Chapter 1100: Veiled Shape-Stealing Curse

The unbearable pain could not stop old Batty, but no matter how he tried, he could not get close to Fudge in front of him.

Before his consciousness disappeared, a beam of light shone in again.

When he opened his eyes again, Fudge was on the other side of the glass.

Even though his back was facing him, he could vaguely see Peter Pettigrew trembling as he was restrained even tighter.

"Wormtail! If you dare to reveal any information about Voldemort, I swear I will not let you die easily!"

After Old Batty finished speaking, he lowered his eyes to look at his throat in surprise.

The throat that had been torn by the torture instrument had healed. If it weren't for the dried blood stains on the ground, he would have thought that everything that had just happened was a dream.

"Did you hear that, Wormtail? You damned coward!"

The steel fork-shaped torture device against his throat was gone, but those on his body were still there.

Barty Sr.'s action of calling out Voldemort made Scrimgeour and the Aurors frown immediately.

Among the Death Eaters, they usually only call him Master or the Dark Lord, and no one ever dares to call him Voldemort.

The reason for avoiding the real name is fear. Does it mean that old Barty has an equal relationship with Voldemort?

Scrimgeour stepped forward, opened the door, and walked into the room alone.

"You..." Scrimgeour's eyes were extremely sharp. "You are not Barty. Who are you?"

If there really was a way to perfectly conceal the Dark Mark, some people back then wouldn't have had to spend huge amounts of money to buy indulgences.

"Tell me! How is the real Batty now!"

Old Barty sneered again and again, "Rufus Scrimgeour, my dear head of the Auror Office, can't you investigate it yourself?"

Scrimgeour grabbed his throat and said, "It seems I shouldn't heal your throat. It doesn't matter if you don't tell me. I will apply for the use of truth serum on you!"

Unconventional interrogation methods such as Legilimency and Veritaserum are explicitly prohibited, but if the target is an extremely dangerous person like a Death Eater, I believe the Wizengamot will understand.

Even though his throat was being strangled, Old Batty still grinned, "Come on, Rufus, you can't get any information from me."

He is so confident, it seems that Voldemort has imposed a ban.

Scrimgeour moved closer, meeting his crazed eyes.

"Really? I can't possibly?"

Scrimgeour loosened his hand, and his emotions gradually calmed down. "You seem to have forgotten someone. What if it was him?"

“It doesn’t matter who comes!”

Scrimgeour keenly caught the flash of panic in Barty's eyes. "Very good. I hope you can keep this attitude."

"Ministry of Magic running dog! I will kill you with my own hands!"

Scrimgeour smiled contemptuously. "Wait until you walk out of this room."

He turned and left the room, leaving old Batty to continue yelling and cursing inside.

These Death Eaters have lost all humanity and are completely incapable of normal communication.

If you want to deal with such a person, you can only call on the expert among experts.

5 minutes later,

There was a series of "da da da" sounds in the corridor outside.

The door of the room was opened, and old Batty subconsciously looked up and met an eye emitting a faint blue light.

"Alastor Moody!"

Scrimgeour led Moody to him. "Alastor, thank you for your hard work."

"It's not hard." Moody approached old Barty expressionlessly and scanned his entire body with his magic eyes at close range. "As long as it can deal with the evil dark forces, I'm happy to help."

"Knock knock--" The door of the room was opened again, and Fudge came back from Peter Petty Dwarf.

Fudge seemed a little surprised that Moody was here, but he didn't say anything, just looked at Scrimgeour quietly.

"Ha - ha ha -" Old Barty suddenly laughed crazily, "What an honor it is that the legendary Auror and the Minister of Magic are here. Didn't that coward Wormtail tell everything?"

"Shut up!" Moody slammed the cane into his mouth, and his thick lips were immediately stuck together.

Fudge frowned slightly, looking somewhat displeased.

A few minutes later, Moody finished scanning with the magic eye.

He straightened up and looked down at the speechless old Batty. "Just as I thought, you peeled off Batty's face and put it on your own face."

Fudge's face turned extremely ugly.

Not only does the Director of the Auror Office have to rely on retired legendary Aurors, but he can't even confirm the disguise methods used by the Death Eaters in the past.

But this can't actually be blamed on Scrimgeour. Moody only learned about this particularly unpopular disguise method after Rookwood was captured.

Conventional magical disguises, such as Polyjuice Potion and Transfiguration Charms, have two fatal flaws: one is that they are easily detected, and the other is that they last too short a time.

If you don't want to be discovered and don't want to suddenly remove your disguise, you can only choose a semi-permanent method.

Moody raised the cane in his hand high, and countless black threads emerged and pierced old Batty's face.

The thin black line cut through the skin like a precision instrument, without shedding a drop of blood, and slowly peeled off old Batty's skin.

Scrimgeour grabbed his neck again and clenched his fist to hit him. "Speak! I don't have the patience to waste time with you anymore!"

"Heh - then just kill me and see if I will come back to life again."

Moody held down Scrimgeour's fist. "Calm down, Rufus. He's just scared."

His magic eyes emitted a faint blue light, "Am I right? Barty Crouch Jr."

Little Barty didn't dare to meet his magic eyes, and it was obvious that he was being discovered and was trying to hide his inner nervousness.
