2067 The difference in the future for new souls(Chapter preview)

They looked around and when they came back to the inn, they noticed that someone had gone into their room.

Everything in the room looked the same, but Sima You Yue was sensitive about these things. Moreover, the room had another faint smell.

Wu Lingyu opened the windows for the smell to dissipate.

"This smells familiar, I've smelled it somewhere before." Sima You Yue recalled someone whose face was hidden behind a beard. "It seems like someone has taken interest in us!"

"Not in us, in you." Wu Lingyu continued, "My soul doesn't have such an alluring smell."

Sima You Yue shrugged her shoulders, "Are you blaming me?"

Her soul had an alluring smell. She knew it when she met Yu Du in the Immortal Lands. While in the Ghost Realm, some of them ate souls as food, but no one dared to attack her as she was strong and had high position.

Now that they were in the Soul Region, special souls would attract attention. Even if she suppressed her power and aura, her smell would still be picked up by some special others with a special nose.

Wu Lingyu and Sima You Yue exchanged glances as this was the first time they experienced this.

These souls were confused as they hadn't realised where they were.

Sima You Yue noticed many people were swallowing their saliva as they stared at these souls with brightened eyes. It was as if they were going to go up and split these souls, but they stood still on the ground with no movements.

"Where is this?"

"Who are we? Why are there so many people here?"

"I, I…"

Hundreds of souls were standing on the ground, not knowing where they were or who they were. They didn't know what was coming for them, but experiencing this was scary.

When they wanted to escape, a group of troops ran over and surrounded them.

"Who are you? What do you want?!"

"Don't hurt us!"

"Let us go!"

The troops didn't listen to them as the head of the troop shouted, "Test their skills!"

A few of them stood out from the troop and went to the plain ground, holding a blood red stone as they stood close to the souls and put the testing stones into their body.

They screeched in pain when their body was penetrated with an arm along with the stone. Some of the weaker souls disappeared into smoke as they couldn't bear the force.

And as for those who could bear the strength, the testing stone changed colour when it entered their body. The lowest grade would shine with a red light. The stronger the Soul Power, the lighter the colour would be. There were a total of seven grades. Based on the discussion of the crowd, it seemed like the strongest one would turn the testing stone white. However, none of them possessed such a talent.

After the testing was done, the souls that changed the testing stone in four grades were taken away by the soldiers, leaving seventy to eighty percent of the souls not knowing what to do.

Sima You Yue noticed that the eyes of the crowd became fanatical and pulled Wu Lingyu away. After the soldiers left, those who were restraining themselves suddenly became crazy as they flew towards the souls.

Some of them caught the souls then used underworld power to suppress them into a small ball and…. ate them.

Sima You Yue was disgusted. It was no wonder these people were so excited hearing that sound, so it turned out that they already had this intention.

Wu Lingyu and her watched as they stood far away and went back to the city. They were stopped before they got into the city.

"It's you." Sima You Yue looked at him with no surprise at all. But she was disgusted at the thought that this kind of person went into her room before.
