Chapter 1059: Enemies of the Fairy Hall?
There was indeed a dark tree hole under a big tree deep in the forest, and its height was almost the same as the goblins' height.
Vincent put his wand into the hole, trying to illuminate the tree hole through the tip of the wand.
However, he failed, and the inside of the tree hole was still pitch black. It was obvious that there was an anti-peeping magic set up here.
"It's amazing..." He put away his wand, "There's not a trace of magic. How did they do that?"
The goblins' unique magic reminded him and Hermione of Harry's golden eggs.
"How are we going to get in?" Lupin looked at Sirius. "It doesn't look like there's a doorbell here."
Under the expectant gazes of the three, Sirius shrugged his shoulders and said, "Don't look at me. I've never been here."
He turned to look at Vincent, and the other two followed suit.
If we can crack the golden egg, this little arrangement shouldn't be a problem.
Vincent put away his alder wand sullenly and took out the double snake staff from Flamel's ring. "There's not even a guard. Are you sure this is the place?"
Sirius pointed to the dark hole and said, "If it's not the lair of a mysterious underground organization, why would they go to so much trouble to set up anti-spying magic?"
He was right, but there had to be some guards in a place like this, right? What if a dark wizard or dark creature passed by?
Vincent put his worries aside for the moment and pointed the two ferocious snake heads on the tip of his staff at the tree hole.
The magic power that seemed to have sunk into the sea was finally able to successfully penetrate in with the amplification of the double snake staff, and the dim and dark interior space finally began to glow with a faint light.
The fairies' anti-peeping magic is very similar to the small device in the golden egg that makes sound. They all follow the four elements of extraction - medium - reaction - carrier.
"It's actually complete?" Vincent increased his mana output with great interest.
"Beep, beep--" the rapid alarm sounded throughout the silent forest.
He turned around and looked at the three people who looked extremely nervous with an innocent face, "Yes, I failed."
Since goblins are forbidden to use wands, their magic system is instead achieved through sophisticated forging techniques.
Although the alarm was triggered, it was confirmed that this place was the mysterious Fairy Hall.
Sirius and Lupin believed it, but Hermione was the only one who thought Vincent had set off the alarm on purpose.
Since they are the top forces in the magic world's underworld, we are bound to run into them in the near future.
There happens to be a good opportunity now, so of course we have to test their true strength.
After a while, apart from the alarm that never stopped sounding, there was no other movement around.
The four of them even managed to stand unscathed, not encountering even the most basic of defensive traps.
Vincent retracted all his magic power under the gaze of the three people, and the rapid alarm sound stopped immediately, "Ahem - do you think there is a possibility that the Fairy Hall has moved?"
Sirius curled his lips, "How dare old Shafik lie to me? I'm going to pull out all his beard tomorrow!"
"No." Hermione bent over the dark cave entrance. "If the goblins really moved away, there is no reason for them to continue to maintain the magic here."
Vincent looked back at the tree hole with a strange look in his eyes.
Indeed, according to normal logic, even if the fairies who value money more than anything else move, it is unlikely that they will leave behind such a high-end anti-peeping magic with an alarm function.
Unless they are as prodigal as Sirius, they don't care about the loss of the rearrangement.
So, either you don’t want to, or you can’t.
Vincent transformed the caduceus into a long-barreled pistol, which frightened the other three.
Lupin quickly stopped him, "Don't do that, we'll offend the goblins."
Sirius wasn't afraid, but he regretted bringing him along.
After a brief shock, Hermione met his blue eyes calmly, "Do you suspect something has happened to the goblins?"
Vincent nodded. "Compared to moving, I think escaping is more likely."
As an underground organization of the dark society of the wizarding world, the Fairy Guild, which holds vast resources, is bound to have many enemies.
If it was a sudden attack by an enemy, then everything can be explained.
Lupin hesitated for a moment, stepped aside, and stopped trying to stop Vincent.
A strong light flashed, accompanied by a roar, and countless cracks appeared in the dark space inside the tree hole.
After the second strong light, the magic carefully arranged by the goblins was completely destroyed.
Vincent illuminated the tree hole. The space inside was not big, but large chunks of gold were scattered on the ground.
The attack just now was mainly intended to destroy the fairies' arrangements, and it shouldn't have had such destructive power.
Sirius, holding his wand, bent down and walked into the tree hole, carefully looking at the large chunks of gold on the ground.
It was actually made of pure gold, and some parts were engraved with fairy words, some parts were particularly smooth, and there were even quite a few gem fragments.
He waved his wand and caught a small piece of jeweled gold, "These seemed to have been a door originally?"
He waved his wand again, causing the scattered gold and gem fragments to slowly float up.
Before they could be put back together, Hermione suddenly screamed.
Following her gaze, I saw a small figure underneath the large pieces of gold that had not yet floated up.
It was wearing gorgeous armor, and its exposed skin was the gray-yellow color of the goblins.
Sirius frowned, "It looks like we really were attacked."
He and Lupin crouched in front of the body while Vincent and Hermione walked towards the group of golds that were speeding up their combination.
The corpse was indeed a goblin, and it had turned into a mummy. It had been dead for at least half a year.
The gorgeous armor it was wearing did not seem to be just for show. The fairy words engraved on it were still emitting a soft light, and apart from some minor scratches, there was no damage at all.
"It looks like a one-shot kill." Lupin pointed his wand at the body and turned it over onto its back.
There were no obvious fatal wounds, only bruises where the armor didn't cover, caused by large pieces of gold hitting him.
"Remus..." Sirius looked into his eyes deeply.
There are many spells in the wizarding world that can kill with one strike, but there is only one spell that even the magic armor built by goblins cannot defend against, or in other words, it can penetrate directly.
Lupin took a deep breath, "Killing Curse..."
The gold that was being quickly assembled suddenly stopped and froze in mid-air.
Vincent and Hermione turned their heads sharply.
This is the most evil of the three unforgivable curses, and it directly takes the life of the victim, which makes people think of Voldemort at the first time.
The atmosphere suddenly became extremely depressing, as if the air in the tree hole was instantly sucked out.
Vincent hugged Hermione gently, "The Killing Curse is not his patent. The enemy of the Goblin Guild seems to be not simple."
Sirius smiled, "Right."
The large piece of gold frozen in mid-air is reassembled and restored at a faster speed.
Lupin forced a smile. "Most wizards look down on goblins, let alone the dark wizards."
Hermione loosened her clenched fists slightly, realizing that the three of them avoided talking about Voldemort because they were concerned about her feelings.
She looked back at the pure gold door that had already taken shape, her eyes gleaming with determination. "No matter who the murderer is, we must continue investigating."
