238 Moon gazing with a pretty boy(Chapter preview)

On the morning of the second day, the group finished packing up. The Eldest Senior split them into three teams and got everyone to start looking.

Before they left, Sima You Yue drew out the appearance of the Moon Breath Grass and the Sunset Cloud Lower and told them about the distinctive trait of the honey. She told them to report back once they had any leads and trails.

The three group immediately set off as Sima You Yue, Sima You Lan and Sima You Lin naturally followed the Eldest Senior, while Jun Lin was added on as well. Apart from that, there were four more guards following them.

They had not gotten far before there was a rustling sound of something getting out of its den.

"There's movement!" Eldest Senior stopped and looked towards the front, saying, "Young Master, can you settle it on your own?"

Sima You Lin closed his eyes and sensed around before nodding and replying, "I can."

So, everyone else just stood where they were without moving while Sima You Lin went to the front on his own. He concentrated his aura and shot in front, releasing a white ray of light into the grass that was as tall as a person.

"Giant Green Crocodile!" A guard shouted out in surprise when he saw what the Spirit Beasts looked like before exclaiming, "So many of them!"

Sima You Yue glanced over at it. Those crocodiles were not that high in rank, so it wasn't too dangerous even though there were many of them.

Sima You Lin defeated ten over crocodiles on his own. He constantly moved around in the centre of the group of crocodiles and was extremely fast. The sword in his hand was incomparably sharp, claiming the lives of these crocodiles.

"You can do it Young Master!" The guard saw Sima You Lin's powerful battle abilities and cried out excitedly.

This was the first time that Sima You Yue had seen Sima You Lin act. His attacks were ruthless and not a single strike was wasted. It was like firing blindly with one shot one kill accuracy.

"He has such powerful battle strength… Looks like he places much emphasis on combat, not like those usual pampered Little Lords and Misses."

Sima You Lin cleaned off those crocodiles very quickly without sustaining a single injury.

"Not bad." Eldest Senior nodded his head with praise, "With your current strength, you would not have any problems if you met with any other clansmen your generation."

You Lin walked over and kept the sword in his hand, replying, "I don't feel that it's that certain. As I become stronger, so do the others. Especially for that Nalan Jie. He always gives me an unfathomable and impenetrable feeling."

"Nalan Jie has truly gotten much opportunities. Furthermore, it's been a long time since anybody on the outside has gotten a grasp of his current abilities. Every clansmen is extremely curious about what his current rank is." Eldest Senior said.

"I feel that he will be the greatest opponent in this meeting." You Lin ascertained, "That's why I still have to continue to improve or else I will be beaten by him."

"What meeting?" Sima You Yue asked.

Jun Lin looked at Sima You Yue and asked, "You actually don't know about the meeting?"

Sima You Yue shook her head, saying, "I just got here and haven't heard anyone talk about any meeting. What kind of meeting is it?"

"That's the one meeting where every single power competes with each other. They will compare with each other at every level to determine the position of the powers." You Lan explained, "If a first ranked power is defeated, he might become a second ranked power. Furthermore, those lower in rank can challenge a higher rank. If they win, they can increase their position."

"I got it. So you're saying that this meeting is a battle of power for position." Sima You Yue said, "That Nalan Jie… Looks like he really does have some ability."

"That goes without saying. He was already a Fourth Ranked Spirit Overlord one year ago. Now that a year has already passed, his growth in power would definitely have been even faster." Jun Lin said, "If we wait another two years, he might even become a Spirit Saint!"

Sima You Lin came out from behind the big tree and said, "I saw that you came out alone and was afraid that you might be in danger."

"Eldest Senior and the others are all below, what dangers could there be?" Sima You Yue turned around and asked.

Sima You Lin walked over and looked at the moon shining overhead and said, "Your perception abilities are sharp. You actually knew I was over there."

"So-so." Sima You Yue said, "Your ability to conceal your aura is strong. If you didn't encounter me, most people wouldn't be able to detect you."

"Are you praising me or yourself!" Sima You Lin smiled as he spoke, as he came and sat beside her.

"Both of us." Sima You Yue looked at his smirk and muttered to herself, "This guy is really attractive. It's no wonder Jun Lin would treat him as a woman and assault him."

It was such a pity to not have wine on an occasion where she was moon gazing with a pretty boy, so she took out two jars of wine and offered one to Sima You Lin. The clinked their jars together and took a swig.

"Do you know that I've always been curious about you?" Sima You Lin took the wine jar and said while looking at Sima You Yue.

"Curious towards me?" Sima You Yue was confused.

"I knew about you three years ago." Sima You Lin said, "You Lan came back and told me about all that happened that day and said that she was moved by you. Your burning desire to protect your family caused her heart to feel unsettled for so long. She told me that that day, in order to come along with your Grandfather and the others, you even battled my Grandfather on mental abilities. At that time, I had the feeling that I would be blessed if I were your family."

Sima You Yue did not follow up, she just listened to him silently.

"Actually, the Golden Snake Fruit was already in your hands at that time, right?" SIma You Lin was asking her, but his tone was certain.

"Why do you think so?" Sima You Yue raised her eyebrows.

"At that time, you spoke with such confidence. That you would obtain the Golden Snake Fruit within three years. Unless you already had it, there's no way you would have the confidence that you would definitely get it." Sima You Lin explained.

Sima You Yue smiled and didn't refute it. Meanwhile, she thought that this guy was smart.

Sima You Lin looked at her and said with all seriousness, "I want to ask you to help me."
