Chapter 26
"I have sent all the files that you asked for. At the same time, I also want information. Leighton gave the news this afternoon, most likely next week it will be their representative's turn to visit our office, sir."
In his room, Darwin seemed to be seriously listening to what his secretary was explaining. Even though he still feels occasional hangovers, he should be grateful because he can still finish all work deadlines on time.
That's why, when it was time to go home from work, Darwin finished his activities. He is the type of person who does not really like to linger in the office. Instead of working late into the night, he prefers to bring the rest of the work to be done at home.
"In that case, give me the next update when it is certain that they will visit Indonesia so that we can welcome them to the fullest."
"Okay, sir. I will inform you soon."
"If you don't have anything else to say, you can go back to your room. Anyway, I'm getting ready to go home."
Only about ten minutes later, Darwin grabbed his coat and briefcase that he put on the sofa, then stepped out of the room. When he was about to close the door, from a distance he accidentally saw Nathan who was in front of the Velove room, pulling his wife to enter the room immediately.
I do not know why the curiosity arises. Making Darwin finally step slowly. In fact, exactly like people who sneak around. Once in front of his wife's room, he stopped and again eavesdropped on what his wife and ex-girlfriend were talking about.
"I know that you are indeed betrothed. However, one thing I just found out from Deasy is that your marriage to Darwin will only last for six months. And when that time is up, will you come back with me?"
"Gosh, Nathan. I can't just go around ----"
"Calm Down," Nathan interrupted immediately. "Don't worry. Right now you don't need to do anything. Yes, even though right now I can actually take you away from Darwin, but I'm not so petty as to ruin your household. I don't mind being told to wait six months, ten months, one year , or even a decade. The important thing is, when the time comes, you come back with me."
"Why do you have to wait for me? You yourself deserve better than me."
"Because I only love you, Ve," Nathan said with certainty. "I know, you're also not happy being married to Darwin, right? That's why, when your marriage is over, you want to come back with me."
Darwin clenched his fists tightly. His ears suddenly felt hot hearing what Nathan had just said to Velove. That's why, when it was heard that his wife wanted to shout, he chose to enter, then called out on purpose.
"Nathan, I----"
"Velove."
The two people in the room immediately turned around. Both were surprised when they saw Darwin's figure standing in the doorway, giving a look that was very difficult to decipher.
"Darwin... Y-you ---"
"It's time to go home," Darwin cut in on purpose. The man didn't let Velove finish his sentence first. "Come on, get your bag. We're going home now."
Velvet nodded obediently. Glancing briefly at Nathan, the woman then got up and then followed her husband's steps to go to the lobby.
All the way home, Darwin was deliberately silent. Not a single word left the man's lips. Even when he got home, finished taking a shower, had dinner, and it was time to move the gift box from his room to his wife's room, the man was still silent.
Usually, Darwin always protested when he saw himself alone with Nathan. Whether said to be deceitful, unfair, or so on. But, today the man looked like he didn't care.
Velove certainly felt bad. From the start, she had thought that maybe her husband heard what she and Nathan were discussing when they were about to go home earlier. Yes, even though at the moment she doesn't have any feelings for her husband, she still thinks of herself.
"I've moved your gift box. Later, just open everything yourself," Darwin said when he left Velove's room.
However, when the man was about to step back into his room, Velove immediately blocked him. According to him, what is happening to him and Darwin at this time must be clarified.
"Win, wait a minute," Velove called immediately.
Darwin turned around again. Throwing a questioning glance, the man replied. "Especially?"
"Actually there's nothing. It's just, I feel you're just weird."
"Weird how?" Darwin replied, looking back.
"Usually, if you see me with Nathan, you will definitely protest. It's been quiet since earlier."
"I'm tired of repeating the same words, Ve. In fact, you've often heard me protest, right? But, just do it," said the man without hesitation. Velove even gasped to hear it. And again, her husband spoke in a cold tone. "You're the one who forbids me from ever meeting or having contact with Vicky. But ----"
"Me and Nathan didn't do anything, Win," Velove chuckled, cutting off Darwin's sentence.
"Yes," nodded Darwin. "You guys really don't do anything. Just now we were just discussing plans to be together after separating from me, right?"
"Win!"
"Ve, listen first," Darwin pleaded at that time. "We really don't love each other and neither of us expect this marriage. In fact, I also don't care if you have anything to do with anyone. That's your right and privacy. It's just that I don't like people who can't keep their commitments themselves. You asked me to behave myself for the next six months, but you broke your words."
Velvet fell silent. It was suspected that her husband had overheard everything she and Nathan had talked about at the office before leaving earlier. After all, Darwin had to be annoyed because the man had several times caught Nathan paying more attention to him.
"So, what do you want?" asked Velove afterwards. He was also confused as to how to respond.
However, not the answer Velove got. Instead, he heard Darwin chuckle for a while, until before long the man finally answered, "You asked me what I wanted?" said the man while raising an eyebrow. "I think even without an answer you know what I want."
Darwin then walked to his room. However, before actually closing the door, the man once again asked Velove to speak.
"And one thing you need to tell Nathan. You don't need to be afraid or worried. Six months is not a long time. When the time comes, I will personally hand over you to him."
Darwin then immediately closed the door to his room. Not in the least let Velove respond first to what he said.
Believing Darwin's shadow was gone, Velove returned to the room. Glancing at the giant box that Darwin had just moved, he thought about opening it immediately.
Pull the ribbon looped over the box. Slowly took out a brown Teddy Bear doll even the size of himself and then moved it onto the bed.
"Very good," Velove muttered. "But honey, the one who gave the person is cranky."

After yesterday's incident, Darwin seemed to have completely avoided Velove. The proof at breakfast, the man deliberately went down early.
When he saw his wife who had just arrived at the dining room, Darwin quickly drank his milk which was in the glass. Hastily got up, intending to go to work first.
"Win, wait," Velove called when he saw his husband who had stepped to take his briefcase. "I follow you."
After all, it was Darwin who had emphasized that from now on for the next six months, they had to go down and go home from work together. Why did Darwin want to go first this morning?
"Just you and the driver. Or bring your own car. This morning I have a meeting outside, so I don't go straight to the office," Darwin said firmly. From the look on his face, the man was reluctant to invite Velove to go to work together.
"I can come and wait for your meeting," replied Velove casually.
"If you come with me, then who will handle office affairs if someone needs it?"
"But then ----"
"Okay, I'll leave first. You and the driver are all alone. I'm really late."
Velove let out a long breath. It's useless to beg, Darwin doesn't seem the least bit interested today to take him.
Meanwhile, this morning Darwin actually attended a meeting at a convention hall. There, he even met Samuel who was also invited to attend the meeting.
"You yourself?" Darwin asked as he approached his cousin who had just finished chatting with other guests.
"Yes, today alone. Bimo has work that can't be left behind."
Darwin nodded repeatedly. Actually, it's not surprising to see Samuel coming alone to a meeting. His cousin did not always include Bimo when he was doing work or work outside the office.
When the time for the meeting started, both of them entered the room. Taking their respective seats, then paying attention to the speaker conveying the material and also the presentation.
Initially, everything went without problems. Darwin even focused his attention on listening to what the speaker was discussing in front of him.
However, during a 15 minute break, the man's cell phone rang. Initially, Darwin ignored the call because he felt unfamiliar with the number that appeared.
However, because he kept calling, Darwin was finally curious. When his cell phone rang again, he immediately accepted the call.
"Yes, hello."
"Is this Darwin Morales Khiel?"
"Yes, myself. Who is this with and for what purpose?"
"I am a police officer, I want to convey the news that Velove Vexia Fernando's had an accident, and she is currently being rushed to the hospital."
Darwin was aghast. He was of course shocked by what he just heard. After being told which hospital his wife was taken to, Darwin was immediately given permission to leave the meeting. Rush followed while continuing to hope that nothing happened to his wife.
