Chapter 58

"This is the second time a man has come to see me and asked me to work together. In essence, he offered to work together to separate you from Velove."

Those words kept ringing in Darwin's head. After Vicky left the Khiel Group building, from morning until he was about to leave, Darwin became restless. Since earlier, he kept thinking and guessing who the man who had met and invited his ex-girlfriend to work with.

At first, Darwin wanted to ignore. But, this information kept bothering him until he finally came to mind.

"Who do you think this person is? Why does he have a goal to separate me from Velove?"

Darwin just kept focusing on thinking while muttering to himself. Until not long ago, from the door of the room suddenly appeared Gerald.

The father of Darwin Morales Khiel immediately entered without knocking first. Take big steps. Approach Darwin. As soon as he was right in front of his son, unexpectedly the man of Chinese descent immediately brought his hands together, aimed at the collars of the shirts Darwin was wearing, then pulled them hard.

Gerald tightened his jaw. Still holding onto Darwin's shirt collar, the man finally spoke.

"Why did you ask Papa? Why did you ask, Win!"

Darwin shook his head. Confusion himself because he did not understand what his father was talking about at this time.

"Papa, please, Darwin doesn't understand why Papa is suddenly like this?"

Gerald just kept throwing angry looks. His firm jaw showed clearly that the man was filled with rage.

"Dad asked you, did you ever grow up this big during your life, did Papa and Mama ever teach you to be rough with women? Has Papa ever taught you to be irresponsible and also a traitor?"

Darwin in his sitting position looked choked up. In the end he understood where his father was talking.

"Pa, listen to Darwin first. Papa ----"

"Just answer what Papa asked!" Gerald interrupted Darwin's words with a snap. Asking his son to focus on answering what he had asked before.

"Earlier, Darwin apologized," Darwin said continuing the conversation. "Darwin realized that Papa and Mama had never once taught Darwin to be a man who was both rude and irresponsible."

"Then why did you treat your wife so roughly? Why did you have an affair, Win!" asked Gerald. He couldn't stop thinking why the son he had always been proud of could act so stupid and reckless that in the end it brought shame to his family. "Papa has heard everything from your in-laws. You are too much, Win. Your actions have tarnished the good name of our family. Where do you want to put Papa's face?"

Darwin took a deep breath. He did not evade in the slightest the accusations that Gerald leveled at him. In the past, Darwin was so stupid and too blinded by love. To the extent that he acted stupidly without even thinking about the long-term effects he would receive.

So now? God seems to have set the right time. The vile deeds that he sowed in the past, he must now reap and suffer the consequences patiently.

"Darwin won't defend himself, Pa. At that time, Darwin admitted that he was wrong. But, for God's sake, Darwin had already apologized to Velove and promised to start everything from the beginning."

"Darwin will continue to try to find opportunities to explain everything to Papa Darius and Velove. Darwin hopes that this misunderstanding doesn't drag on."

Gerald let out a long sigh. His head felt like it was about to explode thinking about the problems that had happened to his son. When he wanted to calm down through old age, he unexpectedly got a disaster like this.

"You think you can do it that easy?" Gerald said in a deep voice. "Even though it happened a long time ago, Darius certainly won't accept your daughter being treated roughly, Win. He even plans to arrange your divorce and take back all the assistance that has been given to the Khiel Group. You must know what the consequences will be if all of that really happens?"

Darwin's shoulders slumped. Starting from his stupidity of breaking his promise by meeting Vicky, now he must be prepared to lose everything.

Meanwhile, in a corner of the cafe, Velove was seen sitting casually sipping a greentea frapuccino that he had previously ordered. In front of that woman, Deasy was also seen who was so loyal to accompany her.

They have been sitting there for an hour now. There are many interesting stories that Deasy told. Unlike the usual Velove, the woman today didn't talk much about herself. This made Deasy curious and finally asked a question.

"So, have you fixed getting out of Darwin's house?" asked Deasy. Deliberately provoked Velove to tell stories.

"Yes," Velove nodded briefly. "Papa asked me to get out of there immediately."

Dessy smiled broadly. Just so you know, in his heart he gave thanks many times. It's nice that in the end Velove can be separated from a man like Darwin.

"You should have left there a long time ago, Ve. I've said many times that Darwin is not the right guy to be your husband."

Velove just smiled. Not the least bit offended or annoyed by what Deasy had to say. He was used to hearing his best friend criticize and call Darwin all sorts of things.

"And marry Nathan?" continued Velove, as if he understood what sentence Deasy would say afterwards.

Hearing what his interlocutor said, Deasy chuckled. Grabbing Velove's wrist, the woman then squeezed it gently while shaking her head repeatedly.

"No, don't worry. This time I won't force you to get back into a relationship with Nathan. You are free to make life choices, Ve. You want to be with anyone, I'll definitely support you. As long as the man isn't a jerk like Darwin."

Velove smiled. Even though Deasy often annoyed him by leaking his stories to Nathan or his father, Velove still couldn't get angry. He knew very well that Deasy really loved and cared for him.

"You just pray for the best," Velove asked Deasy. "Whoever it is that will eventually become my companion, it means that God has indeed sent to be matched with me."

Let's get acquainted there," Randy pointed in another direction while continuing to walk, away from the chair Velove was occupying.

Darwin didn't want to miss the opportunity. As soon as Deasy left, he immediately sat down and got ready to speak again.

"Ve... I beg you, end all of this," the man whispered. "You know I've changed, right? About Vicky yesterday I really misunderstood. I have not the slightest intention to lie to or betray you."

Velove didn't move for a moment. Noticing how Darwin kept begging him.

"Then why can Papa catch you two out there hugging."

"It wasn't what Papa thought. When we arrived at the cafe, suddenly Vicky hugged me. Besides, before I didn't even have the slightest intention of meeting her.
