Chapter 30
Time stopped. I was frozen by Nick's words. I patiently waited for him to tell me it was all a joke, that Audrey was fine and that she'll wake up soon.
I walked towards Audrey's body. But no, I totally wish he's pulling my leg right now. I prayed he was not serious. No. It's all just a joke right? Audrey is tough. She won't leave me, she promised me she won't!
"No, no, Audrey. Wake up!... , Don't leave me, sweetheart! I can't live without you.", I pleaded while holding her hands. The door opened. "What happened?!" Shane exclaimed. She's with Matthew and others. I couldn't answer. Tears were flowing endlessly from my eyes.
"The Luna is dead." Nick announced. Everyone gasped.
"No, s-she isn't!" I hissed.
No, It can't be. Audrey's just, just sleeping. "I tried to revive her, but her pulse suddenly stopped. Her heartbeat stopped. I don't know what I'm going to say, I haven't encountered cases like this. Never.", Nick added.
I held Audrey in my arms. Her cold body is cold as ice but nothing can compare to the numbness of my heart. I hugged her, and kissed her neck. She's here, she won't leave me. Not now that I finally get to feel her embrace again. I pushed her hair back at her ears and bit her neck. I just need to open her blood flow, she will be okay. She will be fine. I make sure that the bite will reach her pulse. I started crying because none of it seems to be working. She's not waking up. She's supposed to be breathing right now. Why is this not working?!
I growled and put her down. This can't be. The feeling is unbearable. My soul has been ripped apart. I stood up. This can't be true!
"Where are you going? Troy?!", Matthew asked.
. "None of your business." I answered.
I headed out into the wood and cursed loudly. I screamed out loud until my throat hurts, until my lungs give out.
I just lost my Mate, my precious Audrey. I felt weak, hopeless and angry. She was right in front of me, yet I couldn't attend to her needs right away. I was losing her, and I let her out of my grasp. I screamed once more and punched a nearby tree. My tears rolled down, my eyes couldn't stop crying. I punched the tree until I could see the bones in my knuckles. It hurt me obviously, yet the pain within my heart didn't go away.
It numbed my other senses, indeed, yet my heart still mourns the fall of its mate.
I held my head up and stared at the moon. "Is this what you want, Moon? Please, give me back my Mate. I can't live without her anymore, please. If you take her away, then I'm better off dead." I pleaded, but received no answer.
I screamed hopelessly, again and again. But my voice would only echo throughout the forest.
I need her. I just got her back. Don't take too soon. It will be the death of me.

Audrey Howey
Darkness. Again.
Everything I could see was pitch black. I couldn't feel anything. I sit alone in a dark cold room. I tried to stand, but nothing happened. It was like I had no control of my senses. I felt a tingling sensation on my neck, and it hurts. I tried to stand once again but I couldn't, my whole body started to hurt. I felt a damp cloth lying on my forehead and I gasped and opened my eyes. I saw everyone, except Troy. They surrounded me with shocked looks.
"Audrey? Y-you're awake!"? Shane gasped. She looked shocked. I tried to get up but Aunt Beth stopped me.
"Go get some rest. Your body is still weak."
"Where's Troy?", I asked. I can remember all the things he said while talking to Daniel. He doesn't care about me; he said he didn't care if I died.
"He's outside." Matthew said, "Should I call-"
"No, not now. I don't think he wants to see me. He-He doesn't care about me." I choked with tears on my eyes.
"What are you talking about?! He almost killed himself for you?!" Matthew exclaimed, both shocked and angry.
"What?!" I asked. No, that's the opposite. Why would he risk his own life for someone he said he didn't care about?
"He's out there, in the woods, screaming there's no tomorrow. He lost himself, he lost his sanity." He explained. "Because he just lost you".
"What happened?", I asked.
"You were dead a while ago.", he said. I'm dead? No, I can't be.
"Then you just woke up, now", he added. What is happening? But I need to see Troy right now. I want a proper explanation from him. An explanation for all the words he just said to me. It pierced through my heart. I tried to stand up once again.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Matthew asked.
"I'll go to Troy, I'll talk to him.", I answered. Somehow my body felt better. I felt my body lighter.
"You really are mates. Such a stubborn pair." Matthew groaned.
I ignored him. If I have to clear things up, it has to be from Troy. The answers should come from him and only him. He better have some good reason for all of this. I stood up and was horrified to death when I found out that I'm naked. I quickly grabbed for the blanket to at least cover me.
"Why am I naked?!", I asked and Matthew looked away and said "Ask the doctor."
I glared at the man wearing all white attire and about 5'6 tall. He looked at me in disbelief, he couldn't speak and I know he's as shocked as I am.
"Shane can you, uhm.. Grab some clothes for me to wear just in that cabinet?", I asked
. "Sure.", she said.
"Get yourself out of here!" I warned them and they all went out. Somehow I can smell the room, it smelt like, like Troy. I haven't noticed that before. I can also smell blood. Have I ever smelled blood before?
"Here." she said and handed me some shirts that belonged to Troy, when I slipped it in, it fitted like a dress to me. It covered my shoulders down to my thighs. I didn't bother to wear something under it. I went out of the room and rushed downwards.
"Hey, Audrey", Shane said. "What are you planning?" she asked and I just smiled at her. I"ve never felt this alive before.
. "Lady?!" Matthew said. He and the doctor looked shocked that I could run. Actually I think I can run for an hour without getting tired. I don't feel pain too. This feeling is incredible.
"I have to find Troy.", I said and walked to the forest barefooted.
My thighs became more flexible than before. I never knew I could run like this. I slowed down when I smelt Troy's scent in the woods. I tracked it. Trust me I didn't know I could do this. Everything looks like slow motion when I run. I can hear the tiniest insect in the forest. There is no silence. The sounds from the cricket irritates me most. I saw Troy kneeling in the forest facing the moon. He's like a fallen angel, ripped and betrayed. I can feel his sorrow. I smelt blood.
Blood! I gasped and slowly walked towards Troy.
"Troy?", I asked and he looked at me with disbelief.
"Troy?" I repeatedly called. His eyes shut open and quickly turn his head to my direction. His lonely eyes are gone and replaced with joy. He didn't move so I stepped closer. I kneeled before him as his eyes watched with shock. My eyes are constantly searching his. I don't know what is happening but my insides are craving for his touch. His intoxicating smell is like a drug to me, so addictive and hits. It was like a thread is pulling me toward the direction of Troy. There's something wrong with my teeth as if they want to bite. This strange feeling is something that cuntinuosly driving me crazy with him under the moon.
"Mine." I demanded. I was surprised with the words that came out of my mouth. Did I just claim Troy? I am so confused about what is happening. His blue orbs are telling me the same thing. We are both astonished.
