Chapter 17

Just as dinner time arrived, Darwin decided to go down to the first floor. Dragging his feet lazily, the man walked slowly towards the dining room.

Just as he sat down on the chair, Darwin could see how Velove, who was already there, had an expression like a confused person. I don't know what actually happened. What is certain is that Darwin believes that his wife is clearly looking for something.

"What's wrong with you? I've been looking at you like a confused person," Darwin asked while spooning rice in front of him.

Meanwhile, Velove, who was checking the draw partitions on the kitchen set one by one, looked around briefly. Until a few seconds later, the woman chose to step forward to approach the dining table to speak with Darwin.

"You saw my sushi box, right?"

Darwin could see that there was a clear look of despair on Velove's face. Maybe his wife was tired or tired of looking for something that until this moment has not been found.

"Sushi box?"

"Yes," Velove nodded with a serious expression. "This afternoon Nathan brought me sushi but I haven't had time to eat it yet. Now, I want to eat the sushi so it doesn't go to waste. Besides, I don't want to eat anything else either."

Darwin then nods in understanding. In the end he knew what his wife had been looking for. As it turned out, in the case of the sushi gift from his ex-lover, Velove had a headache himself looking for it. This made Darwin lazy to hear it.

"I already gave the sushi to the security guard outside," Darwin replied casually and innocently. In fact, he himself heard from Deasy this afternoon that his wife really likes Japanese food, especially sushi. Moreover, the food was brought directly by Nathan.

"You gave it to security? How come you didn't talk to me first? That's my food, Win," Velove sneered looking disappointed.

In fact, after taking a bath earlier, he was already excited at the thought of having dinner with his favorite sushi menu. However, the reality did not meet expectations. Darwin has blatantly abandoned his plan.

"Who said it was crocodile food, Ve? Besides, it's still good for me to give it to security instead of throwing it in the trash."

"Me? Sneaky? Sneaky what do you mean?" asked Velove while pointing at himself. Which is why it is also called that.

Darwin then chuckled loudly. Maybe Velove is not aware of his own actions. Because he was too busy taking care of other people, his wife did not reflect on herself for the mistakes she had made.

"Just imagine, I have to obey your orders to take care of myself, protect the good name of the family, and even have to be careful so that other people don't get suspicious of our marriage. Eh, you yourself are still in touch with Nathan, who is actually an ex-boyfriend." You are."

Velove immediately glared in disapproval when he heard the protesting chatter that Darwin had just said. Not everything that the man accused, actually happened.

"How can you not meet, he is my work partner in the office, Win. After all, we are in a professional relationship, not dating or making out like what you and Vicky have been doing all this time," explained Velove at length. Staring at Darwin, the woman's eyes narrowed sharply afterward "Have you ever seen me playing around at Nathan's apartment? Or staying with him in a hotel alone? Darwin sighed lazily. When it comes to twisting facts, it seems that Velove is really good at it. The proof, even he is now so cornered.

"Oh, come on, Velove. I did that before we made the agreement. Now? I tried to make it live as requested. However, you're the one who's inconsistent. The proof is, you still accept Nathan's gifts without my permission. That's not fair, Ve! You are clearly cheating."

This time Velove laughed out loud. If you look around, her husband looks annoyed himself with what he has done. Though, he is not exaggerating here.

"Don't be afraid. I already bought replacement sushi. Please eat the sushi that your beloved husband gave you. If necessary, I'll feed it all so that you are satisfied," he snapped while holding out the sushi box he was holding to Velove.

After several days of adequate rest, in the end today Velove decided to go back to work. He had been sitting in the dining room all morning. Eating breakfast, with Darwin in front of him.

No meaningful conversation. While Velove enjoyed toast filled with chocolate jam, Darwin himself looked calm enjoying oatmeal mixed with bananas in his bowl.

As soon as they finished eating breakfast, the two of them quickly got up, then got ready to leave.

"From now on, you just go to work with me. You don't need to take each other's cars anymore like before," Darwin said as he stepped towards the car.

After all, from the start Velove wanted to have a relationship like a husband and wife in general. Darwin thought, if you want it like that, why not totality as well? After all, the goal is also one. Ignoring several pairs of eyes staring in wonder, while crossing the lobby, Velove and Darwin were surprised by the sudden presence of Darius. For some reason or what business, this middle-aged man was seen visiting the Khiel Group early in the morning and was currently engaged in conversation with Nathan in the guest lounge.

"Papa," said Darwin and Velove simultaneously when they deliberately approached Darius.

"Finally you have come. Papa has been waiting here for a long time," replied the middle-aged man. Then brought his hand, waved as a code asking the child and son-in-law to immediately sit in front of him. "I have something I want to share with you two."

Velove gave her a questioning look. Of course he was surprised why his father had bothered to stop so early just because he wanted to say something. Usually, if there is something urgent, Darius will contact you via telephone first.

"Actually, what's wrong, Pa? It's so high that everyone stops by?"

Darius smiled. Seeing the princess who was even worried, he hastily gave a response before Velove had any thoughts.

"Previously, Papa intended to visit you at home. But, after thinking about it, if we visit the house, we will be the difference on the way. That's why, Papa chose to just wait for you here."

Velove breathed a sigh of relief. In fact, he was already thinking all over the place. I'm just afraid that there is something emergency or something very important that his father comes to the office.

"Velove thought there was big news that Papa wanted to convey. It turned out that he just wanted to visit Velove."

This time Darius chuckled amusedly, then after that he replied again, "Actually, there is other news that papa needs to convey to you and Darwin."

"What news is that, Papa?" Darwin asked curiously when he heard his name suddenly called.

Darius looked at the daughter and son-in-law in turn. After that, he started explaining other reasons why he bothered to come to the Khiel Group this morning.

"Yesterday, Papa received an invitation from Leighton in Malaysia. They offered to work together to run a white tin, oil and coal business. Before the agreement was made, they invited us to visit first. At the same time see directly the mine site that will be though."

Darwin seemed so interested in what Darius had just explained. As a businessman who has been pursuing business in the mining sector, he would love to be invited to meet miners, especially on a large scale like Leighton, who is well known for his work.

"You don't need to worry. Your father-in-law will help handle the work at the Khiel Group while you are on a business trip to Malaysia."

So after the decision was made, two days later Velove and Darwin actually joined Darius to go to Malaysia. Nathan was also invited on this business trip because his expertise was really needed.

Arriving at the destination country, they were all immediately entertained by Leighton's party. As soon as they left the airport, all of them were immediately taken to the hotel to rest.

"You two can rest first. Tomorrow morning, we will all visit and meet the Leighton people in person. I hope that you will prepare your best performance so that you can perform optimally in front of them."

Once separated, each chose to immediately go to the room. The awkwardness returned because for the first time Velove and Darwin were placed in the same room. At home they sleep separately. And now? Have to share a room or even share a bed together.

"Are we serious together?" Darwin asked, looking doubtful. He was still standing by the couch. While Velove was sitting on the side of the bed.

"Do you think it's possible for us to sleep in separate rooms? Are you going to kill yourself or something? Papa's definitely here."

Darwin took a deep breath. It's not possible if they have to sleep separately as usual. What is there, will even raise suspicion.

"Then where do I sleep?" asked Darwin innocently. Of course this made Velove couldn't help but laugh.

"It's up to you where you want to sleep. You can sleep on the sofa. You can on the floor. You can also be on the bed with me," he replied mockingly. "After all, husband and wife are supposed to sleep in the same bed, right? If you don't agree, I can secretly sleep in Nathan's room, really."

Darwin let out a long sigh. He was lazy to have to share a room with the woman who incidentally was his legal wife.

"But, I don't think it's a problem sleeping in the same bed. After all, you're not to my taste. So, it's impossible for me to be tempted by you," said the man lightly.

Velvet clucked. Staring lazily, the woman answered casually.

"You don't need to brag. You don't know if you make a mistake. Anyway, just watch out, you dare touch me."

he grinned. Approaching Velove, the man whispered in a firm tone.

"In your dream, Velove! As long as I'm sane, it will never be possible."
