Chapter 23 Burning
Reid sat on a chair in the laboratory and stretched his palms into a huge cattail leaf. As he waved, he tried to fan the air and bring himself a bit of coolness.
"Huhu. Why is it so hot?"
Reed kept fanning, hoping to bring some light wind.
His hands moved quickly, fanning the air around him. Despite his efforts, the temperature in the lab seemed to be rising. Reed felt sweat dripping from his forehead, and the hot feeling made him a little uneasy.

The temperature in the laboratory continued to rise, and a strong heat wave filled the air, making the oxygen in the air seem to become thinner.
Reed felt his clothes clinging to his body, wet, and letting out a hint of heat steam.

Reed cursed under his breath, rolled his eyes, and quickly compressed his body like a spring, then slammed into the ventilation duct on the ceiling in the corner of the room.
Reed rushed towards the door of the laboratory angrily. He slapped the door button hard, hoping to escape from this scorching place.
However, when he tried to grab the louvers of the ventilation duct, his hands just slid over the smooth metal. His mood instantly fell into despair, and anger burst out.
His nose fell to the position of his mouth, one eye became a puddle, the other stuck out of the eye socket like a stick, and his ears flowed down to his legs. He had lost his human features and gradually blurred into a twisted mass.

Suddenly, Reed noticed that the skin of the corpse on the stage began to melt under the burning of the flames, exposing the broken bones. His eyes stared at this scene, and an idea suddenly appeared in his mind, and he seemed to understand something.
Reed's limbs gradually deformed and fell into a pile on the ground.

His eyes widened and he stared in horror at a gun barrel protruding from the wall. Before his eyes, flames and fuel spurted out of the barrel, forming a terrifying tongue of flame that struck him.
"Open the door! I'm Mr. Fantastic, Reed Richards, open the door!" he shouted, hoping that the access control system would recognize his identity and unlock the door.
Fury didn't respond, and the only response Reed got was that more gun barrels continued to protrude from the wall, spraying flames at him as he dodged and moved.
The entire scene became chaotic, and the fury of the flames turned the laboratory into a hellish scene. Reed felt a strong wave of heat coming over him, his skin was burning, and he could feel his clothes starting to melt.

At the same time, the muzzle on the wall retracted back to its original position and disappeared into the wall, as if it had never existed.

Reed fell down next to the experimental table in the center of the room, looking desperately at the flames attacking him.
Everything was burned away, leaving only the dark mass in the center of the room. From the shape of the charcoal, it could be vaguely recognized that it was once a part of Reed's body.
His body contracted like a spring, then suddenly expanded, catapulting him out of the reach of the flames. With every bounce, he flew like a flexible projectile through the burning flames.
White coats, chairs, instruments, everything burned in the flames, making crackling sounds. The white coat on the chair was swallowed up by the flames and quickly burned to ashes, leaving only sparks flying in the sky.
His voice echoed through the burning laboratory, like the angry roar of a wounded beast. There was something crazy and desperate about his laughter.
His body was like a piece of melting rubber, with deep depressions and signs of dissolution beginning to appear on the surface. The elastic properties gradually disappear, becoming soft and brittle.
At the moment before his death, the remains stretched out his hand, or part of his body, towards another mass of charcoal on the table.

The flames finally enveloped Reed's body, and his voice gradually faded away in the blazing flames. His last words echoed in the air.

The flames licked his body, causing him to feel immense pain.

The flames raged in the laboratory, and Reed kept avoiding the flames, but the muzzle on the wall continued to spray red flames, forming a sea of fire. Almost the entire room was engulfed in flames, and the fierce fire filled the air with thick smoke.

Everything that happened in the surveillance was clearly visible to Bai Ye. He smiled with satisfaction as he watched the ball of charcoal crack into several pieces.
