73. Just a Dirty Human Slave.
"Will you come out already from those dark corners you keep lurking in and stop following me like a dog?" Winifred snapped. He had noticed that someone kept following her for days now and she was so sure that it was no one other than Arthur himself.
She was taking a stroll out in the forest next to the home she now stayed as she figured out how therapeutic the walk was for her, she enjoyed it so much and that was when she noticed that she was been followed yet again. Obviously by this man.
But then when the person finally came out, it was a wolf, a werewolf. And it wasn't Arthur's. The wolf shape-shifted into a human and Winifred was shocked to see who it was, it was Alice. Of all people.
"What are you doing here?" She asked confused, "if you're here to beg on behalf of your brother, I'm not having it so go home." She added and Alice scoffed, "still the little and egoistic bitch that you've always been, aren't you?
Winifred rolled her eyes, "oh, right! I forgot that you hate me so much so you obviously can't be here to beg or anything so what are you here for, Alice?" She asked, using her name directly for the first time and Alice burned with rage, she wasn't going to waste time anymore, her fur hands itched to encircle her throat and choke the life from her body. She also kept his slender knife close by just in case it gets tedious to do. It might be a more fitting end for the bitch. She had come far away from the palace to the human land so that she might end the life of the one woman who she would rather die than watch her rule them so she answered, "to kill you, of course, why else?"
Winifred was shocked to hear what she said, she hadn't expected it, hate her, yes. But kill her, that was the height of it, she wanted to laugh but the look of desperation and rage on her face went a mile to tell her that this lycan wasn't in anyway joking and so she took to her heels.
She ran as fast as she could, despite knowing that she would soon catch up with her, but she knew that she had to escape at any cost. She had to focus. Survival comes first. The floor was constantly attacked underneath her feet, dry leaves crunched under her feet and big trees, leaves and logs seemed to appear out of nowhere as if to try and stop her. But she could still hear her. had to stop to catch my breath before her lungs gave out on her.
Her rough hair was matted with some dirty liquid, her arms and legs all bruised and cut and her clothes already looked nothing like what it was seconds ago, dirty and tattered. She knew that she definitely looked like a leaking pipe but she had to keep running. After running for more minutes, she wiped the sweat from her forehead, exhausted. Her long legs gave up from beneath her and collapsed.
Her heart started racing and she knew that had to keep going so she started to run again. She needed to run for her life. She needed to survive, for her son.
"Stop, you know you can't escape me so stop wasting your time!" Winifred heard a voice yell behind her before she then heard loud growl which meant that Alice had just shifted , a way to scare and threaten Winifred which meant that she now had a lesser chance of survival but that didn't stop her, she just kept going.
Going deeper into the woods, she forced herself to move quicker as she kept taking different turns hoping to confuse Alice who was chasing after her. She pushed harder, running until her body felt like it was breaking. After a while, she bumped into a tree that had some thorns and she was soon bleeding. It cut into her stomach and started to hurt so badly, but she kept going. Only her escape mattered at the moment, not the blood, nor the pain.
But soon again, she knew that she had to rest even though her safety wasn’t guaranteed yet. Her heart was pounding so hard and her legs were shaking too much for her to continue but just them she heard a voice behind her, "Hello."
Alice had found her so easily and quickly and she smirked, “don’t even bother to speak,” she said, as she walked closer to her. She pulled Winifred behind a large chestnut tree and forced her onto her knees. “It is time for you to go, you've caused nothing other than disarray and bad luck for our dear kingdom, you're a witch." Alice to her, feeling contented with the fact that she finally had her in her hands. Her fingers bit into Winifred's hair as she kept her on her knees.
“Please, what have I done?” Winifred cried. She was so frightened and the light rain that had started chilled her. Was she running mad? What was going on here? She trembled. Alice's fingers tightened into her hair and Winifred cried out, “Please!”
“You need to die, I would never allow a bitch like you rule us, I won't allow you become a Luna over me, you're just a dirty human sex slave and that's all you'll ever be." Alice said as Winifred felt the tears fall. “Please don’t. My son needs me,” she whispered quietly.
Alice suddenly released her “Oh, that's true, you do have a son but guess what, I don't care. I wish I could head his life to, but I'll cross that bridge when i get there, you first,” she told her.
“What do you want from me? Why are you doing this?” Winifred asked as she shuddered.
“I have watched and waited and remained inactive for far too long. I will do what should have been done long ago,” she said. Her voice was cold in the green park. She felt the cold rain and the grass under her knees. “I have done nothing to you,” she cried.
“No! You have done nothing but bewitched my brother, our king, a fine leader among men. And you will destroy him.”
“No, I love him. I carried his son. Our son. Please.”
“Be quiet, witch! You have bewitched him and stolen his soul through your wicked ways, that's why he's doing everything against our rules just to favour you.” She said as she slapped her across the face and drew out her knife from beneath her cloth. “I should have done this at the palace when you were first brought there. I could have saved myself so much time and pain, rather than relying on my stupid brother to kidnap you.”
“Oh my God,” Winifred whispered. She touched her fingers to her lips, realizing both brother and sister were involved in planning her kidnapping. "Thank God he's dead, he fouled everything up. I killed him for the sake of killing him.”
Winifred felt sick, she killed her own brother? “Why?” she whispered. Winifred admired the blade that would soon be stained with her blood. “There is a beautiful girl in the palace. She's very beautiful and young than you ever will be, and I planned so perfectly for her to be Arthur's wife and bear his children.” “No,” Winifred said.
“I told her to come to the palace and she did. She was to seduce Arthur with her body.” Winifred bit her lip and felt her tears fall. “But she too failed me. Instead, the king couldn’t complete the act before he passed out but who cares, to everyone, she carries his baby and that's enough for me." Winifred's heart soared even as it flung back to earth. “You made an enemy out of me from the moment I first saw you. When I first laid eyes on you, I knew you were evil. All that is unholy lies between your legs and in your body.”
“No. That’s not true,” she whispered. “I am a good woman.”
"No, you are not! You are the most vilest of creatures. A witch.” Winifred shook her head as Alice drew the blade along her collarbone and she shuddered. She murmured quietly, “Once you are dead, I can always take him back to Arthur, any woman can be his mother, and Arthur will never know that your blood stained my hands,” Alice said. She smiled then, and Winifred knew all was lost. Winifred tried to concentrate on Arthur and her beloved son. She tried to focus on their faces and not the one before her.
“Make your peace, witch.” Winifred shook her head and shivered in the cold. “I love Arthur and I love my son. More than that, I have nothing to say. Do what you will,” she said as she closed her eyes.
