66. Her Brother's Heart.
Hunter returned back to his sister, dejected and bruised. He hadn't got the chance to do what he had fantasised so much about as she had a sharp object, what seemed to be a broken glass at her reeach and she wasn't afraid to use it. Winifred stabbed his leg just as soon as he began to force her cloth off of her and while he crouched and nursed his pain, she got off and ran put of what seemed to be a enclosed room, only when she got out did she know that it was a depot and she didn't waste any time in running onto the ship that was loading. This was easy for her as she just slipped into the crowd and was somehow able to bypass the necessary requirements needed.
She watched as Hunter limped around, straining his neck and eyes to look for her as much as he could and she hid. Just before he could get on the ship, it was restricted as no more people were allowed on it and then it began to move, much to her relief. Hunter suddenly saw her amidst the plenty heads and he glared at her while she waved with a smirk.
Once again, she had outsmarted them, Hunter couldn't help but wonder if she had some kind of power or luck that was simply working in her favor.
"What do you mean she escaped? How could she have escaped? All you had to do was sell her to the barbarians who we are both sure that they'll ruin her on the ship even before they get get their destinations, how hard could that have been for you?" Alice snapped at her brother, wondering why such a dunce was a sibling of hers in the first place.
"There's nothing I could do, Alice. She stabbed me and escaped, it seems to me like she has so much luck embedded in her. She just keeps getting lucky, don't you think so too?" Hunter asked, trying to cool his obviously raging sister.
"Let me guess, you tried to rape her, didn't you? And that's why everything flopped, why on earth are you weaklings called men so moved by what you see? Would it have killed you to control that rod in between your legs? Huh and how on earth do you let a weak human escape your clutch, would you also claim to be a strong lycan if asked?" Alice raged on, furious that her plans might get ruined.
'Look, that's not the bone of contention right now, Alice. Arthur is furious, very and he has declared that anyone that did this would face death penalty regardless of who it is. I'm scared, what if she comes back?" Hunter questioned, visibly trembling while his sister was calm, "Okay, so? What's your point? What are you driving at?" She asked.
"I say that we go meet him privately, he's still our brother afterall, when we confess what we did to him and tell him where she is, it'll be easy for him to get her back and we might be forgiven. Itabbwteer than us getting caught, well be dead if such happens." Hunter suggested and Alice stared at him like he was crazy, "are you put of your mind? We should go and confess such a big deal to him by ourself? You do realise that he declared her as Luna immediately she was confirmed missing, right? Which means this isn't just a simple slave killing offence. Sometimes, you speak like you speak first before thinking second."
"I think i need to draw the line here, Alice. I'm still your elder brother nonetheless and I deserve some respect from you, you should not continue to talk to me in such rude manner, I'm not one of your slaves, neither am I your husband. You can do whatever you wnat but I am personally going to meet with Arthur, don't worry, ill leave you out of it." Hunter said, taking his own stance.
Alice on the other hand wasn't ready to let such a thing just happen like that , she wasn't going to back down and be killed over a stupid human slave that she had simply helped to put in the place where she actually belonged. And due to her desperation and tight corner, she knew she had to stop her brother any which way that she could. So as she watched her brother limp out of her room with his back to her, she did what she thought she had to do for survival, she let her claws put and ripped her brother's heart put of his body through his back and due to the fact that he had been taken offguard as never did Hunter think she would ever do such a thing, he fell to the ground, lifeless while Alice stared at him with his bloddy heart in her hands.
"What did you just do?" A masculine voice shrieked as he looked to and fro between his wife and her brother who was writhing on the floor of their matrimonial bedroom.
"It's not what it looks like, Clover, I promise." She quickly let out as she moved towards her husband who was obviously in a panic mode.
"Oh, what does a woman who has her brother's heart in her hands and her brother's body at her feet look like? A stage drama?" Clover questioned, scared of the woman she had gotten married to.
"I had to do it, okay? He... he was going to tell on me, he turned on me, he was heading to the king, to twll him about what we did and it could lead to our deaths anyways." Alice explained in the most coherent way that's he could even though she was also well aware of the fact that she definitely looked crazy to anyone at the moment.
"What did you do that could cause your deaths? What are you talking about, I'm just returning from the palace and the king is devastated from his woman who had yet again gone missing right under his nose. I don't think he cares about your stupid feuds at the moment, he has been shouting at everyone he assigned to make sure they find her and when I got there today, he immediately told me that he's putting it all in my hands as I was the only one he trusted at the moment so i have a lot to do to make sure that I don't disappoint him. Now, I get here only for you to have your own brother in the pool of his own blood?" Clover explained and Alice immediately dropped the heart in her hands and rushed to his side.
Clover stepped back to give her space due to what she had just done and he wasn't sure if she was crazy or not yet.
"Oh, don't do that. Look, the truth is that Hunter and I are behind Winifred's dissapearance and you of all people should know that it's for a good cause. We can't have that wench lording over us as Luna? A human? Our Luna? Do you wnat that too?" She threw, taking it step by step so as to get through to her husband properly and make him see things from her perspective and it was obviously working.
"Of course not, but who speaks when the king does. He has the final say and he isn't exactly giving anybody else any chance to oppose him concerning this particular matter. He's all wrapped around her fingers." Hunter said.
"See, all I did was help our kingdom from the ruins that Arthur was bound to cause to it. And then Hunter decide that he was going to back out just like that so... I lost control and uh... this happened." Alice said, without remorse.
"Ugh! What do we do about all this blood and body now, uh?" Hinter asked looking back at Hunter.
"We have him found in the human bushes and claim that he was killed by them or something? We'll have him cremated before anyone suspects a thing because no human could obviously do this."
"Why don't we just say that he was killed by vampires? They can do this too?"
"Yes, they cam but that can lead to a war, my brother is still a prince after all, it won't work, we'll be found out easily." Alice responded and Clover immediately gave her a look that says, 'I am so not part of this,' "we?" He asked.
"Yes, we. Us both, Clover, we need to work together and it's good news that you're now in charge of making sure that Winifred is found, all you need to do now is to keep assuring him that you have a lead and all of that just to keep him steady so he doesn't keep looking for her so much like he's already doing." Alice explained so quickly like she had it all planned out before now, Clover shook his head just before he replied, "you lay everything down so easily like you have been planning all of this throughout your life, and you're basically telling me to lie to my friend, he trusts me so I shouldn't do that to him."
"Oh, how about we both die then. I think our death is less important than breaking his trust." Alice responded in a very sarcastic tone and it immediately had Clover resigning to his resolve.
He knew what she meant, he was now a part of this, whether or not he wanted to be.
