my hair. The road itself is wet and shining in the headlights of other cars as he drives, his gaze taking in his damp surroundings. As he continued driving, he saw a car coming rapidly around the curve. The car did not show any signs of slowing down as it headed toward the intersection. The light turned yellow and then quickly red. Another object caught his eye that made me fear what was going to happen next. A police officer is trying to make him stop his car.
One of the police officers came up to him and introduced himself, “Good day, sir. May I know your name?”
“Ares, sir. Is there something wrong?”
“We just want to ask some questions. Are you willing to cooperate sir?”
Ares couldn’t stop thinking about the fact that they abduct a girl in another town. He then thinks about driving away but then the police officer called his name.
“Sir, Ares? Are you okay?”
Ares immediately answered with a nod.
“Have you ever seen this driver before? On the road or around town?” The police officer asked while handing Ares a photo. He was so nervous about taking it but he doesn’t have a choice but hide his fear and get the photo. When he saw that it was a picture of a man and not Vera, he took a long breath.
Ares quickly responded, “No, I have not officer.”
The officer continued, “I learned from the call back to the station that the driver, Dave Simon, is considered the town drunk and does not currently have a valid license due to drinking and driving”. He then asked Ares some questions and asked him to fill out an incident report. Still shaken up by the whole incident Ares gladly accepted.
The officer ended their conversation with a, “Thank you so much for your time, Ares. We really appreciate it.” the officer waved a good bye while Ares was driving away.
Ares checked the time, it is already 12:25 pm, he then increases the gas pressure and the speed is indescribable. Now that his field of vision has narrowed to the road in front of him, his peripheral vision is completely gone. Each thing he notices is obscured by the fog. He heads back to the large building where he parked his Suzuki Swift Car. As he arrived the same man still greeted him and gave him the key to his Suzuki Swift.
“Here, catch,” Ares said as he throws the key of his Lamborgini Aventador. He then went to where his Suzuki Swift is being parked. He gets in and drives it all the way home.

I was so excited when I heard the sound of his car in front of our house. I immediately stood up and opened the door for him. “You’re back!” I said excitedly.
“Aww, my wife is waiting for me?” He said and gave me a tight and warm hug.
“I was waiting for you to cook something for me. I am so hungry!”
He couldn’t stop himself and burst out laughing. “I see! I see! My wife is hungry, ha? Let me change my clothes first and I will prepare your lunch, okay?”
“Okay!” I said obediently and went back to the couch to watch my ultimate favorite cartoon, stitch. It was being played on the television every afternoon.
It didn’t take him that long to prepare our lunch. I immediately munch in when he served it to the table.
“After this, do you want to go somewhere? I don’t have work today so I think about spending the day with you. What do you think?” Ares asked.
“Mhm… I already have a place in my mind! It is a special place to me!”
“Great! So, finish your food and prepare yourself because we are going to that special place of yours.”
I believe that each of us has a lovely place within us. Years ago, I used to spend a lot of lovely moments in a wonderful area. However, there are moments when I feel like I'm the only one who finds this location appealing, and I wonder if it will still be as lovely when I return to see it. Maybe in my head, I made it beautiful. This place is meaningful to me because it is part of the county I loved, is part of the county where I grew up, and is part of my childhood. I used to go there back then…

The Small Island
On the small island, the sky was a wide, endless blue that shone brilliantly. The small island of pink, blue, yellow, and orange has a stunning sunset that is unmatched by any other; it is a kaleidoscope of colors that calms the soul. The water was clear and gentle, and the sky was a duck-egg blue that merged perfectly with it. It was stunning, like a Picasso painting that had come to life in front of my eyes. Its beauty is unparalleled. The water was crystal clear, supple, soothing, and sparkling with an apparent purity.
I walked along the length of the peaceful coast in a leisurely stride, as if time had no effect on my soul. As my feet lightly stroked and left their impressions on the silky, smooth sand, the lavender and pink morning roused my thoughts. I left a trail of tracks in the sand behind me, and a small part of my heart rejoiced at how the calm waters soon caressed and smoothed them.
We could see the enthusiasm in each other's expressions, and his grins were incredibly enticing. We both felt as though it was meant to be as we chatted because of how animated and energized we were and how similar our personalities were. With the view of this paradise island, a place where everything seemed perfect and where there is insignificance, we were implacably drawn together.
When he would start to talk, I would get butterflies in my stomach because I had never imagined that someone could make me feel so at ease and that I could be myself around them. I was able to sense the sensations of kindness, fear, and passion. Before meeting this man, I was the type of person who never believed in love because I thought it was just another cause of suffering. However, now that we have become lovers, I can't imagine him ever hurting me.
When the sun's warm rays fell on her eyes, they shone like a lustrous pearl that had just been held up on a black sand beach. Her summer white dress complemented her lips, which were a vivid cherry red. You could clearly see each beautiful curve of her body since the sun hit her in an ideal way. She had an ocean breeze-like scent like it was blowing in from the sea. Just try to multiply the ideal, most stunning woman you have ever seen ten times. In every way, absolute perfection. Those words were running in Ares's mind right now.
“Do you know that I also have this kind of place where it gives me comfort from this stressful world? Do you want to hear it?” Ares asked. I smiled as I answered with a nod.
“This location lies in the country, in the town of Sarangani, in the ancient Zulla region, a tiny mountain range. Because there is so little room, many live in apartment or condominium buildings. I grew up in one of the various buildings in Zulla, where I could see the beauty of the mountains from my bedroom window and constantly explore with my eyes the forest or the meadows in search of a tidy and peaceful spot. And I discovered one on a hill near the town's back. Its 100-foot square size, seven old trees, wildflowers, and an abundance of bugs and ants in the summertime are all features of this area. When I was younger, I lived there with my grandma, and I had that experience. I used to visit there to take a seat on a rock and gaze at my trees and the nearby town. There was a massive maple tree with a very old trunk there. The old maple tree was on my right, and there were three smaller trees in the back, three on my left side, and three more. White, yellow, purple, and blue flowers of various varieties were present. It was nobody's place. Nobody owned that hill, but it was beautiful and peaceful and I dreamed many times about a white house over there.”
I think that these kinds of places are meaningful to people because they are natural and people can be there alone, away from their everyday life.
“Oh, I forgot to tell you something…” Ares murmured while looking at me.
“Mhm? What is it?”
“Happy monthsary, hon…” he said.
I never thought that he would still remember the exact day of the month when we first met…
