Chapter 37
I was brushing my hair and facing the mirror. I was wearing an oversized Garfield sweater and shorts. The night is cold but, if I wear pajamas I look like a covered potato. I placed my comb back and sat on the bed admiring the ring Troy had given me. I wonder when we will face the altar together? I giggled. I'm getting married at the age of eighteen. How is that? Am I too young for this? I mean eighteen seriously? 'Everything will be fine, you have me' an inner voice whispers to my ears I almost jump. This voice must be.. Sofia? Is that you? I said questioning my mind. I felt stupid waiting for the voice to answer but she did. 'It is me.' She said and giggled. But how? I mean you.. talk to me? I asked myself. 'Its possible. Were connected to each other. I'm here if you need me, always will.' She said and a faint smile drew on my lips. Thanks..
The door suddenly opened and Troy stood over. He closed the door beside him and he sat beside me. It's funny because he doesn't have anything to wear and my sweater fits him perfectly, blues clues. I giggled and glanced at his cute fitted pajamas, hello kitty. This makes me burst out of laughter.
"My clothes suit you perfectly. You should always wear some." I said and laughed.
"Shush.. I went here for you and I know it's worth it. I can wear anything for you sweetheart but, laughing seems to be a bit unfair." He said and looked away.
"Oww.. Look at you, you look like a cute dolly. I love you anyway." I said and laughed.
"Shut it up. Get ready and we're heading back to the mansion. Lady Candice told me about this human marriage. I don't know what's a ring for. You're going to be my Luna and were having a run for you. Madam Candice told me to involve all your friends so they will not find it strange, it will cover up events." He rested his head on my lap, "This is the most tiring day of my life.." He added and sighed heavily.
"You regret it?" I asked.
"No." He said and closed his eyes. “Am I a fool? You are mine now.”
"How can you do that? I mean, to have a large gathering? You planned it for a week or so?.."
"Just today. That makes my day tiring sweetheart." He said.
"But how?"
"I contacted them by their email and sent an invitation. Of course I add up some traps, sweets. Since all of your friends are girls this doesn't make the situation harder. I said their will be so many things they'll like and well picked by you." He told me while his eyes were closed.
"How did you contact them? You don't know them right?"
"Sweetheart, your Facebook is the key." He said sluggishly and kissed my thighs.
"How do you-- wait! You hacked my Facebook?" I growled.
"Kinda. But don't worry, I never change anything there. And besides, your password is pretty simple." He said and yawned.
"Who are you? A detective?" I said.
"No. Can we just sleep? I used up too much energy, explaining is draining it." He said and I nod.
I arranged the bed and he shifted in position. He hugged my pillow shrugging it. I unfolded the blankets and covered him up. I wasn't that tired after all. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me to hug.
"Troy, I'll just talk to Auntie okay? I'm not tired. I'll go to bed once I feel that I need to. Just sleep and I'll cook you breakfast tomorrow, okay?" I said gently, like a mother telling his son in a better way. He nodded and let go of me, he buried his face on the pillow and I headed out.
I saw Shane with Matthew talking to each other on the table. Auntie Beth was stirring up some juice and putting it to the table.
"Audrey, how's Troy?" Shane asks.
"He's past asleep already." I said and sat opposed to her.
Auntie gave me a glass and wink. I drank up until the last drop savoured my throat. I sighed and looked at Shane.
"So... When's the wedding?" She asked.
I was shocked by her question. I shook my head and said nothing. I felt my phone vibrating and I pulled it off. It's a text from Grandma checking us out, I reply to her and put my phone back. I remain silent and eat up some chips that Shane offered me. I was getting tired. I had nothing to do here, so I shall go. I waved Shane a good bye and told Auntie to wake me up for breakfast because I will be joining her. She agreed and I made my way to my room and slipped through the covers and my mate's warm hands hugged me. I closed my eyes and hugged him back. I rested my head on his hard chest and his comfortable arms warmed me as I fell asleep.
My shoulders were tapped multiple times and it pushed me to open my eyes. I saw Auntie wearing an apron, bragging my shoulders. I remembered what I told her yesterday and I should wake up before Troy does. I groaned and tried to pin my head up but Troy's arms were clinging tightly to my waist. I looked at Aunt Beth and told her I'll follow later. She nodded and closed the door. I slowly pick up Troy's arms on me and quickly change it to my pillow. He shifted position and thankfully, I didn't wake him up. I reluctantly went to the bathroom and washed my face then changed clothes. I wore a navy blue tank top and jeans. I comb my hair and join Auntie to the kitchen.
She's preparing some pancakes and bacon. I help her out and hand her a plate. I set the kettle when someone knocks on the door."I'm on it." I said to Auntie. I removed my apron and arranged my messy hair. I opened the door and I saw a familiar face, Jackson.
"Hey," Jackson said.
"Uhm.. Hey," I replied.
Jackson is a friend. He was Shane's brother and often hung out with us, but I can only imagine him as a brother. He's a year older than me, since I entered school at an early age. We're not that close, we only meet when Shane's around... Why is he here?
"Sorry to bother you but, my sister wants to give this to you. She's kinda busy on something so she sent me to hand it to you." He said and gave me a paper bag.
"Oh thanks, you want to eat with us?" I asked.
"No it's embarrassing I- I just came to hand that to you. I need to--"
"No need to felt embarrassed, Jackson, come." I said and grabbed him in.
He's always a soft and genuine, shy type? perhaps. He was a genius as I heard he was on the top with his batch but, he's a soft one.
I led him to the high chair and continued my task. Auntie gave him a bright smile and he did the same. I gave pancakes and bacon and he thankfully nodded. I turned off the stove and made a coffee. As far as I know, Troy wants dark coffee so I stir it up and place it near the vacant seat. I took a glance on the clock and it's already seven and Troy isn't down here yet. He must be very tired. I sat beside Jackson and he blushed. He's adorable, like a cute girl, so feminine. I start asking questions about Shane's doing. He eagerly replied.
"So.. You're engaged?" He asked. I noticed a piece of pancake on his face,
"Yup, you have this." I said and showed it to him. He laughed and thanked me.
A growl sends chills on my spine and I slowly look. Troy's eyes turned dark as he snarled at Jackson who rounded his eyes and almost fell off his chair. I stood up and went to Troy, he kept snarling at Jackson. I kissed his cheeks and he turned his attention to me. I don't want fights in the morning.
"Who is he?" He growled.
"Shane's brother." I said.
"Hey pup!" Troy said and Jackson yanked. Jackson's face was hilarious. His body shaking in fear of Troy's wrath.
"Y-Yes s-sir?" Jackson said in a shaking voice.
"Go home." Gabriel snarled.
"Troy don't be so mean." I said and he gave me a bad look. I stood still and did not budge a little. He's making this a big deal.
"Y-Yes sir, thanks Audrey." Jackson said and went to the door, out. The foot filled with the deafening slam of the wooden door. Seconds,
"You don't have to do that." I snapped. He didn't reply and grabbed my waist.
We stared at each other for about a minute. He placed a gentle yet passionate kiss on my lips. I kissed him back and the two of us broke apart.
He sat beside me and I gave him his coffee. I ate up some pancakes and drank milk. Troys eyes locked on mine, every move, Auntie and I were chatting about the newest drama series she's following when Troy said,
"Were leaving on one." He said with a serious face.
