Chapter 23 Wolf Work Camp
Draco POV
I sit alone through the night. When everyone wakes, I hide. I need to be alone with my thoughts. I need to think. I need to prepare. I need the fears of my sister coursing through my veins. I need pain, and I want to feel her pain.
I go into my room to hide. I hear them walking into the house. They are laughing, talking, and enjoying life. I have nothing left to enjoy in this life. I am broken.
A soft knock on my door startles me. It is either Tia or Angela. I ignore it. Maybe she will go away. I do not have to have pity bestowed upon me. I need my anger. I know how I feel, and I want to feel every bit of it.
I close my eyes and hide in my mind for a while longer. Then a hard knock comes on the door. This knock barges into my room. " It is time, Draco. Jeb is here. Let's go get the bastard!" Aspen says. I nod my head. Aspen takes a double-take at me and then leaves.
I get up out of the bed. I go to the dresser. I pick up Deanne's picture off of the dresser. "I am going to get him, sister. This is for you," I say to her picture. I reach into the top drawer and pull out a bracelet. It is blue with a small stone. I slip it onto my wrist.
I love you, brother. I remember her whisper to me as she slipped it on me when I was only a young vampire. Before we knew how special she was or Angela. I had no idea how much this ugly bracelet would mean to me later in life. It will remind me of her always. Let's get him, sister.
I go down the stairs. Jeb and his vampires are waiting. I look around and all these people risking their lives to stop the actions and to avenge Deanne; it means more to me than they will ever know.
Angela comes to me. She hugs me. She looks at my wrist. "The bracelet," she says. She smiles.
"We have a plan, Draco, I assume," Jeb says.
I start walking toward the door. They are waiting for me to take the lead. "Yeah, we are going to kill them all and save some women from death. Let's do it," I say.
"Sounds like a party. I brought plenty of guns and extra special bullets just for a wolf. Not you, Aspen, we like you," Jeb says.
Aspen breathes a sigh of relief. "Glad I am on your side," Aspen says.
We walk out into the night air. Angela and Tia look ready. Tia follows behind me. She stays on my heels. "I am with you, Draco," Tia says.
"Yes, you are, love," I say to her.
Angela and Aspen get in a car with Tia and me. Jeb and his vampires load up in several vans. We lead the way. Aspen knows a place we can safely park the vans and my car to keep it out of the wolf's view but close enough to get to quickly.
Angela looks nervous as I drive. She stays close to Aspen. "Angela, all you and Tia need to worry about is taking the collars off and freeing as many as you can. Aspen, the vampires, and I will do everything else. Do not do anything stupid. For once in your life, listen to me," I say to her.
"If I run into Alpha, I cannot make any promises," Angela says.
"Yeah, and how did that work out for you before?" I ask her.
"It is different this time, and I have this," Angela says. She pulls a small handgun out of her jacket.
"What the hell is that?" I ask her.
"A gift from Jeb. It kills a wolf slowly and painfully. I cannot wait to try it out," Angela says.
Aspen moves over from her. "Keep that thing away from me, sweetie," Aspen says nervously.
Hell, I do not blame him. One accidental misfire and bye-bye, Aspen. "Put that away, please," Aspen says.
Aspen is nervous. Angela is smiling and at ease. She is going after Alpha. I know her, and I know that is what she is planning. I look over at Tia. She is planning to help her. These two have a plan of their own to carry out.
We pull up to the grassy spot to park. Aspen directs us to a treeline. I pull my car into the area Aspen tells me to park at. Jeb and his vampires follow and park with us. Aspen gets out of the car and goes straight to Jeb. He lays it out for them quickly so that they know precisely where and when to start attacking.
The plan is that Jeb and his vampires take out the wolves guarding the cabins first. Angela and Tia can release the women from their collars, Aspen and I will take out the guards that are farther away from the cabins, and then we go after Alpha and whoever is at his house for the night.
"Ready?" I ask Angela.
"Yep, I am ready," she says.
"Try to stick to the plan," I say to her.
"I plan on releasing the women from their collars, and then I am going after to him. Do not try to stop me, Draco. I might shot you with this thing," Angela says.
"When this is over, I want that gun. I mean it, Angela, I want that damn gun," I say to her as she jumps out of the car.
I am going to kick Jeb's ass for giving that damn thing to her. Angela and Tia head into the woods behind the vampires. "Do you think she will be okay?" I ask Aspen.
"Yeah, I showed her around the property when she was here. She can hide if she gets in trouble," Aspen says.
"Well, don't sneak up on her; she might shoot your ass," I say to him. Aspen looks worried as we start making our way into the woods.
We walk quickly and as quietly as possible to the first guard building. Aspen kicks the door in, and I go in behind him. There are no guards. "This is odd; they should be here unless there is an auction here tonight, then they will be at the cabins on the backside of the property," Aspen says.
"There were no auctions listed for tonight," I say.
"Fuck! We have to get to the cabins. They know we were coming," Aspen says.
Aspen and I run for the cabins. I run at vampire speed, and Aspen takes his wolf form. I hear shots ringing out as we get closer. I get to the cabins before Aspen. Jeb and his vampires are killing wolves. There is a lot of them.
I do not see Angela or Tia. Aspen finally reaches the cabins. I run upon the cabin porch to check on Tia and Angela. I kick in the door, and several of the women start screaming. "He is with us," Angela screams out.
Angela and Tia are working as fast as they can. "We need to work fast, and they knew we were coming," I scream.
"We already know that," Angela screams back at me.
"Where is Alpha?" I ask her.
"He is hiding," Angela says.
She is lying. I can tell. She knows exactly where he is, and she wants him for herself. "Draco! We need you!" Jeb screams at me.
I run out of the cabin and go to help Jeb and the vampires. It is a blood bath. Several of Jeb's vampires are killed, but all of the wolves lay dead when it is over. The women stand with us. All of them are free now.
"Take them and get them out of here," I say to Jeb.
"Where are Angela and Tia?" I ask Jeb.
"You know the answer," he says. He points toward the Alpha's cabin. They went after him. He was too much of a coward even to come out and fight us. He is hiding, but not for long. Some Alpha you are, bastard! Aspen runs ahead of me in his wolf form, trying to get to Angela before Alpha hurts her. I am on his heels. I am not sure if I should be worried about Angela or afraid she will kill him before I get there.
