Chapter 15

Audrey Howey’s PoV

What is he thinking? That I'm weak and I cannot protect myself? Well, excuse me. I'm a member of the karate club during high school. Then he planned to ditch me? Is he informed how severe looking his wounds were just a while ago? I will be there just in case he went too hard on himself. I quickly grabbed my grey jeans and navy blue shirt with my rubber shoes. I tied my hair to a bun and headed outside. I saw Troy waiting for me outside.

"Let's go." He said. He's wearing a black shirt and jeans, emphasizing his tan skin and electric grey eyes. I nodded. As we got outside we saw Aunt Beth and Madam Rosette drinking tea outside. I smile at them, they smile black. I saw Matthew sitting on the bench too. He stood up and bows his head, "You're taking Luna? but Alpha-"

"It's okay, I won't let her stay long in there." his voice changed again. His warm smile turned to a serious and scary one. When he's with me, he's so childish looking and now he's outside with his pack he looks cool and calm. Why?

He nodded and walked ahead of us to start the car. He held my hand and entered. Matthew said that we better take a car for now because of Troy's condition and also for my security. That cleared me that they were usually taking this path by foot. He leaned closer to me, his body is always warm, why is that? I've read that the vampires have the usual cold skin and pale complexion because the sun can't touch their skin, so why is it that wolf having warmer bodies? Maybe-

"I like the way you tied your hair like that." he whispered out of the blue. Huh? "You're so beautiful" he's husky voice echoed inside my head. I blushed, he always says things without caution.

"Thank you." I said. “But I’m still upset you are in this state.”

"Always remember, you're mine forever." He whispered and I chuckled. What is he saying? Is he claiming me now? I knew it. This guy is crazy.

"We're not even dating!" I pointed out. He didn't even ask me to be his girlfriend in the first place. I’ve never been in a relationship. Maybe, because I was afraid that I would not be enough for that person. I am not as amazing as other girls. I am just ordinary.

"What are you talking about? It's our tenth anniversary when you came back to me." He said innocently, "You're already my girlfriend ever since. That makes the Luna of my pack," he said and then he nuzzled my neck and kissed it once more. I let out a low groan. Then he let go.

"Are you being serious right now Troy?" What did he just say? All this time I have a boyfriend and I don’t even know anything about it.

"Yeah. You can't say no. I should plan for the wedding too, what do you think?" He said and smiled at me. I shook my head; I never have had a boyfriend since I was eight. That changes a lot of things. What would happen if I told that to my friends now? They are always teasing me but all this time I am actually in a relationship. I laughed at the thought.

“At least pursue me first.” I pouted.

“I will court you. I will prove it every day until I die.” He said and I was shocked. No one ever said that to me before. “Come closer.” He said and I did.

He kissed my neck. I tried to push him but he held my hand to stop it. He licked and when I felt his teeth on my skin I quickly backed away.

“What are you doing?” I asked.

“I need them to know that you are owned.” He said. I touched it and when I looked at my reflection on the car I saw it, it’s a hickey. I want to scream at him for doing such a thing! This will cause a lot of misunderstanding.

" If my Aunt and Grandma saw this I'm doomed!" I hissed and he shook his head.

"Trust me they know exactly where it came from." He winked.

What? If they get the wrong idea I will punch this guy straight in the face. I will make him say what really happened. His mark is on my skin now.

"We're almost there." Matthew announced.

We've just arrived at the 'pack house'. But I can't help but ask myself what the hell this place is. I just wanted to know more about Troy, and what kept him so busy while I was gone. Or should I say, skip ten years of his life. That reason was such a simple one, but coming here was such a wrong move. Now we're in the middle of the forest in the middle of nowhere. This is not what I am expecting. I am expecting a facility but then there's this big house. Are they serious, a house in the middle of the forest? How creepy.

I felt the cold breeze brush my skin, and heard dried leaves drifting with the wind. So many trees were covering the area. A sign beside it says ' No trespassing'. Oh great, a private area. I was so scared and dazed that I nearly screamed when someone grabbed my hand. It was Troy.

"Stay close to me all the time. For your place is beside me." he said, his eyes darkened again. His grip tightened. "Don't walk around without me."

I nodded. Then let myself be dragged to the front door. It was so big, way bigger than the mansion. But then, this house is a mess. The tables were broken, and the sofas were full of scratches. The floor was smeared with red fluids I sure as hell don't want to know about.

It stinks. I had covered my nose. I can hear voices. Troy let go of my hand and pushed me on the back to where Matthew was located. He let out a loud howl. Matthew held me at my shoulders as I heard footsteps.

Wolves come out of nowhere. They approached us and formed a semi-circle. Troy was in the middle of them, baring his canines. His eyes were overflowing with nothing but pure anger. I wanted to console him, but the tension in the air made me doubt I'd be able to approach him and get away with my head still attached. They respectfully bowed their heads, letting Troy speak.

"What happened here?!" his voice became deeper, filled with intimidating fury.

One of them spoke, " Someone told us you were dead, Alpha." he said with surprise.

"You all think I'm that weak?!" He screamed and clenched his fist. "I am the Alpha,

your leader, who amongst you challenges my leadership?! I shall prove my worth without question!"

There's silence. I tried to calm myself too. If I act scared they will lounge on me. These people, all of them are wolves?

"Who?!" Troy's voice echoed at every corner of the room.

Someone stood up from behind them. The area was filled with whispering and mumbling of words about how foolish he was. He was questioning Troy’s power? What’s got into him?

"Here I am, Alpha." he said while he stood still like it was no big deal.

"Are you challenging me, Vince?" Troy said to Vince.

"I am, I cannot leave this pack to you!" the man growled. “I am here to challenge you.”

"Well it's settled, we are going on to fight to death! The whole forest shall serve as our battle field. I accept your challenge, Vince." Troy looks frustrated and mad. He must trust that man but then he got betrayed. But they will fight now? Troy is not even feeling well!

"Wait, what?!" I spoke without thinking. Oh good...

Me and my pack arrived at the location where the southern boundary ends. We've been waiting for an hour, but the intruders never showed up. I've decided to take charge to their territory. But, there's nothing.

Nothing. The houses were cleared. The markings are still there. They left eft nothing important. It's like the whole pack moves to another location. "Alpha.", Gabriel called me. "Inform everyone to retreat. Return to the pack house." I said.

"Yes Alpha.", he replied.

We headed back to the pack house in silence. I can't believe those stupid guys fled. No trace left. What's the purpose? They will never get away from this. How did they escape without me knowing? Who is on their side? Their pack isn't that huge to have such a connection with the other great packs out there. But, I'm not certain about it. But still, what's their purpose? What's the catch? Is it planned? The pack leaders gathered at my office to talk about what happened and the possibilities that might happened.

When the meeting is done. I went to Audrey's room where she's staying while I'm gone. Gabriel and Matthew are with me. The guard wolves of her room bowed at me. I knocked but no one answers. I knocked once again, and again but still, no one opened the door.

"Audrey its me.", I said.

Silence. I kicked the door opened. The room is empty. The windows are widely open. Her phone is left in the bed. There's a sticky note pasted on the glass window.

'You let your guard down to your precious Mate, Alpha.',

I clenched my hand into fist.

"Audrey!", I growled in anger. That's it! This is their plan! One you take the Luna and it weakens the Alpha. I looked at Gabriel and Matthew.

"Inform my hunters, track the enemies now!" They both nodded. I crumbled the note with my bare hands.

'I don't give a sh*t!' my wolf told me 'I'll show them' I answered.

I ran down the stairs, "Damn you! Daniel." My hunters are lined up. "Scout the lands, be careful, if you noticed anything strange report it to me!.", they nodded. I dismissed them and went to my office. I opened one of my scrolls and studied the map, I marked the locations.

Daniel might be watching me now, laughing. I felt useless. Without my Mate I felt useless. How could I leave her? I promised to protect her, but what have I done? The man behind this will suffer for the rest of his life.

Darkness. All I see is darkness. I tried to rub my eyes, but I couldn't. I felt a cold metal attached on my hands and my foot. A rope was tied up around my waist and it touches my bare skin. I shivered. The place where I am now is cold. I sniffed some foul smell. It's a smell of a disintegrating body. I heard several drops of water, slowly pouring to the ground. I tried to stand but the metals are pulling me back. I licked my dried lips, I tasted a blood, my blood. I tried to open my eyes but a cloth was covering it. I tried to shout but nothing comes out of my mouth. My throat is dried, I'm dehydrated. My skin starts to ache. I can felt the numbness, numbness of my body. Then the door cast open.

"Get her." The stranger commanded. Footsteps walked towards to me.

They untied my blindfold and the chains around my hands and foot. I scanned the room, with my eyes trying to adjust. It's an abandoned library if I am mistaken. I glared at the man standing near the door. His face is not that visible, I cannot recognize him completely. He's tall and has a masculine body, topless and wore pants. The two men hold my bruised arms and lifted me up. I yanked. I glance at the other side of the room and saw a cage. A cage with a disintegrating body, body, of a human. The bones are showing and maggots are slowly coming out. I closed my eyes and trying to delete the image. My head hurts. As I got out, the moon shines bright tonight, very bright.

"I'm sorry princess. The Alpha wants to see you." the man said and dragged me with them.

We entered huge room. I observed that the room is almost empty. There's a pair of couch but nothing more. The man gestured and I took a seat. My butt slowly landed on the couch. My thigh hurts. My body hurts. Troy. I want to see him now. Where are you, Troy? The huge door opens. A man with aged of forty's escorted by two enters. He's wearing a button up white shirt and pants. He has a turquoise blue eyes and tan skin. Somehow I felt hatred. I don't like this man.

"How are you, Audrey?", the man said. His cold voice chills my spine. When I saw his face, I felt weak.

"How do I look?", I managed to answer. My throat sores.

"I suppose you don’t recognize me? Well, I can't blame you. You’re still a child back then." the man said. I narrowed my eyes and have this 'are you kidding me' look on my face. He snapped his fingers and the other men left. It's just the two of us now. He sat beside me.

"You looked exactly like your mother, Audrey", he said. I felt pain. My heart shattered to pieces. My mom?

. "Who are you?" I said and rubbed my aching bruised arm.

"Oh, I haven't introduced myself yet. I'm Daniel, your mother's and your Alpha.", I gasped. What?! I'm not a wolf. I'm human. What is he saying?.

"I'm sorry you got the wrong person, sir. I don't know what you’re talking about.", I said.

"No, no. Audrey I knew you are the right person. I'm your Alpha. Your mother's Alpha, and yours too.", he said and grin.” You see, you and your Auntie are the only subordinated I have under the White Fang. Remember now?” He laughed.

My mother's Alpha? The one who killed my mother? The reason why my father kept blaming himself? The one who made my father lose himself. The person who deprived me of my life. The person who removed my rights to ever have the love of family?

"You!", I growled and I tried to stood up, but I can't my foot doesn't cooperate. My knees felt weak and the drug they used to capture me still lingers. I want to punch him. I want to stab him. I want to put an end of his life with my bare hands. I want him to suffer for all the loss I ever have.

"Oh. Look at you. You’re helpless. But, if you will follow my instructions, I will accept you to join my pack again." he said and took a sip on his coffee ."Don't worry it’s so simple. And I'll take care of you just like what I did to your Mom."

No way! I won't obey any of his orders. "Kill me now! You won’t get nothing from me!" I said and clenched my hand to fist. I gathered all of my remaining strength to punch his face. As I swung my fist a hand grabbed my wrist and pulled it back damn!. I looked at the man who stopped me. He's the same man who commanded to get me from the abandoned library and put me here.

"I'm sorry miss, but you must pay respect to the Alpha.", he said and glared at my eyes. He let go and I sat down. I crossed my arms around my waist in silence.

"Thanks Mac, but I can handle the situation here." Daniel said.

"I'm sorry Alpha.", Mac replied and stood still behind me.

"So as I was saying, I need a favor from you Audrey. A very simple favor, then you’re free." he said and lift the cup of coffee and sniffed.

"What do you want?!", I said. I can't calm myself around the guy who killed my mother.

"Break the bond.", he said.

Silence.

"What?!", I gasped.

"Break the bond. Reject Troy and you’re very free to live your life or join my pack. Simple, right? All you have to do is break his precious heart and you will be with joined again with my new pack. The one I built for almost a decade. You are perfectly fit for a Luna.” He said lustfully.

Break the bond?
