"How far have these ants advanced in half an hour?" Team Leader Fan asked.

"Not far. I've been observing them. They advance a certain distance and then stop," the captain replied.

"Go ahead," Mayor Xu said.

"It's like this, we just discovered a large number of giant ants outside the city, approaching the resettlement area," Team Leader Fan said.

"Giant ants? How many?" Mayor Xu asked.

"They cover the mountains and plains, an endless expanse!" Team Leader Fan replied.

Silence fell on the other end of the phone.

Half a minute later…

"I'll be right over!" Mayor Xu said.

Mayor Xu was at the Baisha Resettlement Area in Jiangbei, facing the Changjing Resettlement Area across the river.

A cross-river bridge, the Changjing Bridge, spanned the river between the two resettlement areas.

It was about a half-hour drive for Mayor Xu to get here from the Baisha Resettlement Area.

An hour later, Mayor Xu stood on the city wall on the south side of the Changjing Resettlement Area.

During this hour, the ants had not moved forward.

"They haven't moved at all?" Mayor Xu asked.

"That's right! They've been staying there for over an hour," the captain reported.

Mayor Xu frowned.

He didn't know what these ants were up to or whether they would attack the resettlement area.

"Do you have any biology experts here?" Mayor Xu asked.

"The medical team should have some!" Team Leader Fan replied.

"Go find a few and bring them over," Mayor Xu instructed.

"Okay! I'll go right away!" Team Leader Fan turned and left.

Another half hour passed.

Team Leader Fan returned to the city wall with three people.

"Mayor Xu, I've brought the people," Team Leader Fan said.

"Doctors, don't be nervous. I've called you here today because I have something I'd like to hear your opinions on. Take a look first," Mayor Xu said politely, handing the binoculars to one of the doctors.

The doctor took the binoculars and looked in the direction Mayor Xu pointed.

"Hiss~"

The scene before his eyes startled him.

The doctors next to him took the binoculars and looked one by one.

The expressions on their faces showed that the situation was not optimistic.

"Doctors, my question is, are these ants dangerous?" Mayor Xu asked.

"This…" The doctors looked at each other, unsure how to answer.

"Don't be nervous, just say what you think," Mayor Xu encouraged, but it was clear he was anxious.
