13. The Restraint Room.

Winifred was so scared at this point. The chief warden was so close to her that she could smell his sweaty body and the tobacco off his breathe.

"Now, would you strip or would you rather I do it myself and even claim you as mine while at it? I can as well do that... in fact, I would love to do that. Claiming a whole stuff like you for myself would be a great deal." He said, while Winifred struggled so hard to breathe under his critical eyes. She was so scared that she couldn't think well enough to choose, not that she had any option to choose anyways.

"Well, I'll take your silence as you choosing the second option! You proud and good for nothing slave!" He said as he started to try to tear the dress off her body.

"Chief!" A voice interrupted them from the other side of the door, that which he replied a disgruntled "What!" to.

"Sir Alexander has requested your presence sir." The voice responded.

"Which of the Alexanders?"

"Its th..."

"You know what, I don't even care! Go tell him that I'm busy at the moment and can't leave what I'm doing to attend to any other thing!" The chief Warden snapped, refusing to pick any other thing over the torture he was about to bestow on the girl before him, one he was looking forward to a lot, at her expense.

"Sir, it's the newly put head priest, sir Alexander O'Brian. Says he's here over a slave he'd like to own sir." The man said, remaining adamant too.

"The new head priest? A slave? Well, I suppose I can't turn down a good business proposal, come in here and grab this slave. Take her to the restraint room and leave her there until I decide what to do with her!" He instructed after which he left the cell and the man came in to grab Winifred roughly, leading her towards another space entirely.

Winifred's joy knew no bounds when the chief warden left even when he was on the verge of doing unspeakable things to her. She mentally thanked her guardian angel, if she ever had one as she obediently walked towards the so called restraint room as the man behind her pushed her.

As they got deeper into the cells, Winifred noticed all around her, the rooms were extremely small, almost like a fridge. If she thought the cell room she had previously been in was bad this was worse. There was a strange stench that came from the rusted cell rooms and as soon as they got to the end of the building which was closed up, the warden threw her roughly into the empty cell before locking her up. She tried to move around and silvered that she couldn't, she also tried to sit and there wasn't enough space for her to bend down so it left her with just the option to remain standing. It was pitch black and the stench made her feel like she was going to pass out anytime soon.

It seemed that the people who ran the slave establishment had built such a small and crazy space and called it a restraint room just to put slaves in to reflect on their mistakes and make sure they learn their lessons and it was working. After spending just thirty minutes in the restraint room under pitch darkness with just the option of standing in one direction and way, Winifred felt like she was on the verge of crying and soon, she did.

Even after that which she felt like sleeping, she discovered that she couldn't couldn't even that properly without having huge neck pains at the end of five minutes but soon she was able to fall asleep and after what seemed like hours, she woke up to total darkness yet again. She didn't know how much time had passed in there and the more time she spent the more her mind started to get depressed.

She then came to understand the room wasn't just about reflecting on anything. It was called the restraint room where one was not allowed to speak, move, see or even hear anything. They were cut off from the outside world as punishment, and not allowed to perform their usual human needs.

After she slept and woke up yet again, she was sure that she was about to go crazy as she was now feeling so hungry and pressed at the same time so she decided to do the only thing that seemed possible for her at the moment, shouting.

"Hello? Is anybody there? Please? I'm sorry?"

But then shouting in there seemed to be useless and she had to try to keep holding her urine as much as she could. Even the privilege to eat or drink was taken away and before she knew it, she had spent three days that looked like years in the restraint room.

On the fourth day, she was let out and as her eyes got exposed to light after been used to darkness for days, she could swear that she felt like she went crazy in the room she was locked in. Whatever they wanted to achieve with the restraint room proved successful because Winifred had decided to not go against any of their rules anymore, nothing at all would make her want to find herself in that so called restraint room anymore.

She looked dirty and starved as her hair that stuck out in various directions and the black airbags under eyes were proof. As she was dragged along to her previous cell, the other slaves kept throwing remarks at her without even bothering to hide it.

"Oh, she looks so horrible now!"

"Good for her, I'm sure the chief warden had his way with her before locking her in the restraint room."

"Of course, look at the way she's walking, she must have been dealt with properly."

"That's what happens to people who think they're better than the rest.

"I hope she knows her place now."

The warden acted like he didn't hear any of the remarks that were been thrown as they walked past each cell and Winifred had no energy left to even speak or reply to anyone plus she didn't want to go back to where she was coming from when it had been only a few minutes since she had stepped out of the restraint room.

When she was finally thrown back into her previous cell that had her cellmates in it, she instantly collapsed on the floor as she started to cry and then she heard Edith speak,

"Welcome to your new life as a slave, dear Winifred."
