Chapter 15
Darwin immediately approached after seeing Velove who suddenly fell leaning against Nathan, then became unconscious. Taking over his wife, he then took the initiative to carry Velove's body to be immediately taken to a car parked right in front of the building's lobby.
Together with the driver, Darwin decided to rush his wife to the nearest hospital. Instead of being taken home, which later turned out to be a problem, he preferred to check Velove's condition with an expert. I'm just afraid that something dangerous or serious will happen to his wife.
As soon as he arrived at the hospital, assisted by medical personnel, Velove was immediately taken to the emergency room. While the beautiful woman was examined by an expert, Darwin himself seemed to be waiting quietly right in front of the room.
Maybe 30 minutes Darwin sat in the waiting chair. It wasn't long before one of the female doctors who might be treating Velove in there came out, then sounded reprimanded.
"Are you relatives of Mrs. Velove Vexia Fernando?"
Darwin quickly stood up. Step forward to then approach.
"Yes, doc. I am her husband. So, how is my wife doing?"
The doctor smiled. From his calm and calm face, Darwin believed that nothing serious had happened to his wife.
"After I checked, it can be concluded that Mrs. Velove needs more rest or bed rest for a few days to recover her condition. When she was checked earlier, her blood pressure was indeed a little low. There were indications of anemia and also a recurrence of stomach ulcers. This could be triggered by uncontrolled stress. good management."
Darwin was aghast. He didn't expect Velove to get sick like that either. In fact, since yesterday, he saw that his wife and rival looked strong and didn't even hesitate to invite him to fight. Who would have thought, behind the strong figure that Velove showed, it turned out that his wife's condition was also quite worrying.
"Stress can trigger anemia and stomach ulcers too?"
Doctor nodded. Seeing the astonished look that Darwin showed made the young doctor provide more explanation so that Darwin would not be as confused as he looked now.
"So, stress can indeed be a cause of heartburn or recurrence because stress can increase stomach acid production. In addition, another reason why stress causes stomach ulcers is because stress can reduce levels of the hormone prostaglandin which has the function of helping strengthen the barrier that protects the stomach lining from stomach ulcers. Stomach acid."
Darwin just nodded. If I'm being honest, actually he didn't really understand what the doctor had just explained. In understanding, the pain that Velove is experiencing right now can be ascertained because the woman is experiencing stress. And do not rule out, he is one of the triggers of stress.
"But my wife is fine, right? I mean, her illness isn't life threatening?" asked Darwin to make sure. Really worried too. I'm just afraid that if Velove does anything, he will be blamed later.
"Her condition will be fine as long as Mrs. Velove wants to focus on complete rest first. That's why, I suggest that in order for the recovery process to be optimal, it's better for Mrs. Velove to stay in the hospital for about one to two days. That way, the nurses can focus on monitoring and also provide maximum treatment.
Darwin nodded in understanding. He thought, instead of why, just let Velove stay in the hospital for a few days so that his condition would return to normal as before.
"Then just do your best, doc. I entrust everything to the doctor."
After conversing with the doctor, Darwin was again asked to wait a while. As soon as the VIP inpatient room ordered was ready to be occupied, Velove was immediately taken to move so he could continue his rest.
Solving administrative issues, Darwin decided to inform his parents and in-laws that Velove was being treated at the hospital. Instead of knowing from other people, Darwin thought it would be better for him to report this news himself. I'm afraid that later I will be accused of not being able to take care of my wife. In fact, that's the reality.
As soon as he entered the treatment room, Darwin could see Velove who was slowly starting to regain consciousness. After the accompanying doctor had finished his final examination and left the room, Darwin slowly approached to make sure of his wife's condition.
"Why did you take me to the hospital at all?"
Instead of getting a warm greeting or pleasantries, that was the first question Darwin heard when he approached the position where Velove was lying.
"Why are you taken to the hospital?"
"I'm fine. There's no need to be taken to the hospital at all." While lying down, Velove protested. His face was visibly sullen. Maybe he felt annoyed because he really didn't like it when he ended up being treated in a hospital like now.
While Darwin just smiled lightly. Ignoring Velove's protest, he replied, "How about that? The proof is that the doctor ordered you to bed rest for a few days in the hospital so that your condition will stabilize again."
"Did the doctor say that?"
Darwin nodded. The man confirmed Velove's question.
"The doctor said, maybe you are stressed because you have too many thoughts. That's why you can get stomach ulcers and anemia like now."
Velove immediately smiled cynically. In her heart she thought, how could she not be stressed if from the very beginning of the marriage her husband had misbehaved. It's still fortunate that only anemia or ulcers relapse. He was afraid that because he couldn't stand Darwin's behavior, he would go crazy.
"You should realize, I'm sick like this because of whom."
"Because of whom?" replied Darwin immediately.
"Yes, it's because of you. You ask everything. You don't know what you are? Your behavior has been so impudent to me," Velove replied carefree. His answer was so spicy that it made Darwin chuckle immediately. Velove, who at the beginning of his marriage he thought was a weak woman like a pet cat, turns out to be like the incarnation of a lion ready to pounce on its prey at any time.
"So you went to the hospital because of me?"
"Yes because who else?"
Darwin took a deep breath. Lazy to argue, the man just agreed to what his wife said. If you think about it, it seems that he did have a hand in causing Velove to be in the hospital like now.
"Okay, I was wrong. I'm sorry. If that's the case, you can just rest a lot first. If you need anything, you can call me."

Right now, in the Velove room, there are Deasy and also Nathan. Not only them, Samuel and Randy were also seen coming. All of them this afternoon deliberately visited Velove, and even brought some gifts as a form of concern for what happened to this beautiful woman.
However, there was one moment that made Darwin a little hot. He, who was sitting on the sofa, could see firsthand how his wife got more attention than Nathan, who was sitting right beside Velove's bed with Deasy at that time.
"This is your favorite fruit. Let's eat it," Nathan said to Velove. The man also handed over a fork to make it easier for Velove to eat the fruit he had just peeled. "Deasy and I deliberately brought you various kinds of fruit. Because usually, when you're sick you like to eat rice, right?"
Deasy who sat next to Nathan nodded. He confirmed what his colleague said.
"Just so you know, because you went to the hospital, I don't know how many times Nathan called me just to make sure what time he was going to visit you at the hospital. Anyway, it's really annoying. It's like a child who can't wait to meet you."
Velvet chuckled. While leaning on the back of the bed, the woman ate the fruit that Nathan had worked hard to peel so that he could eat it easily.
"Thank you guys for coming. Even though, there's no need to bother. I'm fine, really."
"How come you fainted, Ve? You've never had feelings like this," Deasy asked curiously. During his friendship, even if he was sick, he had never seen Velove until he was unconscious like now. So, he was curious, what really happened to his best friend.
"Ah, it's just stomach ulcers and a little anemia. That's why I get really dizzy and then lose consciousness."
"Your ulcer relapsed again?" Nathan looked aghast. The man's face was so worried.
"Yes," nodded Velove. "I guess due to lack of rest and----"
"Too much on your mind? Stress?" guessed Nathan as if he knew what happened to his ex-girlfriend. "You really can't eat a little late or stress a little, right?"
"Why is Velove really stressed?" Deasy spoke again. He also just found out that the ulcer that Velove is suffering from can recur because of too many thoughts or stress over something. "Ah, but I think I know why you're stressed," said the woman then.
"So what?" Compact Velove and Nathan asked simultaneously.
"I'm sure you're stressed because you think about crocodiles and your pet snake that can't escape, right?"
Nathan was stunned. Among the three, it seemed he was the only one who didn't understand what Deasy meant.
"Does Velove keep crocodiles and rice field snakes?"
Dessy nodded.
"Don't you know? That crocodile almost died at first. Because Velove was kind, he was given food. He was given luxurious facilities. Uh, the crocodile didn't even know himself. If I were Velove, I'd just cut it on skewers, it's a crocodile. I don't know thank you for that," he said, glancing briefly at Darwin. It's nice to know that the man heard clearly the sarcasm he was throwing.
"Seriously? Velove takes care of reptiles? How come I just found out?"
Velvet laughed. Seeing Nathan's doubtful and questioning expression made him couldn't help but laugh.
"No. I don't keep animals. It's just Deasy who's just an asshole."
"Gosh. I thought it was."
Lazy to constantly hear teasing and at the same time see the intimate moments that Nathan showed, Darwin decided to invite Samuel and Randy to go to the hospital cafeteria. There, the two of them sat ordering drinks while chatting.
"Eh, that's the same guy who visited Velove who met at the restaurant, right?" remember Randy. He was sure of what he saw the other day and just now.
Darwin nodded. For this one, Randy is not wrong to see.
"Yes, it's the same guy. And for your information, that guy's name is Nathan. And it's true, you guessed the other day. He's not just a colleague."
"You mean?"
"Yes, why are you close? Because that guy is originally Velove's ex-boyfriend. You could say Velove broke up with him because he had to marry me."
"Wow, crazy!" Randy exclaimed. Because of his enthusiasm, the man moved his chair forward so he could be closer to the position where Darwin was sitting. "You know about this from where?"
"Velove himself told the story. He said, if only his father had not arranged for us both, maybe he would have married Nathan now."
"In fact, if you look at it, Nathan's husband, Velove, is a match. Handsome and more dignified in appearance," said Randy innocently. Deliberately comparing the cousin to the man he had previously seen.
"So you don't think I'm handsome?" Darwin glared disapprovingly. Randy just casually said all sorts of things.
"When it comes to looks, you are no less handsome, Win," admitted Samuel. He who had been listening, finally spoke too. "It's just, eyes can't lie. If you ask who is your match, that guy is more suitable than you, who is Velove's husband. From body gestures, from the way he looks, even the way he treats you, it seems that he truly loves Velove."
"In fact, we both saw how he cared so much that he brought all kinds of socks. It's so familiar with the habits that Velove often does," continued Randy. The man also complemented what Samuel had previously said.
Darwin just kept silent with a long sigh. For God's sake, he was the laziest when he was with his two cousins, always the butt of ridicule.
"Just let it be. It's his right to want attention or something."
"Aren't you jealous?" asked Randy straight to the point.
"Jealous? Am I jealous of Velove?" asked Darwin, pointing to himself. "Really, Ran. Don't joke."
"I'm not kidding. Even if you don't love each other, don't you feel uncomfortable with your wife being noticed by her ex? Later, when other people see it, there will be questions."
Darwin fell silent. Pay close attention and try to understand what Randy is saying. It's not good actually if people out there can read the estrangement that occurred in the marriage between him and Velove.
This was also what he kept thinking when he returned to the room. As soon as he arrived, he found his father and also his in-laws who seemed to have deliberately come to visit and at the same time confirm Velove's current condition.
"Pa," said Darwin as he entered the room. Taking light steps, the man approached the two men who were now sitting and standing not far from Velove.
"Win, how are you?" Darius replied then hugged his son-in-law briefly.
"Okay, Pa. Papa has been here long?"
"No, we both just arrived," said Gerald, who was standing on the left side of Velove. "Where are you from?"
"Ah, I took Samuel and Randy to the front. They also visited Velove before."
Gerald nodded. Meanwhile Darius shifted his focus back to the princess who was leaning back in a slightly weak and pale condition. He felt very worried. All day until it's hard to focus on work because the thought of Velove suddenly going to the hospital.
"Why are you sick? What did the doctor say?"
"Velove is okay, Pa," Velove said with a smile. Grabbing her father's wrist, the woman tried to calm him down. I'm also afraid that his father will think about it and he will drop too. "Velove is just tired. It's just Darwin who is too worried that he's taken to the hospital all the time. In fact, resting at home is just the same."
"That means your husband loves and cares, son. That's why he got worried and took you to the hospital."
Velvet just nodded. It's impossible for him to tell you that the reason for going to the hospital was because of stress thinking about the behavior of his father's favorite son-in-law.
While Velove was talking with his father, a nurse brought a special dinner for Velove to eat. Darwin who was the closest position chose to accept the tray of food and then put it on the table in front of the bed.
"You want to eat?" bargained Darwin. Besides, it was time for his wife's dinner too.
Velvet shook his head. He really has no appetite. After all, he had already eaten a bowl of fruit that Nathan had previously given him.
"I'm not hungry."
"But you have to eat," Darius insisted. He knew very well that his daughter was sometimes very difficult when told to eat. "Later, what if your ulcer recurs again?"
"But Velove isn't hungry, Pa."
"I'll feed it," Darwin offered later. Then without waiting for Velove's approval, he approached, spooned the porridge in the bowl he was holding to then thrust it into his wife's mouth. "You don't need much, the important thing is your stomach isn't empty."
Velove was silent for a moment. Of course, it was awkward and strange to accept the sweet-natured treatment that Darwin showed.
However, because his father kept pushing him and he really had to be nice in front of many people, in the end Velove agreed to accept the bribe Darwin gave him. Trying to enjoy all the sweet treatment of the husband as if they both often do this.
Meanwhile, the father and mother-in-law looked happy. Happy and proud to see the moment between him and Darwin who were so intimate with each other.
