"Ordinary bodhisattvas would normally choose minor great ambitions. Those further along in wisdom and enlightenment would challenge major great ambitions. The most famous example is the Amitabha Buddha, who made forty-eight major ambitions. He was undoubtedly the strongest person in the ancient Buddhist sect."
